At first glance, one might mistake Naze Boku no Sekai wo Daremo Oboeteinai no ka? for another entry in the saturated isekai genre. But the answer to whether this anime qualifies as isekai is a definitive no. What we have instead is a richly layered world that, while invoking some familiar elements, introduces a wholly original take on the concept of altered realities and rewritten histories.
Unlike the conventional isekai where characters are transported to an entirely different world, this anime presents a world-building scenario that is far more intricate. It toys with the idea of overwriting reality itself—a powerful narrative device that sets it apart
...
from its peers. Imagine living in a world that seems familiar, but beneath the surface, the timeline has been manipulated. Events from the past, such as World War II, have been intentionally altered, leading to a different historical outcome. For instance, what if Japan never surrendered after Hiroshima because the atomic bomb was never invented? These changes ripple through the world, creating a strange fusion of original and falsified histories.
This concept opens the door to immense narrative potential. The anime is particularly gripping due to its protagonist—an individual whose existence hasn’t been overwritten by this altered timeline. His presence in a world where the past he remembers no longer aligns with the newly established order creates a fascinating paradox. He becomes a man out of place, living in a reality where he shouldn't exist, a character born from a timeline that no longer holds true. It's a complex setup that the anime executes with daring originality.
Unfortunately, while the story’s concept is top-tier, the execution falters in the anime's later episodes. From episodes 3 to 11, the animation quality takes a noticeable dive, likely due to budget constraints, which detracts from the overall experience. This may explain why the series has received a lower rating from the broader audience. I also found myself dropping the show around episode 8, initially rating it a 6. However, upon completing it, I revised my score to an 8.5 or even a 9—purely for the story's creativity.
A world where
1. Exceptional existence from the original timeline brought to a newly created timeline where the original timeline of history merges with the false timeline of history.
2. High influence being eradicated from a newly merged timeline due to his over-influence on the course events of history
3. A sub-high influence being(Hero in 4 races) slightly adjusted in memories but somehow still retains the old memory from course events from the original timeline that later on merged with the false course of events from new timeline(Like solo leveling monarch)
The anime offers an intriguing exploration of a world where the original timeline of history merges with a newly falsified one. High-influence figures from the original timeline are erased or rewritten, leaving only shadows of their former selves in the new timeline. Some characters, like the protagonist, retain fragmented memories of the original timeline, which adds depth and tension to the plot.
If you're seeking a flawlessly executed anime, this may not be for you. However, if you're like me and drawn to captivating, high-concept narratives that redefine the isekai genre, this series is well worth a try. It’s not perfect, but its bold storytelling might just align with your taste for complex, world-altering ideas.

Season 1: Completed (ALL the fans are thrilled and ecstatic with how OP Tatsuya is when it comes to his Dispersion and Nuke, aka, the material burst)
Reviewing the list of events we have: We have no head dragon -> Nine school competition -> Yokohama (Extra 2 nuke)
Season 2: Completed (We all know the best magician in STARS is nothing compared to Tatsuya for briefly 10 eps of dealing Parasite)
While the last 3 ep mainly exhibit the hint of the next season 3 covering the Arc of Gouhzing guy.
From my perspective: Season 1 and season 2 are mainly manifesting high level of combat ->
...
with bold story and how it revolves the main. While we can see the power of friendship, and the people Tatsuya knows how to work well with him in defeating and overwhelming the adversity challenging his normal school life.
BUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT, those 2 seasons neglected entirely the story revolving around his family clan also known as the Yotsuba Clan, Top 1 clan reign over 10 master clans within Japan. And also the relation between the power of other clans and how they interact with each other and influence the military. Without much of inspection on how the story goes, but rather solely focusing on how Tatsuya defies those challenges given to him.
(Nothing but a real clown jumping into a circus known as school life while doing military questline as his sidequest)
So, to cover those miserable mistakes, the anime season 3 is coming out with a huge surprise,
Season 3(No Spoiler): Focusing on Military/Tatsuya fate/Maya Yotsuba(Basic his clan)
1. Cut scene/Story board: 9.5/10 -> this is a thing that season 1 and 2 failed terribly. (If you want to focus on how the scene transitions and how detail on the context of the conversation in character) -> season 3 made it lit.
2. The music and opening on first Arc, is extremely fluent and narrative flow is well made to the point that it is making me goosebumps . Honestly, I've never expected there is such thing that coming from this series!
3. They mainly revolve around the story and world building, from audience perspective, those information is extremely informative and relevant to understanding what actually going on in the anime.
-> I know more and get attracted into this series which makes me find some good posts on Reddit to read the novel!
4. Some people dislike the 3D animation. But I tell you, 97% of the time, it is well designed with 2D and animation is the best of all in 3 seasons. 3% is 3D but those 3D are background characters that do not considerably matter to me much, the characters in conversation and facial expressions are even more detailed in comparison with the previous season.
5. This season shows the deep moral of connection in those characters between members in the family, not like before somebull shiet screentime to skip straight into anime fight scene without any narrative flow to understand how it leads to fight scene.
6. The level of implication and requests are extremely constructive(which relates to the level of story building, politics) -> highly appreciate the effort of making a good narrative flow(Which gains my attention and excitement) -> Well done, unlike 2 seasons before.
7. Transition into ED is so freaking awesome and damn goooddddd! What better? ED is also too gud to be real. Not gonna like. Please trust me! My limited in vocabulary can't describe how well the ED is in this anime.
Cons: However, the reason why it is rated at 7 on MAL. Actually, it has its own reason to stay this low and I understand the majority of the fanbase considering this is worse and ain't good like the 2 previous seasons.
1. As mentioned, the narrative flow is well done -> but the fight scenes (Not badly designed in animation) somehow end up pretty fast as they are too strong and potent in the fighting field.
2. Mostly talking and solely focusing on conversation and narrative of story rather than fighting. So people are disappointed due to carrying on too much expectation on fighting scene or climax part where it doesn't happen as expected.
So? For story: well constructed than ever before, which is amazingly impressive that makes me from watching anime into reading light novel -> 9.5/10
Music: Still remember LISA? She is the one who does the cooking for this season. 10/10
Animation: 8.5/10 (Assuming 9, but the color vibrance is too heavy and intensive for me so I can't give a 10)
+ Detailed/Facial expression/concern/apprehensiveness/serious/breathtaking fighting scene -> well done
+Transition cut scene/ storyboard: 9.5/10
Pacing: 7.5/10 -> this is where we have problem, because of this most of people are not satisfied with this current season. Not gonna lie, the anime itself has a huge potential but considering this to be perfect, this is going to be a masterpiece like 86.
Total point I could get for this is: 8 (Despite the number score given, if you are interested in story and world building -> please MUST WATCH. If you want fight scene and no brain power while watching-> please skip)

Sometimes, the score rated on MAL is right since it reflects the true content of the anime series can provide to audience, which I barely have anything to oppose. However, if you do it as something default to watch or skip by the point rated on MAL, you will miss the gold! Like this anime.
Honestly, I still don't get and understand how this anime gets 6.92 out of 10.
Summary real quick:
1. If you like 86 - Eighty six -> go watch this
2. If you think Horiyama story is well constructed -> Go watch this
3. if you like the animation figthting scence from unlimited budget from
...
Fate -> Go watch this
4. if you like twisted, lovely romance like love is war -> Go watch this
5. Till the last point -> everything looks perfectly cooked well with animation.
I would say this anime won't be 9 out of 10 but. in this seasonal, it should be around 8.6 to 8.8 out of 10.
Enjoyment I got from watching this better than Mashle season 2 and Solo Leveling or Tomozaki or nozomanu Fushi.

Before reading this review, repeat after me the title of this anime! "Masamune-kun no Revenge R".
Okay, again! "Masamune-kun no Revenge R". Again! "Masamune-kun no Revenge R". Good
In this review, surely contains spolier but I can tell you it won't waste your time. So I will try my best to keep it short. The storyline of this anime where season 1 left us in the middle of ocean where we are in urge to see how this main protagonist approaching Aki to revenge and pay everything back from that trauma he had 8 years ago in Aki mansion. Season 2 on another hands,
...
the first 4 eps are acceptable, okay, decent, unique, manifest how sensitive his judgement and reassess the situation happening back then 8 years ago after hearing Aki story, which makes me feel like: "Damn this Masamune is damn smart and intellectual!" I mean yeah he got absolute point during entrance test as a transferred student, so basically no doubt. However, shit comes real quick right after Yoshino revealed the truth that Aki didn't give him a name Pig foot, showing her past trauma where Yoshino was envious with Masamune 8 years ago because majority of Aki time was spent with Masamune instead of Yoshino, which was the primary course of action to Yoshino disguising as Aki to give Masamune trauma. (CENTRAL REASON OF THE PLOT WHERE DRAMA, REVENGE PLAN STARTED)
THE REASON WHY MOST PEOPLE DROPPED RIGHT AWAY AT EP 4 AND 5:
The occurrence on the end of Ep.4 and beginning of ep.5. I mean the motivation and long-life purpose that Masamune has himself attached to grind and cultivate for freaking 8 years in rural Shushi area where has no internet or any external connection to real world just to revenge has been easily slipped off like what? "okay I accidentally said to Aki please go on a date with me just to save her from Gatsuo so I had to screw and made the rest ep become shiet and no sense"
Despite the fact that all of the past trauma was clarified/justified as a misunderstanding due to Yoshino disguised Aki, which means Masamune himself couldn't be able to hold a deep animosity toward Aki as well as Yoshino who has been regretting her actions for 8 years long too. Then what is point of Masamune right now? What is the point of being present for the rest 8 eps in the show of season2? -> Proceed to go on a date with Aki and enjoyed it like a completely new anime which has no attachment or any connection to the previous 4 eps of season 2 and 12 eps of season 1.
So during this point, the show should have manifested something called internal conflict in Masamune, he is top student who has absolute point during the entrance test, he is not that stupid where he couldn't see through his current problem where the long life purpose is to revenge disappears in a sudden. And that is not because he saying wanting to date Aki means it is compulsory of him to do so. At least, he should have showed certain concern how to deal with the relationship where he now doesn't have true love for Aki. In fact, there is no point of getting into relationship with Aki anymore, since the initial plan itself is making Aki falling in love then reject her eventually to create a shock trauma like he had 8 years ago. And it is completely crystal clear that there is no love manifested by Masamune toward Aki in 8 years journey seeking for revenge.
Showing more screen time how he fights against his feeling and confliction instead of showing stupid activities where it has NOTHING TO DO WITH THE STORY RIGHT NOW! Showing how he deals with his relationship where his true love doesn't exist, where his feeling concealed at somewhere else in the hidden frog, showing how he has to deal with the fact that he is walking right down to Neko's path and overcomes the destination where Neko has to stop due to how superficially she rushed into a relationship with shallow and empty purposes like season1?????????
Story: 5.8/10
If you have nothing but time to waste, continue and watch the rest ep after ep.5. From my perspective, I only judge and rate anime after fully completed and getting all the details of the story, since I am a big fan of this series 7 years ago. It was part of my childhood memories, but how unfortunate it is to witness the downgrade version of this anime after 7 years waiting.
In conclusion, Saying that doesn't mean the anime not good but mostly the plot itself, if you attach to story plot and more into sensical things like character development, then surely this is utterly terrible. But if you are enjoying some good cool lines, then Neko is the best in this anime for the rest ep.
Character develpoment:
Masamune: 3/10 ( Exhibits outstanding student with sharpness logic thinking but so fuking dumb in the end of ep.4 )
Aki: 6.7/10 ( Decent development well written, doesn't have any flaw however not to the point where she is completely outstanding in comparison with Neko -> which created a stupid plot hole where Masamune choose Aki instead of Neko )
Yoshino: 2/10 ( Her behave goes completely opposite what she has been doing, the turn 180 degree in 12 minutes of ep.8 or 9 which created a stupid dumbshiet plot hole again, not to mention the show didn't sshow her feeling toward Masamune as well but at a sudden turn into a competitor competing with Aki????? WTF????)
Neko: 9/10 (Best character development so far, her logical thinking and herself reflection has improved a lot since ep 9 of season 1, she is the most outstanding character with no scar in plotting, a girl who is willing to help and turn herself into villan just for the sake of main protagonist to realize how deeply and genuinely she is serious about his happiness and his mental health -> which also makes other chars have no chance to compete with her in term of love interest for Masamune)
Background music: 9/10 (Fits into romcom genre and confession scene)
Animation graphic: 8,5/10 (but not as good as season 1, I feel like season 1 has more connection and attachements thing to character traits)
