The path of the wind is a music video produced by the huge Studio Ghibli.While it has the usual ghibli look,it lacks the polish and refinement of its contemporaries(not required to make a music enjoyable of course,just something that seemed off to me)The mellow song sung by Sayuri Horishita although not falling into my favorite genres of music is quite good and fits the story depicted perfectly.Overall my experience with Kaze no Toori Michi was a plain,none the less a bit enjoyable one.Is this high on my reccomendations list? Of course not!But if you have the free time that I possess right now why not ... give it a go?I can say that its definetely not wasted time

Surely a product of its time with a pretty cliche story but i think you can really see small hints that of Hayao Miyazaki's famous directing even from back then.I don't know if he had any part in the animation department but it seems way more vibrant and fluid than any of the contemporaries of its era

Obviously it is a 4 minute short and its packed full of content with an easy to follow story,of course it leaves out almost all the details and what we get are only basic calicatures of characters but even that for such a small runtime is an achievement

Would reccomend ... just to see where it all started between Miyazaki and Ghibli and what that would eventually bring

If you have ever wanted an anime that captivates you and teaches you more things about science and technology than school does, well this is the anime for you
The Anime begins with a seemingly semi-routinely day at school for our protagonists Senku and Taiju while the former is running some kind of experiment and the latter is declaring to him about his confession of his true feelings to a girl close to both of them.
in the middle of speaking to her Taiju is blinded by a mysterious bright light and suddenly he, along with anyone on planet earth turns to stone then a montage of ... Japan eroding over the years ensues and we see our protagonists awakening and breaking out of the stone after roughly three thousand years and our journey begins
So what is the appeal of this anime? Well, for most people including me it would be the interesting narrative of Senku progressing through tens of thousands of years of science in a very short time, while a looming threat always awaits and failing or even falling behind is not an option. Personally, the idea sounded appealing to me and the first episodes dragged me in and me eager to see what Senku is gonna re-invent next. Is this anime for every shounen fan? No, the anime and manga don't have many physical battles its more about having an adventure through learning about science while trying to understand what got them petrified in the first place. Some episodes are pretty slow but I never found any particularly boring
While Senku begins as a very interesting character from the get-go, Taijou is a bit too two dimensional and doesn't have many characteristics apart from being against violence while having great endurance and being super strong and being in love with Yuzuriha. I was super happy then when a dozen of interesting characters like the main villain Tsukasa and his aversion to the progress of science if it means the revival of corrupted adults who will in time create unfair hierarchies and oppress younger people, the fellow scientist and rock collector Chrome who was born in the stone world and has been running interesting experiments and gathering precious metals long before meeting Senku
The animation is decent but sometimes not up to the mark of the manga but overall faithfully transfers Boichis beautiful art style from the paper on the screen. The openings and endings along with the complete soundtrack are terrific my favorites being (OP-GOOD MORNING WORLD ED-LIFE)
Overall I had a great time with the anime despite my few hang-ups and would encourage anyone to binge-read the manga(which in my opinion is one step above the anime as its better paced and the quality of the art is more consistent than the anime)after watching the anime to get the full experience

I know I'm a little late to the party,but here's what I thought of Wolf Children

-Story:Although the story wasnt the most complex i believe it achieved what it set out to,that being said i really liked the determination of Hana to provide the best life she can for her children even though many hardships occure.I especially enjoeyed the montages which showed the daily lifes of Hana and her kids both when the kids were toddlers and in elementary school.I felt it flowed really well and wasted close to none time

-Artstyle&Animation:I fell in love with the artstyle as soon as I watched The boy and the ... beast about a year ago and really liked its use in this movie too.The faces portray immense emotions that any viewer could relate to,and the movements of the characters are really fluid and when often paired with the incredibly beautiful hand drawn landscapes one can be lost for words.The few shots that we got of the town were unbelievably realistic not only aided by the amazing scenery produced by the animators but how crowded and alive it felt,the places where the second phase of the movie take place are also stunning in their own right.Altough I know this is something incredibly minute but I can't say i didn't notice some incredibly stiff cgi characters which took me out of it for a bit,but didnt really subtract from the overall experience

-Sound:The sound was pretty good though nothing phenomenal but the soundtrack and particullarly the ending theme moved me to tears.The seiyuus were also great despite this being the first voice acting job for most of them Ame's older voice weirded me out a bit because he sounded a bit older than he the character's supposed to be

-Characters:Seeing as there aren't many side characters,the main characters are fleshed out and we se their flaws and strong points.I notably enjoeyed how much Ame's character developed from when he was a frail wimpy kid who didn't really like assuming his wolf form to a more determined person who became more aware of the beauty of what surrounded him and didn't want to conform to his human form,which I honestly didn't expect from him but his sister who in the beggining was the extrovert and the noisy kid.I believe that the plotline between these two contains the somewhat sad message of the movie which I belive is that the children must at some point chose either side

-Overall this a movie that I believe anyone can enjoy if they view it as what it is and not what its not.Having only seen one other work from Mamoru Hosoda(The boy and the beast)I can say that this has encouraged me to consume all of his works.Anyway,this is what inspired me to write my first review,let me know what you thought of it and the movie by sending me a pm
