I first watched Claymore years ago when I was just diving into anime, and recently revisited it because I remembered how unique an experience it was. just wow, does it ever hold up, still one of the most original and engaging pieces of dark fantasy that I have ever seen.
Perhaps the strongest point about Claymore is how it escalates bit by bit. It starts off as a simple hunt-and-slay narrative and gradually spirals into a deeper storyline filled with political intrigue, shifting loyalties, and horrific twists that expose the true nature of the Organization and the terrifying awakened beings.
