S2 is a definite continuation of s1, if you enjoyed s1 you will enjoy s2. If you were utterly tired of s1's format then s2 may not be for you,
though by the end of the season the fabled and much built up tournament is finally in sight.
Production value wise everything falls slightly, except actual direction work improves a bit, you can truly tell the director takes their work seriously.
Slowly, very slowly, but surely, the worldbuilding and mysteries are drip fed and revealed, it just makes you want more.
By ep 24 I felt very grateful that ishura got 24 episodes, its a special series

I never write reviews, but ishura deserves one. I've watched s1 and s2 so far, and if s3 doesnt come it will be a pity (read the LN!)
At first I thought ishura would just be another generic aahh isekai, but nah ep 1 is immediately different with animation to back it up. It's a show that requires your investment, but you will be rewarded with enough world building to get crushed under. The episodic revealing of key characters for 24 episodes straight (s1-s2) is a weakness, but also ihsura's core strength. This is my first anime review so you might want to expect some cringe :/
Only 6 episodes of the anime has come up as of the time that I wrote this review. The only things you need to know is that Knight's and Magic is a light novel adaptation, is usually a upbeat anime so don't expect a lot of tension or grittiness. And if your looking for an anime that has has weight and a heavy plot than you MIGHT want to skip it. As for light novel adaptations they will most likely not have a lot of the extra information that is in the light ... |
