This is probably the best series I have seen that I would never recommened to anyone. That might sound strange, so let me explain.
This series is pretty good. Some might even say fantastic. And that in pretty much every aspect. The characters feel real and believable, The animation ranges from good to breathtaking and the story/main relationship is very well handled.

Since no one seems to have watched or cared about this anime, I felt I needed to step up for it and fight the score of 4.6 it has right now.
First of: This anime will most likely not appeal to everyone. It's a short series with about 3 minutes per episode loosely based on the famous detective books by Edogawa Rampo. It's a mixture of an over-the-top comedy and a parody of both the books and modern society. So if anime with very little room to catch a breath aren't your thing, this one might not be for you. Afro Samurai is in my opinion a perfect series for newcomers to the anime community.
Here are the reasons why: Afro Samurai is a short series with only five episodes, so it almost feels more like a movie than a series, but split up into a serial format. The story is very simple and not the greatest story ever told, but it suffices for this series. The art style is gorgeous to look at and the fights are all very smooth and highly entertaining.
