The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses is a show about our MC (Kasukabe Hayato) returning from college upon learning of his grandmother's death. After returning to his grandmother's café (his childhood home) he learns that she had hired 5 girls to work as part-time employees. Hayato, simply thinking in his best interests, decides to demolish and turn the café into a parking lot because it would be more profitable. After a series of events though, Hayato changes his mind and decides to run the café whilst taking the girls under his care.
The premise isn't anything special or interesting, but it isn't bad either as it
...
does a decent job of laying the groundwork for the romance and scenarios in the story.
The characters are... alright. If you've watched The Quintessential Quintuplets, the characters in this show are pretty much a copy of the characters in that show. The characters themselves also have a lot of tropes within them. They're not bad per se, but they do feel a little generic.
Hayato as the MC is nice since he really is serious about running his grandmother's café as well as taking care of the girls. It's also refreshing to see him treat the girls like family and not immediately view them in a romantic sense.
The animation and soundtracks are solid, though it's all personal preference at the end of the day.
The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses, is it anything spectacular, no, but I think it's executed decently well and if you enjoy shows such as The Quintessential Quintuplets you'll probably like it despite its tropes and shortcomings.
