So the drip finally stops...
Chapter 144 is the final one for the manga, of which I just got done reading. Overall I thought the series was very charming. Basically, the whole story is a bit like Teasing Master Takagi-san, but more light hearted and the dude isn't actually dense...in fact he's thinner than air. But it's a nice story about how one person can open up your eyes to see a whole new side of the world you've never experienced before. The art has an interesting style from jumping back and forth between chibi and regular art, which heightens the more comedic moments well. And
...
although it's a classic "middle/high school romcom", the characters' personalities and obstacles make it more unique. A good read to where you can knock 10 chapters off each night and go to bed satisfied and relaxed, though some of the arcs make you wanna read just a bit more!
Really my only negative points to it was the pacing wasn't consistent at times which affected the story and visualization of the timeline a bit. Also it being a weekly series made it felt a bit rushed. But other than that, the only other negative thought I have was how it did end. It felt kind of abrupt, and it would've been nice to get a bit more post-story reactions and side stories from the characters. However that doesn't mean the ending was bad at all, it was a straight to the point and wholesome one, so at least it wasn't dragged on like some series. But I guess that's just me being upset that a good manga ended.
I started reading Kubo a few months ago when my local bookstore had the first 3 volumes on display in front of the manga section. I then started to notice it everywhere in other bookstores, with more and more volumes. Flipping through the first chapter, it seemed like a nice change of pace from the other series I read, so I picked up the series (luckily the official publisher posts the chapters online for free, you can just search it up on MangaPlus). And I'm really happy I did and kept up with it. I then learned like 6 months after it was announced that it was getting an anime (ironic now), so that was cool. It's one of the most anticipated series I read each week. Well done to the author and I can't wait to see what they do now!
And hopefully and anime starts back up sometime soon =D

Cute girls doing counter terrorism.
This show blew me away! The first episode was one of the best I've seen in anime and the build up to the climax was PERFECT! Characters and their development I'd say is a 9.6/10, mostly because of the side characters not having a whole lot. But the 2 main characters and still most of the side characters getting that development carries! It's realistic and makes sense, too. You get involved in the relationships very easily and how they interact with each other. Every character is different and has their own personality that is portrayed to absolute perfection! And I

mean that! The VA's are awesome! The villain is not like one we've seen in anime in a while, which is great! There hasn't been a time in any media where I've liked the villain this much! There is also a significant amount of comedy, that is actually funny. As well as heartwarming moments that show the true bonds these characters have made.
Moving onto the story, FAN-TAS-TIC! Original, interesting, and they've always got something to keep you guessing and bring you into the next episode. Any plot points that are unanswered do eventually make perfect sense...but they don't tell you that in long, unnecessary explanations. They still make it clear as day, all the while saving the animation and time for what matters at the given moment. Because of that, there isn't much filler. That makes it exciting and easy to watch all of it in one go.
Animation is beautiful! Fight scenes always stand out and don't follow any classic anime tropes. Character designs are simple, yet mean so much to the personality of each of them. The attention to detail in the backdrops is impressive, accounting for every building, sign, and crack that they can. It's not quite something like Kimi no Nawa, but it's pretty high up on my list!
There's also the aspect of realism in the anime. Using real weapons (Chisato's gun is based off of a custom 1911 airsoft handgun, I think the rest are actual firearms), actual places in Tokyo, and the fact that the terrorism is actually realistic add so much to the relatability and realism to the anime. Sure, some of it can be a bit far fetched, but it's all minor stuff. As someone who has been interesting in modern day firefights and military combat, I can respect all of it. I just love getting to call out on my voice chats "OMG IT'S A GLOCK!" and annoy my friends with it.
Finally, the staff's interaction with the fans is awesome! They're constantly posting behind the scenes photos, their own sketches and drawings, retweeting fanart, and even have a dummy LycoReco Cafe account where they act as if it's a real life cafe, with never before seen official artworks! On the topic of social media, this anime gets into the top 5 trending hashtags WORLDWIDE each and every week, out of EVERYTHING on Twitter, and it makes sense!
Not a single one of these episodes has been less than a 9.8 out of 10 if you ask me. I've asked 3 of my friends to watch this anime, 2 of which aren't even into this kind of fighting, and they have and all have rated it a 10/10 on MAL. I wasn't a fan of girls and guns in anime, but that has swapped it around!
One of the best animes to have come out in the last 6 years if you ask me!

The idea of them bringing back this anime after what, 9 years immediately gave this connotation that it's gonna suck....and that's true.
First season was fine, but the second season...is hard to watch. Firstly, the art seems like it's stuck in 2013-15, as if they finished this anime in 2015, and they decided not to release it for 7 years. While this isn't the biggest concern, it is definitely notable. Secondly, the character design and interactions....bland. There are times where it seems like the characters aren't even interested in their own story. Finally, the overall plot and story. This is the worst part. The appeal
...
from the first season, where it's the devil trying to live a human life while re-gaining the ability to travel back to his homeland, is almost entirely gone. He still wants to go home, but the human life aspect...it's not. It's just supernatural fight after fight. There's no flow between the different arcs, they leave very little room for explanation, and it seems like they tried to fit as many arcs as they can into one season...all the while neglecting the comedy aspect of the show. Any comedy is boring and unfunny, completely the opposite of the first season. And then there's the concept of the events in this season. As I mentioned, they aren't explained very well, so things just kinda happen, but it also doesn't make any sense. I don't mean that in an "I'm confused" way, I mean that as in a "How does that happen?" Like if 2 pigs breed and out comes a cow sort of thing. Just feels like they stitched random things together.
Honestly could've been fine with just the one season. I rated S1 an 8/10, and this is a 5/10, if not lower.
