This is pretty much a middle-of-the-road isekai. The world-building is decent. It has some layers of the world beyond the story but is not really deep or engaging. The art is average. It's not bad but not fresh or inspiring.
It has a strong Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou feel to it. The main female MC has many character designs that mirror Hajime Nagumo, with the same physical impairments, the same weapon, and a similar backstory. While the male MC has a similar psychology to Hajime and similar but not exactly the same power set.

Despite a lackluster and borderline insulting ending, this show was good. Yaha-kui zaShunina and Shindou had some nice chemistry and if the show focus solely on them negotiating, I wouldn't have complained. But the other characters were poorly developed, especially like Agate who for some reason the show keeps cutting to but never did anything that develop the plot. Other characters are there for no reason (Ritsu) or just tropes for trope sake (Kanata). But I gave it a 7 because the art was good and music was nice plus the concept was thought out even if the execution left something to be desired.

The trope of reincarnation and reliving is being played a lot lately, but I liked how this story simplified the trope and made it more relatable.
The sci-fi element of age reduction isn't abused too much and is used appropriately to set up the premise of "what if a 27-year-old man got a chance to do high school again." The reveals are hit better in the manga, but the pacing is great ... |
