Is the second season of this show worth watching? Eh, maybe. Is it anywhere as good as the first season was? Not even close.

Right off the bat this season showcases an important scene for the storyline, and then does something to make a supporting character be absolutely despicable. Their blunder is so bad that online forums all over the internet at the time of this seasons release are being flooded with memes and comments about how much they hate this particular character.

As the story progresses, it feels less like the other characters accomplished something and more like they just have plot armor making ... them succeed despite the blunder. I am now several episodes past the incident, and I just can't get into new events because the story has become less enjoyable just because said supporting character is in it.

Lord Rengue has singlehandedly dropped my rating for this season from an 8 to a 6. I don't care about him redeeming himself, I just hope he isn't in future episodes when they are released.

Boring and obnoxious, but pretty to look at.

Another show saved only by its quality artstyle but with lackluster characters and a female lead who is an angry airhead. She is supposed to be a robot, but was given the quality for having human faults, which makes her a worthless annoying character who can't do anything for themselves and makes life harder for those around her.

The male protag is the generic, dark haired, angry at everything, who doesnt show any emotion except for angst, kind of guy from so many other animes. There is also the shy, unrequited love, best friend next door trope. This ... show didn't even try to make these three cliches subtle.

All of the other reviews on this show say the same thing. "Look at the artstyle!" "The visuals are stunning!" "What an amazingly color palette." But those reviews completely ignore the slow boring pace of the plot and the obnoxiousness of the unlikable characters.

This show is not worth the watch. It's a trash anime dressed up in pretty coloring.

Giant pink hair trope, poor writing, very cliche... the ending scene in the second episode was almost interesting, but it still fell flat. I read that a lot of people didn't watch beyond the first episode and I don't blame theme. There wasn't anything special here.

If you like vampires then don't waste your time on this title. There is nothing about vampires in this story show. It's just a cheese to make the characters seem dark and edgy. And if you can here because you're a fan of the other content, we'll then I'm sure you can find better elsewhere. The action is repetitive ... and dull. There's no build up, there's no change of pace. There's nothing in this show to make it worth your time. I watched this so that you wouldn't have to. Go watch something else, there is much better quality out there.

This is the definition of cringe & bad male protag.

This is a teenaged level romcom that's more com than rom, but it isn't funny. Childish juvenile antics, an oblivious bimbo male protag who misses suggestive cues, and a helpless almost patriarchal level damsel in distress female lead. It's like this show is purposely trying to take every negative trope in anime and make them even worse, all put together in one show.

The premise is weak and shallow. There is no actual plot to follow, just random nonsense from episode to episode. There is no character depth or character development. In short, there's nothing to actually ... watch here. This anime wouldn't even make good background noise. It's not worth watching. Someone else said this is the worst anime they've ever seen, and I have to agree that isn't too far from the truth for me either.

This show is good, idk what ppl are complaining about.

This is a revenge show just like Shield Hero, Redo of Healer, and many others. Its bloody, its edgy, but its not over the top. The writing is pretty good, the motivations of the MC are easy to follow, and most importantly there are no tropey "stupid characters" which is a big plus in my book. It's a story where a character uses his gift effectively because no one else took his power seriously, and it's really entertaining to watch. The MC's growth to power feels similar to that of the show Solo Leveling, and the ... MC gives me that same kind of vibe too. I'm really drawn in to follow along with this story and see the MC achieve his goals.

Now as for the complaints... is the artstyle quality really that big a deal for some people? From what I read, other viewers don't like that this show goes back and forth between animation and CGI. For someone like me who is just paying attention to the story and the character growth, I hardly notice when the artstyle changes so it doesn't bother me. I like the story, I like the characters, I like the monsters, no character is too obnoxious to watch... Overall this is a solid 8/10 for me and I definitely WOULD recommend that other people watch it.

Fair, mid level battle tournament, & tropey...

So first of all I just have to point out something hilarious. The intro song at the beginning of each episode sounds like a drunk old man at a karaoke bar holding a microphone 😆🤣. How did they get an audio recording this bad produced into a publicly released anime?

In any case, the general premise here is a guy who wants to become strong and is trained by a bunch of supernaughts. Its an idea that's been done in many other shows. The first comparison that comes to mind is Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple. The big difference though is ... that the protag in this show is in his 30's instead of being in high-school.

It wasn't a bad watch. Nothing great here but still enjoyable. If you like shows about "Win the Big Fighting Competition!" Then I'd recommend this one. Otherwise, it's not really worth the watch.

Kind of lack luster, another annoying failure goddess trope, and the MC just has everything he needs in his bag all the time for free.

This show should be called, "Free Gifts Forever, In Another World."

So at first I was really drawn in by the title. I was hoping this would be an edgy drama about a parent trying to keep their children safe from dangers in a magical world. But it isn't like that at all. In fact it's almost the opposite.

In any case, I gave the show a rating of 6 but I might end up dropping it to 5. Its ... not a bad show... but there's nothing special here and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Best feel-good, slice of life, female protag anime that I've seen in years. Honestly, a lot of the negative reviews I read just didn't make sense. It seemed more like people complaining were doing so because they were misidentified the genre. This is a recommended watch if you want something refreshing and endearing.

Ryza no Atelier is a great show if you're looking for a lighthearted coming of age story that still maintains that childhood innocence to it. It breaks away from the "teenaged classroom" model and gives us a freah take on "kids just being kids and finding their own way to become adults."

The ... show has adventure, without making it too complicated because the cast is children. It has comedy but without making anyone the "stupid character" for comedic relief. And it has drama, without there having to be some dark twist that's traumatizing to witness. I wouldn't say the show is appropriate for children, but I would say it's a great title for adults who want a realistic reminder of what it was like when we were children.

If you want a break from all the non stop violent action and soul crushing drama that exists in more suspenseful titles, but still want a light-hearted "challenge me so that I can grow" sort of story, I would be hard pressed to think of a better title than this. I read that Ryza no Atelier is based off of a video game, and I have never played it. Idk if that is why it has such a low rating, because it's a game title. But I gave it an 8/10 as just an anime title and not a video game, and I couldn't give you a single complaint that I didn't like about the show.

This anime is pretty cute BUT....

It falls into the telltale trappings of a male protagonist who is afraid of the romantic advances from the shows beautiful female lead. I get that this has been a common trope for the last two decades in anime to instill romantic comedy and control the content rating so that the characters don't fall into adult situations. But it's 2024 and other shows have started to reflect "healthy adult relationships" where grown ups act like grown ups and there isn't anything lewd about it. This show doesn't seem to have any notion of that and as much as I ... like the beginning premise, this anime is just contributing tropes that should really be abandoned.

Now with that said, it does have a really interesting beginning. A man from a fantasy world is isekaied into a different fantasy world. That's a nice touch. It's just sadly wasted on a show that starts out with a compelling first episode and then drops off in quality from there. Additional, new characters are introduced but they are bumbling and stupid. And nobody is really given any screen time dedicated to earning the respect of the audience.

If you want a typical isekai anime where you know what to expect and you're just looking for something simple to relax to, then this anime is still pretty good. Right now I'm rating it as a 7 with the very real expectation of dropping that score to a 6 if they end up introducing a lolicon I spotted in the credits as a relationship partner to the protag. We'll just have to see how it goes. But for now, I'll say it's worth it to watch, but it's not great.

Awesome monster isekai refreshingly abandons so many annoying tropes!

In a genre that oversaturated with so many cheesy teenaged protagonists, it's so nice to see an adult main character who actually behaves LIKE AN ADULT! So no spoilers, but this MC responds to combat tactfully and then doesn't fall into the trap of "I have to be the only strong one." He first takes time to learn his world and situation, then seeks out to improve it.

And when it comes to female characters, he doesn't grossly objectify them and neither does he treat physical relations like they are the bogeyman. I think this just might ... be the first anime I've ever seen that suggests the existence of a healthy sexual response. He doesn't force desires on others, and on the other side of the coin when consent/interest is expressed he doesn't ridicule or shame the thought of it in return, like how every teenaged romcom does. And at the same time, this anime shows that sex between adults can exist without turning it into a hentai. Honestly, when the topic came up it hardly even felt lewd at all because instead it portrayed more like a sensible respectful fulfillment of everyone's feelings.

There are only three episodes of the show released so far, but I have rated this with top marks and will definitely be watching it to the very end. I think if more shows could move into this direction of a full adult cast and follow these trends then I think it would do wonders for anime as a whole.
