Story 1: You know the famous saying don't judge a book by it's cover? Well this is one of those cases; I first thought the cover was pretty decent and expected at least an interesting plot. The story is just awful, the story begins with Roa, the ignorant protagonist who is sent on a mission to 'breed' with the decent of the quetzcoalt so he transform into a Shenlong look alike dragon and flies into the human world. It's OK at first but then you see the failed attempts at creating humor from dragon humans and random addition scenes which were not ... needed. Later you get introduction to characters that are quite the cliche for the new transfer student as well as the scenario for a new transfer student. The girls all woo over him but then his reputation gets tarnished by perverted accidents caused by his ignorance and then gets shunned by the girls. He makes himself the secret hero who doesn't get any credit for his doing to prevent standing out and being discovered as a dragon race. The story overall is very unimpressive with no flow to as what the big picture is. I'm not sure about others but the attempt at comedy is just horrid; ALL the scenes where you can see obvious desires to create humor is at its worst or at least cheesy.

Art: The art is nothing too special but it is fairly decent. Many of the characters drawn all share similar features that at times make it hard to identify who they are without having their names in dialogues. The art has no seriousness and pretty plain at best; not the most eye catching artwork and backgrounds are effortless.

Character:
Roa: Another cliche ignorant protagonist who has been isolated from modern society and thrown into the city for a mission. The author attempts to show Roa's personality through his ignorance from saving a girl in a burning building despite his disliking of him. There's nothing too special about Roa except what you can expect from someone who gets into trouble and constant misunderstandings from his isolated history.

So, Ahn:
The ditzy girl who is obviously the descendant of the queztcoalt that Roa is looking for. She crosses fires with him and plays the tsundere who is constantly saved by Roa but does not find out he saved him. She has a romantic interest a teacher and simply drools over him and shows no current interest in Roa. Ahn is carefree and clearly not the brightest of the bunch with no 'idol features' you see in common ecchi manwhas.

Enjoyment: I read up to 5 chapters(furthest translated) despite my early dislike for it for a weak and boring plot. I would have stopped after the first few pages but I didn't feel right if I didn't give the series more of a try. I did and I am very disappointed the author didn't realize his characters had no development and his plot becomes more and more obnoxious with each passing page.

Overall: I probably won't continue reading this series and would definitely not recommend this read to anyone, though young readers might enjoy it.

Story:10
The plot of this series is unique from most of the published manga in the same genre. The story begins with Oga, the protagonist finding a baby and becomes forced to care for him. The baby, Beelzebub(Hebrew for devil) is the heir to become the next king of the underworld but to become a being worthy of the seat he must be raised by a powerful human-which is Oga. The story mixes comedy and action in a smooth flow where the comedy doesn't stray from the story. Despite the protagonist's lack of common sense he is often reliable(the end justifies the ... means) and more than just an ordinary delinquent. Overall the story is very enticing with a balance of comedy and action.

Art: 8
The art is pretty clean in most cases and if I might add probably one of the best artwork for stories revolving around a delinquent. The characters are well drawn, no real slackoffs, and facial expressions help improve the humor of the story/dialogues.

Character: 9
Oga- The anti-hero or just the carefree not your average delinquent type of protagonist you'll usually get. Oga is infamous in his school where delinquency is 130% if I recall correctly for being the most powerful. Many of the groups in the school detest and fear Oga because he stands in their way of dominating the school. Oga usually doesn't pick the fights but the fights come to him and he's usually one to avoid fights however in most situations he gets in involve comedic reasons and test of his strength. Oga unlike the other groups of delinquents in the school has no interest in power but due to his idiocy he gets involved in every struggle for power that happens in and outside of school.

Baby Beelzebub IV: Baby Bel as he's referred to in the manga often appears hanging off the back of Oga butt naked anywhere he goes. From time to time Baby Bel would not be latched onto Oga's back but usually proceeding in humorous activities. Baby Bel despite being the next King of Hell he is often portrayed physically weak but when his emotions get the best of him he is capable of massive destruction, that or when he is 20ft or more away from Oga.

Furuichi: Oga's best if not only friend in the series who gets dragged in every scenario despite if he does or does not have any relevance in it. He is at most times a failed womanizer and a coward when things get rough but he's usually there for Oga when he needs advice-though many of the advices are criticism and appeals to Oga's ignorance/stupidity.

Hildegarda: Baby Bel's eternal servant who she claims, "exist to serve Baby Bel" and often has no regards or interest in anything that does not involve Baby Bel. She is at most times cynical and cold towards anyone besides Bel and you would see her be portrayed as the mother bluejay defending her eggs from outsiders. She, like Baby Bel is a demon and possess supernatural powers that she rarely displays but does if the situation calls for it. Oga's family see her as the mother of Baby Bel...and Oga is the father.

Enjoyment: This manga was particularly entertaining and unique from other mangas. The story might start off a bit sketch but the overall series is entertaining and humorous.

Overall: 9-The story, characters, and art were spectacular all blending in to create a unique story. The chapters in the series are a bit short though-20 pages average, and usually leaves a cliff hanger at the end of every chapter(like most but it really leaves a cliff hang grand canyon high).

Kurosagi (Manga) add

Story:Ok, so you get this kid who had a bad past-common character background. He seeks retribution against all swindlers because his father was driven into debt by the swindlers and attempted to kill his family then himself. Of course the protagonist survives but the rest of his family was no so fortunate. He gets taken in or begs to be taken in by a notorious swindler who is currently an underground bartender that deals with selling information. So he goes around stealing from the rich and giving it to the poor metaphorically and becomes the ant-hero story to story. There ... IS NO climax; the plot is as plain as it is, the techniques he uses to swindle are horribly thought out and very unimpressive that leaves you in huge disappointment. His access to tricks in his bag makes it almost modern fantasy story with no interesting point that draws you in. You'll see the protagonist pull up methods that would never be likely in anything but the early 1900s where you'll wonder, "how dumb do you have to be to be scammed by these brainless scammers(literally)."Overall this was a VERY disappointing manga; if you're interested in something interesting avoid this.

Art: The art isn't very current or "new" despite being published in 2004. The art style suits more of the late 80s and 90s manga art.

Character:

Kurosaki-Character development was not very deep nor a highlight part of the manga. You get Kurosagi who is the anti-hero of the story with some dark past he gets angry when brought up and triesto play the cliche guy that tries not to get anyone involved because of the dangers and doesn't try to get close to anyone. You see his motives are pure but his methods aren't and the author tries too hard to get him seen as the cool wannabe genius swindler.

Yoshikawa, Tsurara-Then you get the female neighbor although who doesn't play much of a part in the story you'll see it get squeezed in as L from death note. She basically attempts to be the one kurosaki can open up to-which he does not, and tries to be the true sign of justice. Because of her interest in becoming a lawyer kurosaki tries to push her away so she doesn't become tainted.

Kashima, Masaru- And at long last you have the vigilante cop/detective who believes he is the true justice and above the law. He plays it tough using threats and blackmail to get to the truth or at least some tips on hunting down Kurosaki. Simply the menace of the story just so the manga isn't limited to only one and a half characters.

Enjoyment- I thought I liked it at first but then I gave it some thought. Man did I waste a large amount of my time. Many readers often continue to read manga from a certain series because the story is actually interesting or something unique that draws interest, however this manga isn't either. This manga has little plan in where its actually going and it seems like things are just thrown in together with no climatic discovery. Unlike other battle of the wits mangas this one tarnishes the genre; the techniques Kurosaki uses are extremely simple and utterly unlikely where there are no twists or turns that are planned out. The author simply makes things happen as they go. I would honestly not recommend reading this if you favor Death Note, Code Geass, or Liar Game.
