This won't be much of a review actualy. After watching this anime however you cannot simply walk away without a word.
I mean how on Earth it is possible that such a amazing piece didnt receive any continuations of the story.
Full Metal Panic first sezon was great really unique, but then Second raid is improving upon it twofolds. It is amazing in story art and characters. You can see how much efforty was put into it and it ends in a way that begs for continuation, with second raid only prepering the stage for future content.
There are lots of series spread thin in action,

without any substancial story, with plot going on in circles, yet they span for several seasons. And when there is finally some increadible series packed with action, with great evolving story it gets cut short in place where evrything begun to really shine.
It might be one of the worst diapointments for me in Anime.
Sure we can still hope someone will sometime pick up on this old series but it wont be the same it could have been.
Still Full Metal Panic remains an unforgetable experinence. With Second Raid beeing an example how should sequels be made.

This time a short review
It is quite simple piece of anime, with almoust non plot to speak of, still well done technicaly speaking.
Only real asset of this series is the main heroine - protagonist's sister Akiko, she is cute, and very fun to watch with her unweavering though childish love for her brother. The other heroines - as decent as they are, seem to be just put into this anime at random to fill the spots in the usual harem party.
This started quite nicely in the first episodes but become less intresting with letter episodes when the other heroines got more of the screen

time. Enjoyable but leading nowere and dissapointing.
In the end it is just another schematic harem anime with a huge amount of echii in form of skirt lifting, noughty dialogs and ocasional sexual innuendos. Nothing really disturbing though. No actual h-scenes (even mild).
If you hurting for a things to do and you want a title that you can watch without giving much thoughts to the story, expecting some laughs in return, this anime will provide you with a decent entertaiment. Just dont expect too much.
+ Nice and unique main heroine -Akiko
+ technicaly well done
+ still provides decent amusement
- plot that doesnt go anywere (ar isnt there at alll)
- other heroines added just for the sake of diversity
- plain simple schematical

Without expecting much i ran into this anime ...
There are several ways one can feel about any piece of entertainment, like anime series, game, movie or novel.
Amongs thouse we liked there are pieces who are simply decent
There are pieces we enjoyed watching but we forget about them 5 min later as we move on to other things and diffrent titles.
And there are some that we enjoy that much we actualy seek anything ralated to it desperatly trying to prolong that experience.
Basilisk isnt series that qualifies to eighter to this categories.
It is one of thouse rare masterpieces - completed within its form - that

burns a mark on souls of thouse who choose to expeirence it, lingering in ones hart, cousing unrest of the spirits withing ourselfs.
It is a rare trait to any piece of movie, anime, game, novel to be able to tough ones innermost feelings, to apeal to emotions and values hidden in day-to-day lifes. In my life I only encountered a few things affecting me that deeply.
The story told in Baslisk is that powerfull. It runs deeper that in the animations and brodcasted emotions are boyond what we can normaly see and hear.
It almost feels like anime is just a convinient means to tell us the timeless archetypical story transcendenting time and cultures about human hatered. The afterfoughts running in ones head after watching this anime are perhaps the most importand part of this expierience I try to describe.
In case of form - perhaps, or rather apparently, I will be biassed. I remember for example I haterd the opening song first time I heart it, but then somewhere in beetween next and enxt epissode evrything faded away and becoame a part of this huge hart gripping emotion.
Evrything about this anime is compleate.
I cant imagine it with better graphics now - although it is obvious there are hundreds of show done better.
I cant imagine this with better animation now - although I have seen scores of better animated anime
I cant possibly imagine this any other way that this first time I have seen it.
I probably dont want to watch this again at all.
I dont want to ruin that feeling I have in my chest right now.
In this form - only in my memory - that expirience called Basiliskk is PERFECT
If I can say any substantial advice right now - dont watch this anime in chunks one episode per day.
To get the best experience try wartching this in just a few sessions, with high volume on headphones durring the night. I swallowed it in just one weekend taking just 3 breaks to release some heat, and swollen pain in the chest, but I could easly watch the entire show in one go as the story could keep you tied up to monitor with the uncertainty each next episode bringed.
Especialy first 12 episodes are very very intense - I dont remember anything similar happening to me since playing fate stay night Visual Novel for the frist time , even though I usualy dont watch more than 2 3 episodes of diffrent anime series per day.

It is silly for my to prize this anime that much, I know that you must be laughing at me right now. For grown up man to moved that much by some not so widely recognised series.
Anyway I Am sattisfied now. I am happy to have experience this cleansing feelign now. I hope you can achive this catarsis as well, becouse in this sole moment I can see clearly, untill my sight become obscured by daily life again...
oh and I forgot - I l even came to love the opening song now ...
To finish with what I started this review
This isnt one of thouse most popular and loved pieces of work where evrybody cant wait to see another part of it.
I can never say it is the best thing I have ever seen myself even.
It is though a special category on its own - a rare piece that change our parsonality a little bit, that we will carry on within us, even after we forget about what it was about someday ...

PS. I gave it 10 overaly even though it is obvious that it doesnt deserve so objectively speaking. Other would probably not recive this series the way I did so, I think giving this series a 9 or even 8 would be more appropriate normaly. So this score of 10 is only becouse of my personal "Perfect" Experience with this series I had.
I know this has been long - It is only fiitting to commemorate this great Anime though.

I am torn here
My recomendation would be simple - dont watch this anime !
Dont watch it becouse ..... you might actualy like it in the end ...... not knowing how big a crime was commited by its creators.
I must say i hate this Anime - I hate it becouse it is one of the worst Adaptations of The Visual Novels i have ever seen making into anime. It is like a disgrace and profanity of one of the best Action Visual Novels ever released.
Evrything great about the game was wasted in this sorry excuse of an adaptation, flatening the story, cutting

mayor characters, even the jokes and art from the anime are just a clumsy imitation of its original form. (especialy Master Terion and West look awfull in comparision to VN). Only the music thames are cut directly from it making this series a little bit better, still they arent used that skillfull as in the VN where thay perfecty created a mood. It might sound silly - but even animations in VN were better !!
Despite all of this it is still ... quite enjoyable to watch...
Suprisingly - but I guess, should I never see a VN before, I would probably enjoy this series without regret, but instead after watching this series I am totally cruished in sorrow, that splendit idea and story was wasted that much.
Demonbane had the potencial to become one of the greatest fighting anime ever ... And instead it is a B category show that some ppl bash the story (and they are - in case of the anime at least) for beeing just an excuse to show a bit of Mech fighting.

If you are reading this review - I humbly ask of you - do not watch it - find the game - it is even released in USA fully franslated and compatibie with Western unicode.
Then You will see this original, litle bit silly at first, but ultimately really captivating and masterfully executed work at its best. I can totatly and without hesitation recomned that game to all fans of Acion anime, cute girls, mechs, Cthulhu and to thouse who just like to lough a lot. When I plaied this game first time - I felt like- OMG what I am doing. Is this game for elementary kids or what? But then the story the characters and action showed me, how much wrong I have been.
Then, after trying the Visual Novel for yourself, you can see this anime just to see how much they screwed up.
If you wont listen to me and just go with thee anime you will probably like it a little anyway. Just know that you are only seen a badly executed copy that is far inferior to its original form.

This will be my first review here so I'll try to keep it short
First of all mind that Yosuga no Sora is borderline Echii, with plenty of erotic content, but despite what I ve been hearing from some reviews they arent obscene nor they arent more important than the story behind them. They are in fakt inextractable parts of the story itself.
Yosuga No Sora - might just be an example of my concept of ideal anime - totaly mature anime that evenly balances great story with a mature and honest depiction of sexual realations, instead of silly funservice panty flashing and opai brushing
...
of other series.
Ill just be focusing on the main pros and cons of the series to keep this review as short as possible
++ AMAZING Backbround Music and 3 good songs make for totaly memorable experience, IMHO the single best aspect of the series
+ Stunning enviroment
+ Beatiful Characters and decent to good animation
+ Protagonist isnt a retard (though he could be a bit more manly)
+ great atmosphere - the feeling of nostalgia makes you think about your own adolescence
+ mature and belivable
- due to plot inconsistency, and breaking the series into several Character Arcs there is not enought time spend on each individual case. I Guess it will always be a matter with VN adaptations. It is at least better than protagonist making it out with all the heroines in single "playthrough"
- mistreat of some characters in most of the episodes
- this series should be pushed a bit farther and actualy show erotic scenes without stupid restrictions to keep it "just" Echii.

So in summarition I can totaly recomend watching this one. Visualy appealing good in story, and a bit diffrent from usuall harem it is a nice anime. I dont know if I will remember it forewer, but I am definetly glad I watched it.It greatest weekness beeing inferiority to VN, but I cant imagine a better way to adaptate Harem VN without reducing importance of evry but main heroine, which would made it less intresting (not to mention inffurating for other charactrers fans).
So if you dont want to Play VN or you just want to watch a good Echi anime dont hessitate and try Yosuga no Sora. Just for mature audiences only :)
PS. I hope my review will be helpfull. Sorry for many mistakes I make, hopefully they dont make this review unreadable. I intend to get better with more experience :) Most of all enjoy the show !
