Story: 10/10
This anime in a nutshell is a murder mystery divided into Arcs that plays threw one of the main character's individual story in a the month of June. These arcs can be seen like a visual novel so to say. Each of the MC's (Main characters) Arcs astray slightly different then the others but are crucial to the story and unveiling the key to why the murders are happening in Hinamizawa. In Hinamizawa there is a Parasite that causes people to get berserked if the person is too stressed out. These Arcs revolve around the MC's

perspective and give subtle clues on how the MC becomes too stressed out and goes berserk in the first place! Many do not know of this virus like parasite and just refer to it as Oyashiro's curse. The villagers are left in the dark not knowing the true reason why people go insane since the parasite is kept secret for political and safety reasons. Once the MC is too stressed out they lose their ability to think rationally this disease makes it so that they hallucinate and their fears can truly become a reality! Once inflicted with the ailment they cannot think rationally and have auditory/visual hallucinations. At this stage the MC can't differentiate friend from foe, and usually ends up murdering someone then dying. You learn watching this anime that the character Arcs in the revolve around the current MC's downfall and lets you try to pinpoint the event that eventually triggers why the MC gets berserked in the first place! This is one of those anime you want to watch again and again because you pick up more subtle information each time you watch it..!
I cannot stress enough that this was very well thought out, a lot can happen in *one* month ;)
Art: 6/10
Its all right, nothing too visually stunning, and it doesn't have to be.
Sound: 9/10: - The creators deeply grounded the atmosphere with this one..! Most opening / closings OSTs I don't really care for, but I can rewatch/listen to these until forever. The sound/OSTs played during the anime are well synchronized and not out of place. This really captures the moment of suspense. The normal sound/music isn't bad either, it can be very upbeat and cheery when the main group do their day to day activities.
Character: 10/10
Easily a 10/10 because how the anime is presented like a visual novel. During the Arcs you learn so much about the current MC. This makes the characters seemingly flawless because of how heavy one an Arc revolves around one person.
Enjoyment: 10/10
I personally love it for all the reasons above. I lost count of how many times I've rewatched this. Highly recommend.
