I can understand why some people are not enjoying Blue Lock, but I don't think it deserves such heavy criticism. Let's take another look (spoiler-free so not in-depth).
The story is centered around football. Is the anime going to represent football 100% accurately? Of course not, most sports anime don't do a good enough job showcasing their respective sports. And that's not the goal of Blue Lock either. The author took football, picked and chose the aspects to keep and/or exaggerate and those to discard, and added some other elements as well. Call it what you want: creativity, adaptation... Regardless, I personally am super excited about
...
watching a real football match now. I could have cared less about football prior to watching this anime to be honest. My point is that judging a sports anime based on the sport representation might turn out to be the same as judging a book by its cover, and the effects of a non-accurate showing might not be the worst either.
The Blue Lock Project gathers 300 strikers for training. This obviously does not mean that these characters' motivations and backstories aren't diverse. They're boring only if we ignore why/how it became their dream to be the best striker. Furthermore, just because they're all trying to become strikers doesn't mean that the chararcters don't respect the other positions. The necessity becomes obvious once they start playing matches, and there's nothing wrong with or disrespectful about trying to improve so they could do everything themselves as strikers. It's the whole point of the Project.
The animation is great. It pulls you in, makes you want to keep watching. I personally appreciate it because bad or mediocre animation is unfortunately the biggest deal-breaker for me, no matter how good everything else is. As for music, I was happy to hear UNISON SQUARE GARDEN sing the first OP. They did an opening for Run With the Wind, so singing for another sports anime felt fitting.
The concept itself is quite intrguing, and the claims Blue Lock as a whole makes about Japanese football and society holds at least some water. I also appreciate how concise this anime is about its main character's OPness: identify the problem and overcome it. Yes, it happens unrealistically quickly, but the character is OP nevertheless so we might as well roll with it. However, I think that anyone who watches Blue Lock can leave with some food for thought regarding the main character's improvement.
What knocked some points off for me was how exaggerated the passion is. It doesn't feel "sincere", it's literally as if they become possessed. And I don't vibe with that.
All in all, watch it if you want to. The anime has a lot to offer. I hope my review was an encouragement to at least check it out and maybe give it a try.

Although the premise of the story is interesting and the art is beautiful, I can no longer bat an eye when I indeed want to close both!
One big problem is how the female MC is portrayed. She is a bold and shameless character but the show (and it was probably in the source material as well) dwells on these aspects for too long. (How can this be PG13?!)
The story sends a message that the MC's behaviour is OK when it is actually not normal and potentially dangerous. It promotes and maybe even normalises impropriety. I am mortified when I think of how some people may
...
try to imitate the MC's boldness and not realise when they are crossing the line. (I want to point out that the only reason this was not a problem in the show is because the male lead is rather gentlemanlike!)
I could discuss several other reasons I dropped this show but this is the main problem I wanted to draw attention to.
I suggest that those people who want to keep their watchlists pure/clean and/or care about decency don't watch this anime despite the hype. I know this show scratches the itches of many viewers.

The story follows Kanie Seiya who becomes the manager of an amusement park to save the magical residents of the park from losing their home. The anime is (mostly) about how he tries to achieve this goal.
The story is more character driven than plot driven. There is a main storyline but it is "interrupted" with some side stories which sometimes were very interesting and others times mediocre. Overall they had no direct impact on the story but were relevant enough to be included.
I appreciated the fact that this anime didn't have deep backstories for the characters or complex lore which made it easy to follow.
...
The characters have distinct personalities but it's a matter of preference whether you actually like them or not.
I must add that some scenes made me feel slightly uncomfortable. There's some "classic" fanservice which can't be ignored but in addition there are some side characters who are pervy so it became one of the focuses of the plot. The main story ends in the 12th episode so the 13th episode not only felt unnecessary but also made me feel more uncomfortable.
All of that aside, I liked the rest of the anime. It had great main characters, it was funny, the animation is beautiful, it is simple to follow and really made me excited to work and make a difference in the world myself.

Hyouka: Motsubeki Mono Wa is a beach episode which takes place at a pool. It follows a pretty standard pattern for the show: the main characters get together, hang out, Chitanda's curiosity is sparked, everyone looks for clues and eventually Oreki solves the mystery — you know the drill.
Since it's a slice of life anime there were a few 'less interesting' parts as one would expect but the main show's 'less interesting' parts were more interesting than those in the OVA. The pacing also felt strange to me but thankkfully it didn't make the episode less enjoyable. Overall the mood of the OVA fits in
...
seamlessly with the main series (if we ignore the fact that this is a beach episode which makes fanservice basically unavoidable).
Now comes the (only) frustrating part: the mystery. When I watched the main series I was always thrilled because I could never figure out the solution to the puzzle but this OVA's mystery paled in comparison to the main series'. The solution was obvious and I was a bit bored while I waited for the characters to figure it out too.
Overall Hyouka: Motsubeki Mono Wa was probably meant for light fun in contrast to the more interesting mysteries in the main series. I personally don't think it's a must-watch (unless you're into swimsuits) but I also don't want to discourage anyone from watching it of they choose to do so.

I was going to give this anime a rating of 6 but the last few episodes made me appreciate the story more so now it's an 8.
In my opinion, it would be best to view it as an anime that talks about (creating) art and the struggles that come along with it. The last few episodes really emphasized what a messed up thinking (mindset) could do to an artist or a person in general and the anime included some good basic principles that should not be dismissed when creating art. (You should be able to spot one almost every episode.)
If you're hoping for a romance
...
(like I was), I wouldn't recommend this. There are six love interests and she ends up with none of them, which was kind of disappointing because the show made it clear that the love interests had feelings for her but it stayed at that.
The songs were catchy and the Engrish was surprisingly okay. Since it's a short anime (13 episodes), the character development felt a bit unsatisfying. The characters easily changed their views/attitude almost in an instant when in reality it would have taken much much longer.
At first the story was predictable, but towards the end it became more interesting as the story progressed in a way that I wasn't expecting (considering the build up).
It's not an anime I would re-watch any time soon (or ever) but I liked the lightness of it. It was fun and easy to watch and didn't leave any lingering emotions.
In conclusion, it has its flaws, but if you are an artistic person or like creating things in general, I think you would appreciate or enjoy Magic-Kyun! Renaissance.

MINOR SPOILERS!
Written for warning more sensitive viewers ;)
When I started watching this anime, I thought that I was gonna have a nice time but I warn you that this anime will take unpredictable turns in the story, touching some sensitive (or not) topics. When I started to watch the last episode, I was so scared that I looked up the synopsis for it (mind you, I was frightened by some previous episodes).
I recommend not watching it as a 13 year old but rather a 15 year old because it is much more violent than other 13+ rated anime. (Of course I'm not saying you can't
...
watch it as a 13 year old, but it can get pretty dark).
I wish the anime would have stayed the plot it was the first few episodes because I enjoyed it very much.
