Elfen Lied is an anime that we have all heard of and is considered one of the classics that you need to watch, however this anime was not all that it cracked up to be. I went into this with high expectations, given the amount of times I have been recommended this and all the love it receives, only to come out severely disappointed. That isn't to say it was bad; it wasn't. Instead it just felt extremely mediocre. It is an anime that focuses heavily on gore, but honestly other than that is quite forgettable.

Story (6/10):
It focuses on issues concerning the conflict between ... races, as Kohta encounters a few Diclonius, a race that emerged with a strong desire to kill humans. The story honestly wasn't all that memorable, it feels like nothing really happens after 13 episodes. We meet Lucy (who has DID and thus, no memories of her bloody past), several times someone is sent to kill her (only to die or become a member of the Kohta's household, and Kohta regains his memories of Lucy. The story's main issue was being completely predictable all throughout.

Art (6/10):
For the time period, it honestly isn't too bad. I don't really care too much about the art in anime, it's just a nice bonus if it looks good.

Sound (7/10):
Voice acting is pretty good, although sound effects are a different issue...Music is really good and the use of it throughout the anime to show the connection between Kohta and Lucy is a nice touch.

Of all the anime this season Moriarty the Patriot is without a doubt the most underrated, and is a must watch if you have any interest in mystery anime or Sherlock. I was a bit unsure of how this anime would turn out when I first heard of it as there are few Sherlock anime that are worth watching. Moriarty the Patriot is different from all of those in that it doesn't focus on Sherlock, but on his nemesis Moriarty.

Story: 10
The story focuses a lot on building Moriarty's character, and how he plots to make the world a better place one death at a ... time. It's interesting to see how he'll take a situation where everyone is suffering and helps alleviate their pain by plotting revenge on those that caused the pain.

Art: 8
Really nice art style and the animation is really good.

Sound: 10
One of the best openings I have ever heard. All the lyrics in both the op and ending fit the anime perfectly. Sound effects help to build suspense.

Characters: 9
The character's all have a good amount of depth, even the side characters that go to Moriarty for help. It was also really nice to see Moriarty's past and learn more about him as a character.

Overall: 9
I love this anime. It is definitely worth the watch if you're debating whether to watch it or not.

No one has a done a review for Kud Wafter yet, so I thought I'd do one so that others interested in this manga will have a basic idea of what to expect.

So first let me just say that I absolutely love the Little Busters series. It is one of my favorite stories by Key, so naturally I was excited to find out that there was a spin-off manga that featured Noumi Kudryavka as the main love interest. However I was honestly disappointed when reading this manga.

Story: 7
The story is one of the few things in Kud Wafter that I found enjoyable. There isn't too ... much to add on it.

Art: 3
The art in this manga was a mess. Backgrounds were underwhelming, typically nothing added to make a background stand out. This won't have been a big deal if the characters didn't look so bad.

Characters: 7
The characters were enjoyable for the most part, although there were definitely times where they just didn't match their personalities in the main series.

My enjoyment was pretty low, around a 5 overall. For a series I was really looking forward to reading I just feel disappointed. It wasn't terrible, but if you do pick this manga up don't expect too much from it.

Weathering With You isn't what you first expect going into it. Even still this anime is absolutely stunning, in terms of the art style, the soundtrack, and the story. The characters all feel realistic, each with their own flaws and personalities. They aren't just the recycled anime characters with a new design. The soundtrack fits every moment of this movie, and makes a strong impact on the viewer.
The story takes some of the best elements from Makoto Shinkai's past works and puts them together into something even better. This is not another Your Name, like many people were hoping. Taki and Mitsuha do show up ... briefly, but they're minor characters. This may disappoint those hoping for the second Your Name, but Weathering With You is so well done. I would highly recommend watching this if you haven't already.

Didn't I Say to Make My Abilities Average in the Next Life was one of my all time favorite light novels, and the manga was just as good as the novel, so naturally I was really excited when I found out that it was getting an anime adaptation. However, this anime just isn't what I was expecting from the series. It seems like they completely ditched the source material when making this adaptation. Considering how good the source material was, it was extremely disappointing. Don't get me wrong, this anime is okay, it just doesn't live up to the light novel or manga. If you're ... new to the series this anime would be quite enjoyable with all the comedy and the way it basically makes fun of the isekai genre. But if you've read this series it's just not what you're expecting. You have to enjoy it on it's own.

Overall this anime is okay, I just feel that it's missing the charm that the light novel and manga had. They cut out a lot of the backstories and details that the novels contained, and you get barely any information on Adele's (Mile's) life before she was reincarnated into this fantasy world. A lot of other side character's were just cut out of the picture entirely, like Lenny who you see for like 5 seconds.

So I would recommend this series to anyone looking for a different take on the isekai genre, just not anyone who enjoyed the source material like I did. I can't give this series any lower than a 6. I was really hoping that this anime would live up to the novels, but they just didn't.

Didn't I Say to Make My Abilities Average in the Next Life is about a young girl who wanted nothing more than to be normal after her first life, where she had a family that was constantly fighting over her because she was extremely talented. The story is pretty good overall as it follows Adele trying to fit in with the people around her.


The characters are all full of life and the art is amazing. Adele's friends in the story are Mavis (a girl who ran away from home to be a knight), Reina (a powerful mage who specializes in fire magic), and Pauline (a ... merchant's daughter who knows some healing magic). This series is very enjoyable and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a good comedy isekai.

The story seems like a standard isekai in the beginning, but gets better as it goes on. The characters are all fun and full of life.

The story is about a girl who dies from overwork, and is given a chance to start over in another world to live a more laid back life. However, after 300 years of just killing slimes for money she finds that she is the strongest person in the world. Word spreads and her peaceful life is no more. People are all coming to her to test their strength and that's when the story truly begins.

The art is amazing, and ... all the characters look great. This is one of my favorite light novels, because it's not like a basic isekai where people only care about becoming heroes in the new world. There is quite a bit of comedy in it and I recommend this series to anyone looking for something new to read.

The whole manga is very dry. It is very unimpressive. The characters are dry and most of the main characters are very similar with only a few small changes in their personality. The art is fine, but the story could be a lot better.

All the characters are decent at best, and the story just doesn't draw you in. All of the characters like someone else in their friend group but the only people who end up together are the main characters. It just doesn't get you into the story and make you want to read more to see what happens to the characters later on.
