This series is great at their single episode character arks and keeping their watchers on the edge of their seats, but lack in many other areas.
Story - 6
I enjoyed this story. it's not groundbreaking, but it can hold its own. the story being based around people without emotions determining where dead peoples souls go after death. with only fragments of a persons life shown at any time. this allows the audience to grow their own opinions on the situations each person is in. The overarcing lesson of this series is strong, However there are some serious flaws.
The arbiters which are the emotion-less dummies that judge
...
a persons soul aren't as said. they show obvious emotion, such as Ginti (Red-Haired Guy) who shows obvious amonts of anger and moodiness. This flaw made me lose focus on some of the story and made me lose a bit of interest. However, past this major flaw the story is compitent and enjoyable.
I will however parade the ice-skating scene in episode 11, I'll not spoil it, but it is possibly the peak of the series. The ending is mildly rewarding, giving a strong finish to the main characters, but don't fix the overarching problem of the series. a lot is left to think of at the end of the series, but I wish there was more.
Art - 6
Really nothing ground-breaking. Character emotion isn't nearly as strong as other series and there is not much action. The art is consistent though and I am very happy with the way that flash-backs were used.
Sound -5
The opening (Flyers by Bradio) is one of my favourite Openings ever, I loved listening to it before i'd even watched the original series. However, the ending and background music are both very subpar. The Opening is a banger though.
Characters - 6
I'm not very impressed with the main characters, they are very bland. I understand that's the point, but even Chiyuki isn't very emotional and she's a human.
Decim is one of the main characters in partnership with Chiyuki. He's an arbiter who of course doesn't show any emotion, he's the only real arbiter that keeps to that rule. He is developed over the series and has a nice ending, although the change isn't increadibly big.
Chiyuki is the other main character with Decim. She is human and works with Decim for a span of three months. She does grow through the story and she has the best ending to any character in this series. I will however criticise the lack of emotion she shows all throughout the series. I would have prefered more emotion showed by her.
Nona is the third main character, she is the overarching boss of Decim and Nona. She does a lot of things behind the series and its interesting to see the consequences. However she isn't very fleshed out and she definietly needs more.
There are multiple side characters that add nearly nothing to the series, aside from Oculus. the old man that runs the place. the rest are almost completely useless.
Overall - 6
This series has a very strong message, but lacks in many different ways. The opening is amazing, but the rest of the music is average. The art is also very average and the characters could be better. However, I found this series a good watch just for the views it shows on death. I would reccomend.

I walked into this series like I did with angel beats; I knew it was a sad series. I strived on watching it with no prejudice and I did, but I was still warry of how I felt about angel beats (not very well). I was pleasantly surprised on how well done this series is in every way. The story, characters and music we’re amazing.
Story – 8
Although I had a few problems with the paranormal aspects of this series, it is still extremely grounded in reality. With the way menma is portrayed and how she still abides by physics, although having no shadow and
...
reflection. The dialogue is amazing, the plot stays consistent throughout the whole series, and I found no problems with timing. This story is a perfect example of how different children come to terms with death. It’s amazing at portraying the mental and physical effects of a child’s trauma and has a very effective life lesson on how to deal with a situation like this.
The death of Menma is heavy for every character they blame themselves for her death. The story aims to teach each character to forgive themselves. it’s amazingly easy to relate to each character and it’s hard not to see why each character is having troubles.
Art – 8
It’s good, there is a bit of irregular CGI in the backgrounds or foregrounds of this series and the way that the characters express emotion is exceptional, something on the level of a Ghibli or Miyazaki movie. The art is consistent and fluid and truly a sight to behold, with beautiful backgrounds and a nice relaxing style.
Sound – 9
Wow. That’s all I can say. The OP and ED are amazing with some phenomenal background music. I will say that once you finish the series you won’t be able to listen to the OP or ED without at least feeling a little sad.
Characters – 9
These are some of the best built characters I have ever seen and as such I will go in depth to all of them.
Jinta is the main focus of the main characters. He was the leader of the group but has become a massive NEET that skips school and plays games all the time. He is quite a dick as well, being quite cynical towards girls. He is quite cynical due to his own personal guilt; he feels guilt due to running off during an argument in the group. With the help of Menma he brings his friends back together and they all aim to achieve Menma’s Wish. He the main influencer of the series and bring the characters together.
Anaru was the nerd of the group, being into games and manga. She later split from the group and became one of the popular girls ditching her glasses. She blames herself for Menma’s death because she sparked the argument that later lead to her death. She is happy on the outside, but she conforms to her surroundings and can’t express her feelings. She also has feelings for Jinta, causing quite a bit of mischief. She feels out done by menma and is spiteful because of that. She is one of the first people that are introduced to jinta in the series and helps along the way immensely.
Poppo is the happy go-lucky character of the series and is portrayed as the character that isn’t really worried about anything. This is until the 2nd to last episode where he cracks, he feels guilty because he saw Menma die and didn’t help. He froze in fear and he can’t live it down so he travels the world to see other things. He immediately helps Jinta in his quest and is one of the light-hearted aspects of this series.
Chiriko is the stoic and quiet girl of the group and doesn’t change much in the series, staying as the character that watches and understands whats wrong. She also has emotions for Matsuykui and feels outdone by Menma, she also hass massive problems with self-doubt and can’t express herself as an artist. She blames herself for not helping in the argument and she is the one that doesn’t help much in the series.
My least liked character in the series is Matsuyuki. He is the sort of rival for Jinta and opposes most of his points. He can’t let go of the love he has for Menma and the way he copes with it is incredibly unhealthy. He is angry and spiteful; he feels outdone by Jinta and feels that he can never win against him. He feels guilty because he couldn’t properly express his love for Menma before she died.
Menma is the driving force of this series. She comes back to Jinta as a ghost that only he can see and this works exceptionally well in the series. She pushes Jinta to bring everyone back together and she brings all of the bottled emotions of the characters to the table. She’s never explained why or how she got there, but she doesn’t need too. She is in the body of a teenager, but she still has the childish nature she had when she died.
These characters are a perfect example of why a backstory is important to a character.
Overall – 9
I find it incredibly hard to give anything a ten, because I believe that nothing is perfect. This however is one of the best anime I have ever seen, with the most intensely built characters ever. Not my favourite and not a series I will watch often, but it’s incredibly to see how amazing a story with an incredibly important message can be made. Truly one of the closest anime I’ve ever seen to a Ghibli or Miyazaki movie.

Nekopara is a fun, ecchi story about cat girls running a café. Based off the hit video game it’s quite fun to watch and enjoy.
Story – 8
With a well written universe that incorporates cat girls in a believable way, it’s fun to see these cats act. The dialogue is reasonable and it’s fun to see the arguments between some of the cats.it shares many of the ideas from the games and it’s great to see these stories in animation form. There is a story that lasts through out the whole season and the story stays quite consistent throughout.
Art – 8
I enjoy the style, it’s not
...
exactly like the games, but it is quite nice. The art stays consistent through the series and its fluid. It’s fun to see characters emotions and the art allows the characters to express emotion really well.
Sound – 7
I quite enjoy the OP and ED, but I can’t say the same about the background music. It’s kind of overpowering and I found it annoying.
Characters – 7
I enjoy most of the characters, aside from a select few I enjoyed the way they interacted. My favourite is probably maple; she’s more cynical which is a nice break from the massive amount of cute. The rest of the characters are competent and I enjoy the interactions between all of them. Only two of the characters grow throughout the series, but it’s fun to see how some characters stay the same.
Overall – 8
It’s a fun series with an enjoyable cast of characters; the OP and ED are great. The story is good, but it’s not perfect. The art is pretty similar to that of the games, but it’s weird to see them fully animated. Not bad Nekopara, Not bad at all.

I thoroughly enjoyed this series, a fun if not crazy series. The characters are enjoyable, but what takes the cake is the suspense from the games. The story is pretty simple, but compliments the universe and characters very well.
Story – 8
Nothing special, a very normal point A to point B story that allows some character growth. The amazing thing of this series is the universe and games, each and every game I was hypnotised with. A completely new game or spin on an old game is fun to watch. With incredible suspense and depth, it’s a very enjoyable story.
Art – 8
Oh boy is the animation
...
good. I love the emotions that the animators give to the characters, extremely exaggerated, but it work’s extremely well. The CGI is well hidden and is almost completely unnoticeable.
Sound – 7
Not Bad, I like the opening and ending, but the background music is kind of meh.
Characters – 5
They are definitely cardboard cut outs, I wish they embellished the characters and built more depth around these characters but its fun.
Jabami Yumeko is the main character and is completely insane, every game she plays slowly decends into complete insanity and makes me concerned for the rest of the characters.
Suzui Ryota is the main character for the first two episodes and is completely useless and has no clue what is going on…. Ever.
Mary Saotome is another character that gets destroyed by Yumeko in the first few episodes. She’s kind of boring and I didn’t really care for her.
Overall – 7
It’s pretty fun and I enjoyed it a lot, it’s a bit crazy, but it’s good.

*Warning don’t read if you have a problem with gore or blood*
This series was not bad; the story is ok and has some much scuffed gore. With well-done tension and art, it’s a not bad read that takes 30mins to an hour.
Story – 7
It’s interesting, not incredibly well done, but enough to keep me interested. The story of these children’s struggle is fun but very gruesome. The continuality of the story is amazing and doesn’t stray away from its idea.
Art – 8
Yeesh, this art is gruesome. Not the worst I’ve seen but still, wow. The character designs are fun and the continuation of the art
...
is amazing. I see no real flaws and the gore is entertaining.
Characters – 5
These characters are amazingly close to a wood plank. No one is particularly special and all have their flaw, but I have to say that the way the writer makes you hate the characters is great. It really allows you to enjoy the deaths.
There are no real main characters aside from Kashimura, who kind of gets thrown around by the other characters.
Overall – 7
It’s nice, but very gruesome. I like the story and the suspense built by the writer. I would recommend, but it is very cruel and to the point. Have fun!!

What a good show, it’s not the best, but it’s definitely good. The animation when needed is flawless and the music is especially well done. I enjoy the setting and most of the characters, but you can’t beat these fight scenes.
Story – 7
I like it; it’s got an interesting universe and very intense premise. The demons all have back stories and it’s all very interesting to watch. It can be shallow some times and rely on some cliché characters, but it’s fun overall.
Art – 8
I’m only giving it an 8 because of the really obvious CGI that appears frequently. It appears too often and
...
really shouldn’t be used during fight scenes. Aside from that the art is amazing; I love the style and cinematography of the fights. Especially how the water and fire flow around the fight. The characters designs are amazing as well, all very distinct and to the point.
Sound – 9
I love the music, background music and sound effects in this series. the OP and ED are good, especially the ED in episode 19, it plays so well into the episode. They fit the time period perfectly and help convey fights and feelings.
Characters – 7
They mostly are pretty bland, with cardboard cut-out personality. Be it the main character being a goodie two shoes.
Tanjiro is the main character and as I said he’s a goodie two shoes, but at least he has a reason to be.
Nezuko is way over hyped, yeah she had some good scenes, but she appears way too little.
Tanjiro is very annoying, but has some very fun moments and great fights.
Inosuke is possibly my favourite character, being completely mentally insane for the entire series.
Overall – 8
It is very good, I can’t deny it. I enjoyed it, especially the fight scene in episode 19. There are some bad moments, but its fine with the overflow of good.

It’s a sad series, but I think they needed more time or a different ending. I don’t like the ending personally, it’s the edition of a threat that doesn’t need to exist. Although, the characters and overall story was fun and interesting, I’m disappointed in the last 3 episodes.
Story – 5
I’m going to give this a 5, although the last 3 episodes ruined the over-arching plot. The route of the shadow monsters is stupid; they don’t need this threat to continue the story. In my opinion they should have ran with a plot to help everyone overcome and feel fulfilled, but this is ruined with
...
little problems that leave a bad feeling in your stomach.
*Spoilers
I like the way that Yui went, I wish I could say the same for the rest of the characters. The graduation ceremony was nice, it felt good to see the main cast go. However that final scene with Otonashi and the Tenshi at the very end is pointless, they ruined Otonashi with the inclusion of his helping hand cliché.
*End Spoilers
Art- 6
It’s nice, the colours are great and the fight scenes are fluid, but it’s not phenomenal. I didn’t like the addition of the slides that told the location of the characters, it ruined the immersion in some scenes.
Sound – 4
Nah, the OP is ok, but the ED is better. I don’t like the background music, mainly because it overpowers a lot of the tenser scenes.
Character – 5
I felt for a lot of these characters (mainly Yui), but the story drops them off at the wrong station.
Otonashi, good guy, not very well executed. He feels to forced and always being the goody too-shoes is over bearing at times.
Yuri is good, although she had a real back seat in this series. I want to see more of her.
Hinata yet again took a real back seat. He’s funny, but out of place in a lot of scenes.
Kanade is my second favourite character, she has a complete ark that’s ‘fulfilling’ and tasteful, would have liked more character building though.
Yui is the best part of this series, she is the example of the best ending for this series. she should have been the blueprint for the last 3 episodes.
Overall – 5
Come on, why did it turn out this way. Episode 10 left on such a strong note, Yui’s ark is the only one that feels complete. The addition of the shadow monsters is dumb and pointless, there’s no need too. Overall, I would recommend it, but stop at episode 10. It’s not much better from there.

A fun and overall intriguing series with a really captivating premise. Every 3 episodes a new problem arises that keep anyone watching interested. This series is best-girl central with new fan favourites appearing left, right and centre.
Story – 9
Holy shit, what an interesting premise. I love the different character arks of this series, from the effect it has on the different girls to how it links to scientific theorem. The story is captivating and had me hooked hard core by episode 3.
Art – 7
It’s not bad, pretty average. It’s fluid has some fun moments and good animation.
Sound – 8
Oh boy, this OP
...
and ED is great, love it. I love the ambience that plays in the background and the voice acting is so calming. The OP and ED are really good especially the ED.
Characters – 8
Oh yeah, here it comes. Which is best girl, it’s hard to choose with so many good options
Sakuta is the main character and is practically being pulled around by the girls in this series, he has to save them or solve their problems like an episode of sket dance.
Mai is Sakuta’s crush, starting at episode 1 she’s one of the main characters that helps Sakuta and gets helped by Sakuta. She’s seen as best girl by many
Kaede is Sakuta’s little sister, who sadly has amnesia. She’s personally my favourite, but she has some very funny moments.
Koga is some random girl that turns up in the middle of the series, she’s kinda boring.
Futaba is Sakuta’s school friend, but she’s a complete nerd that luckily knows everything that Sakuta need to know.
Makinohara is Sakuta’s previous crush and she guides him in some hard moments
Nodoka is Mai’s sister, she provides probably one of the more boring arcs in the series.
Overall – 8
It’s good, I would suggest it. I like most of the story, the music is fire and the characters are fun.

What a fun play on the devil vs angel cliché. It’s fun to see angels be so demonic and vice versa. If you haven’t noticed yet, this anime sparked the trend that was Satania’s constant torment. It’s fun to see all the characters crazy stories and interactions.
Story – 6
Yet again, not a very story driven series, a basic plot about the difference between demons and angels. It mainly focus’ on the fun moment s and stupidity of the characters. It’s pretty fluffy.
Art – 7
I like the style, more cutesy animation compared to realistic. It’s fluid and has some great reactions and quick animation. A perfect
...
example of this is the moment where (*Spoiler* Satania gets fucking destroyed by a door) the animation is fluid and amusing to view.
Sound – 8
Jeez, this opening be hitting good. Love how stylistic and perfect it is for this series, with the voice actors leading in the singing it’s fun to listen. The ed is ok and yet again good for the series.
Characters – 8
Yet the best part of this series, ranging from the ditz that is Satania to the teasing Raphiel. It’s good to see these characters in action.
Tenma or Gabriel is the main character or the “Faillen Angel” as they like to put it, going from a perfect student in heaven to a complete shut in NEET in a few days. She’s the average “don’t care” character.
Vignette is a demon who’s quite obviously bad at being a demon. She’s a perfect housewife sort of character, who isn’t good at doing bad. She’s a perfect opposite of Tenma.
Satania, definitely the star of the show. With her incredible stupidity it’s fun to see her. The dog she runs into is quite fun as well.
Raphiel is an angel, but just like Tenma, she isn’t very good inside. She constantly teases Satania for being so stupid. She’s pretty fun though.
Other side characters are good as well and have some beautiful moments.
Overall – 7
It’s very fun, the characters are fun, the story is ok and the scenarios are enjoyable. If you’re into pointless fluff that definitely doesn’t need a second season than this is for you.

What a weird concept, the idea of the fights between the two main characters doesn’t really have any reason. This hurts but the childish antics that follow are usually quiet funny. With hilarious characters that I appreciate wholeheartedly, this is a definite win for the best couple award.
Story – 5
It’s incredible repetitive in the first 9 episodes. You want the characters to win, but they can’t. I think the final episode is particularly good and varies from the rest of the story in a compelling way.
Art – 7
There are some masterful reaction shots and fluid motion in this series, but aside from that it’s
...
nothing special.
Sound – 8
Holy Shit, the voice acting in this series is phenomenal. You can hear everything and it brings depth into every line said. Good job voice actors. The op is not bad, I was unsure at the start but it grew on me. The 2nd Ed on the other hand is a big yikes from me. Although chika’s dance is good.
Characters – 7
The main characters are kind of the normal boring super smart characters that you see everywhere, but they have some great scenes opposing each other. it’s fun to see the cogs turn. The side characters are very good as well.
Kaguya is the smart rich girl that has some very funny scenes when it comes to anything lewd.
The president on the other hand is the opposite, reacting to a lot of very mundane things.
Ishigami is the nerd character that can’t get anyone. He is terribly frightened by Kaguya and this leads to some absolutely comedic gold.
How could we forget Chika, she is the best thing about this series. she makes every scene hilarious and absolutely ruins the plans of other at every turn.
Overall – 7
Not a masterpiece, very good, but not a masterpiece. The characters are fun, but it gets very formulaic very quickly. I would recommend, but I don’t think it’s very important.
