After being recommended this anime a few times, I finally decided to give it a go, and... I don't get it. I managed to get through episode 68 (the end of the Nirvana arc) before I finally had to drop it.

1. The jokes are far, far, far too repetitive. It's the same jokes in every episode. They elicit a chuckle here and there, but they are used so much that they become dull.

2. The characters are flat. I felt no connection to any of them. Natsu is incredibly annoying, and has the most annoying and overplayed gag weakness. Will he and the others develop more ... in the future? I'll never know. 68 episodes is more than enough time for an anime to create an emotional bridge between viewer and character. Naruto did it in episode 1.

3. The story is repetive. Bad guy is bad because he is bad. Let's fight him. Oh no, he is too strong. Let's think about our friends. Power boost!

4. The fight scenes have too much jumping around between scenes. Fight starts, 20 seconds later, let's cut to another character. Now, let's check the fight for 20 more seconds. Now, let's cut away again. It's hard to enjoy them like that.

Honestly, I genuinely don't get the love for this one. It's not the worst anime I've ever seen, but it's far from good.

I finally had to drop this one around episode 10. For the life of me, I cannot understand the hype around this one. There is absolutely nothing engaging about it. The story drags on and is nonsensical, and the "fight" sequences are extremely boring. After 10 episodes, I still couldn't care less about any characters. And, if the main character has some "talent" or "gift", then do something, anything, with it already.

I feel like this is a "hype train" anime, where people like it because it was hyped up, and they think they were supposed to like it, so they look at it in an ... overly positive light.

Three and a half hours of my life wasted on this, and I refuse to let it go to five hours.

If this is "closer to the manga", then the 90s' anime did the source material a big favor.

I grew up on the dubbed version of the 90s anime, and later rewatched it subbed. I loved it, and I genuinely enjoyed the characters. But Crystal has made me dislike the character of Usagi, as well as find her fairly useless. It's just the same cycle over and over. Sailor Moon cries, senshi protect her, senshi lose energy and collapse, Sailor Moon cries, they stand up repowered or she "remembers the power of friendship and gets re-energized herself". There's no variation to it. In addition, the 90s' ... anime gave me an emotional gut punch. The only time I felt emotional watching this was during the initial nostalgia factor of meeting the senshi over the first few episodes. In the 90s' anime, she was childish, but endearing. Here... she's lost the endearing quality.

Animation? Terrible. SM is a powerhouse of a classic, and it deserved better. The CG is horrible. Don't get me wrong, I am not against CG, but do it well if you are going to do it. The drawn animation was also done incredibly poorly. The people who made this should be ashamed of taking something so legendary and stomping it into the mud. It should have been handled with the respect and care it deserves.

Voice acting was mostly okay, with the exception of the "big bad" in Season 1. The lines were delivered like a petulant child. In regards to the dialogues themselves, they were poorly done. They feel clunky and unnatural. They needed serious rewriting to make them flow better in this media.

If you loved the 90s' anime and want something SM related, I recommend the live action series. It starts off a little clunky, but get good at around episode 8, and the acting improves a lot. It also delivers some good emotional gut punches that Crystal can't pull off.

The first few episodes got me into it, but then it dropped the ball. The ending wasn't satisfying, and the "いっけえええええええ!!!!!!" wasn't earned. I found myself skipping through a lot of the final two episodes, as I could pretty much predict everything that was going to happen, and I didn't care. I developed no attachment to any of the characters at all.

Honestly, if you watched the first few episodes and expect it to get better, just cut your losses and stop watching. It won't. The idea was interesting, and the powers were as well, but it didn't pay off.

Unnecessary additional info to get my review ... published: The art style was fine. The voice acting was fine. Characters were not well-rounded. Story became mind-numbingly predictable.

I almost gave this one up during the first episode, but I am glad I stuck with it. The first episode didn't have the charm of the subsequent episodes, so just keep in mind that it quickly gets better.

It had some funny moments, and I have to say that I enjoyed the story overall. I found that I could relate to the male protagonist, though the internal dialogue was far too mature for someone of that age.

Honestly, I say give this one a try if you like a calm, story-driven anime that has its humorous and poignant moments.

How many times can you hear a guy call his wife or gf kawaii until it becomes unbearable? I don't know the answer to that, but this show sure tries its best to find out.

The main characters are fairly boring, with a couple of chuckle moments here in there. Its the tertiary characters that actually keep you engaged and laughing. The main female character acts like a bashful schoolgirl, though that feels a bit nonsensical considering that they hint at her being far more than that.

At the end of the day, I didn't feel very satisfied with this one. It's okay, but not that I've ... finished it, I am left wondering if I regret giving this one my time or not.

It seems a lot of people dropped Boruto fairly quickly, and I can definitely understand why. However, I've stuck with it up to episode 150, and it gets better... but not by much. Boruto has a lot of fillers, as did Naruto, but there is a key difference: You could cheer for Naruto, and you cared about Naruto. Naruto was trying to work hard to earn the respect and affection of a village that despised him. Boruto has it all, but feels neglected by his father, who has the weight of the village on his shoulders. Boruto is a hard character to empathize with, especially ... knowing the backstory of Naruto. While Boruto does get better, and you come to like the main character better, it does nothing to really hold your attention. With Naruto, we were thrilled to see his continued progress, and anticipated developments with his power, and the connections he made (even in filler episodes). With Boruto... well, something is going on with his eye. That's about it. There's not real driving force to look forward to in regards to his character development. Nothing to really hook you, even 150 episodes in. Will I continue? Yes, merely because I love Naruto and want to see that story continue, but I anticipate skipping through about 80% of the episodes. (Though I will say the Time Slip Arc was pretty damn entertaining.)

10 episodes out of 12, and I had to quit. I skipped through the final episode in about 30 seconds just to see what would happen, and was glad I quit.

I wanted to like this anime, but from the beginning, it was just... cringey. The characters are just one big stereotype after another, and the dialogue seems like it should be from a "romance novel for young girls." The humor fell flat as well.

However, the worst part? Every adult character was a complete jerk. Seriously... no redeeming qualities. I mean, how much does a kid have to get picked on and bullied? And the other ... younger characters weren't much better. It was just infuriating to watch.

Good point? The animation wasn't bad.

I don't get it. Seriously. I don't. I've heard some hype about this series, so I decided to give it a go... an I don't get it. I honestly stopped half-way through the third episode, because I just couldn't get into it.

The story is thin, and poorly explained. The characters have no real logic or sense to them. The fights are boring. The art style doesn't hold my interest, though I can respect the stylistic choice, and that it may appeal to some (think the art style of Naruto vs. Pain).

The only decent thing I can say about the series is that the sound ... quality is good, as well as the choice of music for the series.

Just knocked this one out yesterday, and while I wasn't completely disappointed, I also didn't completely engage with it. Another reviewer mentioned that the title is misleading. I concur.

It's not a bad filler story, but it really doesn't live up to the title, and the story itself isn't nearly as good as the main series. It's a cute little romp, and worth giving a go if you really love the series, but it is skippable.

There is also a fight in this one, but it really doesn't live up to any of the other fights we've seen so far, so that's not really something to look ... forward to either.
