Honestly, the fact that anyone has given this above a 7 (although even a 7 feels too generous), especially seeing the reviews that gave this a 10, makes me want to fall into absolute despair.

The only reason this is a 2 is that it is pretty and I managed to tell two of the guys apart at the end. Congrats movie, you did the bare minimum. Seriously, for the majority of the movie any friend in "the boys" who was not the main character (Yes I forgot his name, no I don't care) was literally just the same personality copy pasted, and ... the only reason that changed for ONE of them is that he's literally going to be charged with murder in another alternate timeline. The entire atmosphere reeks of being uncomfortable. The girl's mom seems extremely obsessive, and her father literally punched out a child, yet they are never called out. The boys sexually harass their teacher and bet on agreeing to get her panty shots. Remember, these are underage boys, and one literally confessed to having a CRUSH on their TEACHER. Also, the main girl asks the main boy if she should go into "night work" once they get to Tokyo, saying she'll pass as 16 just fine. My god. Just...why.

Also, the random ass music video??? And the dogshit CGI castle??? Was that where they had to dump the budget because they spent too much of it on the ending???

Look, for all the anime I've watched, even shit like TPN season 2, I go out of it feeling like it happened. That something happened. No matter how bad it was, I feel like I experienced something. My time wasn't a waste.

The only thing I could think of when Fireworks ended was that I escaped.
