I'm writing this review because I feel like people are a little unfair. At first, this anime is not suppose to be taken seriously. If you had a bad day at school or work, this is the perfect anime to shut down your brain and watch the Fairy Tail guild being themselves and having endless fun.
Story: The story is very basic. Team Natsu goes on quests, comes back, have a party or two, and goes on more quests. That's the first 100 episodes, where Hiro Mashima uses the first 7 major arcs to introduces characters that will be important for rest of the series.
...
The fun starts at Tenrou Island Arc, where we are introduced to the two main villains.
Art: The art is ok. It's nothing too special, but it is very vibrant. The character designs are basic but gets better as the show goes on.
Sound: This is where FT shines. Openings and Endings are amazing. The OSTs are also very good and some of the best in anime.
Characters: This is also a strong point to the series. The camaraderie among the character makes me want to join them. As Makarov stated "Do whatever you think is right! That's the way of the Fairy Tail Mages."
Enjoyment: I really enjoyed this anime. Not because of the great plot (to be fair, it really doesn't have much of a plot), rather than the endless fun it bring while watching. It is an anime that is guaranteed to make you laugh and cry.
