[SLIGHT SPOILER WARNING]
This series is literally a rollercoaster that reveals the episodes with a very fast pace. Having only 12 episodes, with no continuation on the horizon, it's the ultimate reason why a lot of people say that this show is very poorly written, a terrible disaster that had wasted its potential for worldbuilding. That it's not worth to watch and the only good thing about this anime is the art. Well... they aren't either right nor wrong. That's where the 'mixed feelings' come from.

THE PREMISE: 10/10
Michiru Kagemori, an average human girl shifts into an anthrpomorfic taunki with uncanny abilities and escapes to Anima City,
...
the "oasis" of each beastman (people that can transform into anthropomorfic animals at will). Michiru meets a wolf-guy, collaborating with the mayor of the city. They both decide to investigate her case and protect her from any disasters. But Michiru doesn't really listen to them, as she is overly hyped for looking around the surroundings. That's very relatable for each person watching the series is like her - wanting to know each detail of the city, wanting for this show to replace their lifes (like I wanted to!).
EPISODES 1-4: 9/10, EPISODE 5: 10/10
It's just pure awesomeness. It builds up a great world with so much potential. Michiru uses her abilities in various situations, like in my favourite episode - the baseball one - and it is very clever. I love the slice of life that was created in these episodes, especially, that a lot of scenes are wholesome and sweet. Characters are great, especially Michiru who already lands in my top characters ever. There is a lot of action that is just connected with the SoL form. The ONLY thing that is awful is that this section has only 5 episodes. It could've have 30 and it wouldn't still be enough, the possibilites are almost endless here.
EPISODES 6-10: 8/10
From the SoL we get to the very dark section of the series. It still has the climate that was in the first part, but all of the truths reveal just TOO fast, and the switch from the (somewhat dark but) cute and energetic racoongirl's adventures to the dark and very complex part is just too intruisive. It's not like that part is worse than the first one - it is VERY addictive and makes the viewers want more - but this section feels very pushy, especially for the fact it has only 5 episodes and it feels like it has been made specially to fit in the budget. Almost all of the entirety of the lore reveals in two episodes...
EPISODE 11: 9/10, EPISODE 12: 7/10
The 11th episode was very cool, as a build-up to the final episode - and the cliffhanger at the end of it made my jaw drop for the good 10 minutes as I couldn't close it - but the 12th episode... yeah. It's very cliche, but at least it's very fun to watch for some. It leaves the viewers wanting a second season. But, even though there is a lot of uncompleted plot points and the finale ends in an open way, why would you leave it open if you're known for never making the 2nd seasons? Yeah, Trigger released the 2nd season of Gridman, but has too much other projects going on. There are rumours going on that if the series will get enough popularity till 2025, there will be the continuation of BNA - but these are only rumours from what I've heard.

STORY: 8.5/10
The story is GREAT. It's not the best story that will replace your life - sadly - but it's very good giving a shot. It's sometimes predictable, sometimes not, especially the last episodes. The interaction between characters are either just so wholesome... or deadly fights xD
ART: 10/10
Masterpiece. Each shot looks like it came from a comic book, and could be hanged in a museum right beside Picasso's paintings. The color pallete works with it, and each animation is made with so much work and heart put into it, it's just too pleasant to watch.
MUSIC: 9.5/10
Music and sound design are as awesome as the rest of the show - it really fits, and the vocal songs - are just perfection. The messages in them, the music does its job in the narrative.
CHARACTERS: 8/10
- Michiru is an awesome, kindhearted person and has tons of awesome powers, and - maybe not as much to be a waifu - she is just so sweet and adorable!
- Shirou has a cool backstory which fits pretty well into the series, he's a badass and everyone respects him (me included)
- Nazuna is freaking adorable!! (Even though her character arc isn't that relevant to the series).
Other character's don't have much lore within them, but are also cool, like funny Jackie and greedy Marie having their own motivations and being relevant to the plot. They add much more depth to the city and relationships.
PACING: 2/10
Outright horrible. The only thing making this review have mixed feelings instead of outright reccomending the show. Watching this show took 4 hours, but it literally feels like only 15 minutes had passed because of how addictive the show is - and aside from arts, AMV's, MAPs and recensions, I still can't find more stuff to make myself have a phase on this show - even tho I really want to have it...
OVERALL: 9/10
Even though the pacing is horrible and the story is sometimes super confusing - the series completely deserves 9. It's not a masterpiece - but is great, because of the art, the characters and the overall vibe. It'll forever stay in my heart as my 2nd anime I watched, and I wouldn't even know about it if not the weekly playlist from Spotify where I first heard the interesting, energetic opening song and decided to check the series out...
