So I finally got to reading this thing. I probably chose the worst time, since during depression season, the last thing you need is even more sadness.

A great series exploring themes of "growing up" and "moving on". Has inconsistent pacing and tonality, from juggling between slice of life and horror. This means I often realized a conflict existed when the conflict was already over, but also made every jump-scare or reaction shot that much more effective, since you never knew when something horrible will happen, when another friend will die.

That was the first half. The second half is much weaker, first losing the themes, then ...

A lovely story about the awkwardness of a first love.

A beautiful journey, but I think I would appreciate the show much better, if I were like 8 years younger.

All the displayed experiences are handled rather well, albeit a bit too positive at times.

Found the opening and ending a bit too bland sound-wise. The ending had some beautiful art, which cannot be said about the opening, which was mostly stock footage from the episodes.

Everything the girls did, made me feel warm and cozy.
But every time they talked, I would get an existential crisis.

The setting is more mysterious than Attack on Titan + Made in Abyss, but once they finally reveal something, you just get such a terrible despair strike.

Perfect timing too, right after I get filled with hope from finishing Sakura Quest.

The strongest part of the anime is the contrast between the character design and environments design.

But now that I am done with it, comes the question. Why did I watch it? Why should anyone watch it? You come to watch cute ...

Sakura Quest (Anime) add
It may not be the anime of the year, or of the season. It's not even on my list of favourites, but it was a great show, one that I will cherish for a long time.

The characters were foolish, naive, full of empty enthusiasm, yet that's exactly what made them human, what made them relatable.

The plot structure showed me that you don't need a development arc for each character, instead the characters are growing all the time, learning new things, improving themselves. A human doesn't just grow for 5 days per month, he grows constantly, and that's what this show did to its characters, even ...
