Yare yare, I expected nothing of this serie, but you can see on my profile that it's one of my favorite now.
My sister forced me to watch it, and GOD THIS IS WHY I LOVE MY SISTER.
There are some very minor spoilers, but I don't think it would affect the show.

Story: 8
We follow the life of Saiki Kusuo, a medium student with incredible powers. But he hates his powers and try to hide them, because he don't want to be the center of attention, but his "friends" are annoying with him.
That's it. That's the plot. And I don't need more.

idea to make a slice of life based of an overpowered character that would be op in a nekketsu, we can see everyday situations with the point of view of this op character. The episodes are really short, it's a lot of time just some random life episodes without any context, but sometimes there are story arcs, and it's really good too.

Probably the worst point in the show, the art is pretty bad for a 2016 anime (2018 for season two !), and there is no big animation budjet, but I will not say this is an ugly anime. I don't remember having seen an ugly srcreenshot, exept when the characters are far, and it's still pleasant to watch. The chara designs are very good and originals, seriously, you can immediatly recognise Saiki and Nendou without hesitations !

The basic ost are not really recognizable, but they pass without problem, but there is one exeption: The ost Judgement knight of thunder, which appears a lot of time when Kaidou is doing something badass. If this anime was a epic action anime, I think it could be the main ost. The funniest thing is when the ost start but then get suddently cut XD
THE VOICE ACTING !
They are always speaking very fast, especially Saiki, that make this anime funnier because the jokes follows one another quickly. The voice are amazing too, there are really expressive and funny, and the actors are PERFECT. Kamiya Hiroshi as Saiki Kusuo, Ono Daisuke as Nendou, Shimazaki Nobunaga as Kaidou, Kayano Ai as Teruhashi,etc.
The openings are greats. The first one is chill but the music is really good (sung by Toritsuka!) but the ending is funny and crazy, and conversely for the op and ed 2.

One of my favorite point !
The characters are VERY VERY stereotypical. Nendou is very stupid, Kaidou is like a dark character in his head (but he is really not), Teruhashi is like the perfect girl everyone simp for, Hairo is the sportive guy, Toritsuka the pervert, Kuboyasu the delinquent, Mera the greedy, Yumehara the shy lover, Saiko the rich guy.
And thoses stereotypes are grossly exaggerated, so much that it makes the characters reconizables and enjoyable. Teruhashi is the perfect girl, and she knows it, so she is acting perfectly but she is kind of selfish in her head and act like a living angel. In any kind of anime, I would hate her, but this is so exaggerated that it's funny, and it make a good identity, that's why I can't dislike her. Saiki is always bored and just want to be alone and live a normal life, but every time he is happy or have any kind of normal emotion, I can't stop to be happy.
Enjoyement: 10
First I was watching it as a anime to watch when I am bored, but I finished to watch it as a normal anime to watch every day. Almost every episodes made me laugh, and when it didn't, I was just feelling like watching a group of very strange friends in a slice of life anime. I was not disapointed with anything (I just hate Kokomi's brother he is weird and unhealthy) and I loved following the story of Saiki and his "friends" and family. And the more it goes, the less I have to put quotation marks between the word "friends". This show breaks a lot of time the fourth wall, it looks like Saiki knows that he is in a anime, and there are a lot of references to other animes, and I love when a anime do that.

It was amazingely pleasant to watch, after that I watched Saiki Kusuo no psi nan 2, and the ONA and special. I was crying of laughter a looooot of time, but I was so sad when I finished it, but I can rewatch it anytime and never being bored. (fact: I am french, and I tested the french dub in the ONA idk why there is a french dub only on this ONA, but It is really good for a french dub !)Even my mother laughed, seriously XD
So I recommend Saiki Kusuo no psi nan if you like this kind of humor, and if you need to laugh and watch a really strange slice of life.
I hope this rewiew is helpful, or I hope that you know more why do I love this anime !
