The first part of this is filler-level boring. Only worth it for the nudity. The second half gets better and actually resembles a shounen battle anime. The ending felt rushed... as always with these animes. There were emotional topics that deserved a bit more screen time that were glossed over rather quickly. I can't say I felt satisfied with it ending like that. A deeper dive into the mindset of characters would have been great.
Art is pretty much the same as first season. Felt a bit worse in some places but maybe that's just me.

I started watching this because of the opening being done by fripSide. In the end, the opening, ending and I guess also the music was the only legitimately good part of this anime. The art fluctuates from okay to bad. The story and characters are pretty random and dumb. The love-comedy part of this anime is truly wonderful and deserves a solid 8 while the actual lore and battle part of the anime is a right mess.
The final episodes of the anime were mostly of the second type and thus hampered my enjoyment quite significantly. So much that I sometimes even opted to browse the web instead of watching the battle scenes unfold. It didn't help that the actual mechanics the IS operate seem to be completely random and defies set rules when it feels like doing so. Fine if it were a new series, failure as a sequel.
There's two big problems I have with this sequel and one minor problem. Let's start with the minor one. Entire art style changed. Lots of bloom everywhere for no reason. It's like watching a sequel to a video game, if you know what I mean. Character art remained the same with the exception of a few key characters. The main male character had a minor makeover which is totally okay but other characters started suffering from sameface syndrome and there was a time in the anime where I wasn't sure who a character was and was ...

A good plot which lasted for a few episodes and was then ruined by a complete wimp and unintelligent main character. The series started out good but with every episode fell lower and lower.
The forced teenage drama devalued this series hugely. I hesitate to even call it teenage drama since it was seemingly just pulled out of nowhere and didn't really make any sense at all. A good anime on its own but as a sequel it took a really wrong direction.
The first season was really something special with its mix of romance, human life and youkai world. This anime, however, ditched all that and became all about the youkai world and strongly resembles your typical shounen battle anime. Nothing wrong with that, but after watching the first season I was really hoping for more of the same and thus I'm really disappointed. Wow, way to shit on a series. The OVA that should not have been.
The first episode just fucks up the series royally and after having watched the series it is hard to see that as canon. The second episode is a bit better but in the end still feels off-canon and weird. Also, it includes spoilers since it skips quite a few volumes. If you like Noragami, do yourself a favour and don't watch this till you've watched everything else. Since this review was supposedly still not long enough, I'll have to write some more. This anime is very hard to fully understand with subtitles only and I reckon most anime watchers will miss much of the content of Joshiraku.
But even then the contents are nothing special and the show does not appeal to me one bit. The puns aren't anything to laugh about (they are neither interesting nor funny). The setting is boring and episodes' plots are lame. I enjoyed the opening and ending and the voice acting crew was good too but those are all secondary. Joshiraku is not my cup of tea but I guess there might be people who enjoy this kind of stuff, since the show isn't ...

Maybe I just didn't need any healing but this "healing story" came off as a bland and boring time-waste.
It tried to be wise and nonchalant but ended up just being boring. Neither the art or sound is anything special either. It is just your average very Japanese like show trying to put some pseudo-wise lines in an anime where nothing happens. And finally - photography. I've yet to see any medium show it in interesting light. Maybe that's just me but photography is an uninteresting subplot.
