Both blur the line between enemies and allies/lovers, as there's romantic tension between the protagonist and antagonist. Both show the male protagonist fighting and yet also getting along with the female antagonist. There's a mix of humor and normal everyday life alongside the magic, fantasy, and battles too. They both also essentially feature the male and female enemies on what are essentially dates too, even if they don't acknowledge it. Fun side casts of characters too.

Both follow the "Star Crossed Lovers" trope with people on opposite sides with a forbidden love. KimiSen is fantasy action while Rough is slice of life sports, but both feature two main protagonists who learn about and fall in love with people on other sides, and both are reminiscent of the classic tale of Romeo and Juliet.
