Sleep inducing. I somehow made it through this anime, but almost every episode made me almost fall asleep. And I am serious about this. If you have insomnia just watch this; it is a great cure.
I thought the first season was good, but this one is filled with endless talking about some of the most boring subjects imaginable. They just talk for ages explaining very simple concepts, but it takes them almost a full episode to explain something that isn't complicated.
The main character is dumb. In, I think episode 3, he is warned that Falmour (or something like that) will wage war because they want
...
power. This person tells him the reason why they will attack. About 2 episodes later, the protagonist has forgotten and says something like 'I cannot figure out why they would attack.' You were just told an episode ago! Does he have short-term memory loss?
In the midst of these troubles and threats, the main character decides to take a trip to meet his students in another city. Great timing! He teleports there for pretty much no reason but to put the main character in that place. There is no other reason for him to be there.
And I bet you can guess what happens next! Yes, a great surprise happens when Falmour attacks his territory whilst he is away. But the reason he can't back is even more stupid than him leaving.
The main character has the ability to teleport directly from the city back to his territory, but he decides not to do that. He decides to ride out of the front gate and teleport from outside the city where he gets trapped by a spell. This spell stops him from teleporting and he gets attacked. If he just teleported from the city (the sensible thing), he would never have that issue.
The most annoying thing, though, is when one of his allies dies. There is a lot of boohoo and upset for about 10 minutes, but this turns out to be pointless because the main character revives the person about 5 minutes later. A completely pointless storyline. It would be better if they stayed dead or, at least, left them dead for far longer.

This is enjoyable to read, but do not buy into the 10/10 ratings. Not even the best stories in the world are 10/10, and this does not meet those standards, anyway.
The story has an interesting premise with Rachel leaving to climb a tower, and the main character, Bam, following after her. This plot point is fine for the start, but I found it takes too long for the character to get any other motive for climbing the tower. He is pretty much obsessed with this Rachel for about 90% of the chapters that I have read. I won't spoil it, but considering what happens
...
earlier in the story, this should have been sorted out far earlier. The pacing was pretty poor for this point and resulted in a lull in the middle of the story, and turns Bam into a dislikeable idiot who will sacrifice anything and everything for quite some time. And yet his friends still stick with him, despite him preferring to continue chasing Rachel even if they all die. There is no reason for his friends to stick with him.
There are some decent characters in the story, but some of them become tiring. One character (a giant lizard) keeps repeating the same joke for 500 chapters. It becomes pretty boring to read. His character has not actually changed since the beginning, and this is a problem for quite a few others. There is not enough development, and quite a lot of them feel like throwaway characters. Another character that they make quite a fuss of in the first season sort of disappears, but shows up very randomly.
The main character, Bam, has ultimate plot armour. In fact there is a story device in it that explains his plot armour, which means you will never feel that he is ever threatened. Everything will always work out for him due to his powers continually adapting to save him from any situation. This limits the quality of the story and renders it into a power-growth fest. His plot armour is part of the lore.
Pacing is a real issue with this story. There are some plot lines that have seen no development for 300 or so chapters. You would think the writer has maybe changed his mind about them and just brushed them under the carpet, but references appear every so often to these plotlines that show they are not dead. He still plans to do them, but it has been so long that I do not care about them anymore, nor the characters related to them.
The art style starts off alright at the beginning, but it improves a lot later on. A massive improvement happens after season 1, so do not hold the art against this. It is one of the major reasons I have given this a 7. It makes it an enjoyable and semi-mindless read. With lesser art, this would be a six as the story is average.

This a review for the full War of Underworld arc. This contains spoilers. Also, it may be painful to read because of the amount of stupidity with the following issues.
There are so many plot holes and inconsistencies that appear throughout this arc, and they appear more frequently as the episodes go on.
- The power of friendship is a massive thing here. The power of friendship is so powerful it can now heal disabilities. Amazing.
- Kirito. The guy keeps getting praise for sitting in a wheelchair with a broken mind. People keep thanking them for saving their life, but he didn't do anything. Why is
...
he getting praise for sitting down?
- The whole idea is that you can access the Underworld through the STL. This is even confirmed in War of Underworld season 1, but then the story completely backtracks on that idea and allows players to access the world through VR headsets. What is the point of the STL if this was always possible?
- Somehow players of the real world can have their minds controlled through a VR headset. This happens in the second season. What? When did this become a thing? Did someone somehow miss that you can take control of someone's mind through the VR headsets?
- The idea of levels. There was no levelling system in the first season of Alicization, so why does having high-levelled characters transfer over make any difference whatsoever? There is a weapon authority, but that doesn't exist in any other game world so the benefit of doing this makes no sense.
- The lack of a pain absorber. This seems to have no effect on the characters whatsoever. They get their limbs cut off (and are supposed to feel the real thing), but they barely flinch. It seems like getting your arm cut off feels like a graze in this world. Just a bit of a sting.
- [SPOILER] Sinon gets a medallion from nowhere that keeps saving her life. She asks ' Where did this come from?'. Yeah, I would also like to know where the ultra powerful defence medallion came from, also. She then thanks Kirito for no reason whatsoever.
- [Spoiler] Leafa allows herself to be torture raped for no reason. She says she has to hold on because she needs to learn more about the world. What more do you need to know about this person than them torturing you? A few minutes later, after going through that, she decides to cut the perpetrators arms off with ease. It was a needless struggle because she was far more powerful to being with. How about you use your power to subdue the person if you want answers?
- The antagonist's motivation is stupid. Somehow he can eat or taste souls, even in the real world. But then it discards that idea and just turns him into a rapist. It was a stupid idea to begin with, but the follow up is worse. None of this was actually needed to make him an enemy; the writer just wanted to make him even darker, but it adds nothing to the story.
- The magic system of 'System Call' is almost forgotten about. You have a magic system and it isn't even used. It was a dumb magic system as they seemed to be no limitation so long as you know the words, but why didn't the army teach the people how to use it? Everyone could be throwing fireballs then.
There is more, but this is enough to show how bad arc really is.

After the first season, I found this somewhat disappointing. Not in terms of storyline or characters, but in terms of the animation and art design.
This has taken huge steps back from the first season that had quite a unique style that fitted with the storyline and characters. But with this one, it has lost a lot of the feeling that the first season carried. The main character is now unrecognisable aside from the voice, and now he looks like a generic anime protagonist instead of the more unique style of the first season.
It is not only his looks that is off but also the facial
...
expressions. In the first season, he seems more conserved in his expressions but it isn't supposed to be from shyness or anything like that. He still smiles a bit, but in this one, he is way too smiley. It doesn't fit with the character.
It isn't just him, though. All the characters seem off and just don't generally look as well done. I mean the art standard is actually of lower quality for the characters themselves. Particularly Mucheng, who I think looks quite bad in comparison. And the lighting detracts from the overall quality.
I am surprised some reviews think the animations are better because I, again, think they have taken a huge step back, particularly in the fights. The first season seemed to animate every stroke of the sword/spear at high speed clashing with the opposition that made it feel like these were really skilled gamers. This one doesn't have that, instead choosing to cover the strikes with far too many big flashes so you can't see anything.
The art itself carries less detail and, again, undermines the unique feeling that the first one gave off. The music has also lost the vibe of the first series. It is a shame that the original studio wasn't available to do this season.
I voted the first season a 9, but this one I have to only give a 7. It still has a good story and is enjoyable, but it just doesn't reach the highs of the first. It has become more generic than it was in the first season, which is a shame.

I actually thought this was pretty mundane. The first arc which carries for 11 chapters has no excitement. The opponent is a bunch of squiggly lines (you'll understand when you see it) and is not at all compelling. Also, no answers are given to why they even do what they are doing, and, to be honest, I don't really care. It just wasn't interesting.
The second arc of this season is mumbo jumbo. It lasts for two episodes and is too rushed with a ridiculously convenient event happening that causes some threat. It is hard to explain without giving away the plot, but there is no
...
real threat until this event.
The protagonist's main contribution to the plot is to monologue and explain really obvious things to us. I swear 70% of this season is him just standing around and monologuing. He does not have much impact on the plot.
Incest; it was bad in the first series, but that pales in comparison to the romance between the sister and brother in this one. Really uncomfortable to watch. Also, the sister is annoying as hell and constantly says oni-sama in a screechy voice (practically forms 90% of her lines). She is constantly there; all I was thinking is 'go away! - Why are you even there?'

The first half of the first series is pretty good but gets tiresome as it is just rinse and repeat for the rest. The second season is a waste of time.
I'm not entirely sure about the fuss around this anime. It starts off well, but it is the definition of dragged-out. The whole story just goes on far too long. It would be better if it lasted 24 episodes maximum (although, I think even that would be too long), but full amount was far too much and it strayed into some ridiculous territories.
Even the first season is far from perfect. A flaw in the plot
...
is that it never establishes whether supernatural elements are known in the world. And because of that, it seems absurd how the main character even becomes a suspect. It is a bit far fetched that he comes under suspicion with absolutely no evidence at all.
It feels a bit like they are trying to make it intelligent, but there is no connection between the main character and the crime. The only way he could become connected is if the detective gets hold of the thing that is causing the deaths. Without this, it is unbelievable that you would ever get put on a lead as there is no other evidence. (You will understand if you watch it).
Still, it is entertaining watching the conflict between the characters for the first half of the first season. It does start to get boring, though, as it becomes a fest of repeating the same thing over and over again. There are only so many times you can see the main character do the same thing.
It is still pretty good, but I am not blown away by it. I have seen and read better detective/criminal conflicts before and it just doesn't hold up. It has an interesting premise, but not enough to hold out for the full amount of episodes.
The premise is interesting, but it has an inherent flaw. Imagine trying to hunt an animal that leaves absolutely no tracks, no scent, no markings, nothing. How do you hunt something like that? The answer is that you can't. If you watch this, you will understand what I mean.

Up to this point, I would rate it as 6.5 with the expectation of reaching 7.5 by the end of the series. So, I will round up to a 7 for now.
First point: watch the OVA - Noblesse: Awakening as this covers the start of the Noblesse Manwha. This anime series starts in chapter 2.
The beginning of the Manwha is very slow with very little happening for the first 100 chapters. In truth, it was in need of severe editing and cutting, which the anime has done well. It has removed unnecessary scenes and characters that add nothing to the main story, and instead just
...
end up slowing down the pace of the Manwha. The anime has considerably increased the pace of the story, but it is still quite slow for the first five episodes. The sixth sees a considerable increase in pace.
To explain how slow the Manwha is. Likely what is episode 6 now would not have even been in this series. When you watch it, you will understand if we didn't get to episode 6, the story would have no real progression at all.
Overall, with the OVA, the story is understandable. There are few things that might not make sense at this time, but expect explanations to appear very soon for certain aspects. A lot of the explanations are not given at the start of the story.
There is some misunderstanding about the main character. Even though the story is about Raizel, a lot of it is not told from his point of view. Instead, most of it is told from the characters that are surrounding him. This is why you do not see Raizel as much as you are possibly expecting.
The art is different from the usual anime you see. It has its own character and the action is not as over the top up to this point but has the scope to grow. A lot of anime make the mistake of showing incredible power at the beginning and leave no real room to make them look any stronger in the future. It a mistake which has not been copied here.
The characters still have a lot of room for development, but up to this point, two of the main characters are still secretive about their role in the story.
I would wait until the 12/13 episodes are released as I think this series will be better watched in a single/two sittings than waiting week after week.
