This anime is remarkably surprising. I mean, the plot itself isn't revolutionary in the least - they have "marriage practice" in their high school. And other than that, it's kind of a faux Nisekoi story - we have the obnoxious gyaru (why does it always have to be gyarus, in recent years!?) who looks shallow on the outside, but is actually quite modest on the inside - the "Chitoge" of the plot, if you will. And the other girl - Shiori - who's the "Onodera (Kosaki)" of this story and they also made her MC's childhood friend.
The story progresses as one would expect.
BUT!!!
It's not in
...
the outcome but the actual journey the characters are going through where it shines. If you just want slow and predictable love story - this is it. It's predictable, but at the same time very sweet. Though admittedly, there's nothing really memorable about it. However, the plot is very stimulating and you just want to watch the next episode and then the next after that. It's not one of those shows where you struggle to push through the end by no means!

In short, this show is the plot line of Power Rangers with Rita Repulsa (as Desumi Magahara) being a young teenage girl in 2022 Japan and in a relationship with the red Power Ranger, Jason Lee Scott ("Red Gelato" - Fudou Aikawa).
This is a remarkably funny show! It sure has beat all of my expectations. Also, it doesn't pretend to be anything but just a comedy for laughs in the shadow of the main duo's developing romance.
There is minimal focus on the actual battles between the Gelato power rangers, but a great emphasis on the relationships of the heroes and the villains - who funnily
...
enough are actually getting along well when they're off-duty. It is a very light vibe that they don't actually try to kill and annihilate one another even in battle. And when someone is knocked out, they just let him be on the ground.

If you're the type of person who loved Death Note but also is crazy for Slice of Life-Romance, this show is a perfect match for you.
Personally, I never even knew this combination was possible and that it would work so well! This show has totally mesmerized me.
From the get-go, the plot quickly delves into the battle of minds between President Shirogane (Miyuki, but he's rarely being called by his given name in the show) and Shinomiya Kaguya. It's the type of Light versus L dynamic, where the two of them have romantic feelings towards each other. But instead of being honest about it with themselves
...
and each other, they try to force the other's hand into confessing to them. Otherwise, they view it as losing face and therefore losing.
Especially Kaguya. I would say that she is much more delusional about the outer world and her inner self. Shirogane is much more well-rounded than her, overall. And he is honest with himself, in contrary to what some other people have suggested previously.

This is a story about a nerdy hikikomori, Yu-san stuck in his parents' home. His fortune changes when he gets a match in a dating app. "Poppo-san", the girl from the app, had a weird fantasy in mind that she wanted eagerly to fulfill.
And no, it's not the kind request that Rui from DomeKano had in mind, as was referenced to in this one shot manga :)
Turned out Poppo-san really wanted to put an end to her life. And for some reason, she thought Yu is gonna be a great partner to commit suicide with! Will their adventure lead them both into the pits of
...
hell, like they wish for? Find our for yourselves... it's only a one shot.

Calling it "romance" is going a little too far. I'd say it's first and foremost just good comedy around a three-way relationship.
This show is very VERY good. Great, in fact. Doesn't deserve nearly as much hate as it gets. But then again, most people have a bad taste.
This is basically a harem story with the little twist being around the fact that two of the girls are actually the official girlfriends of the MC. The situations the characters get themselves into are extremely funny, and the writing is great! The story flows in a very natural and believable way.
As for all the unnecessary hate, you
...
should just go watch the show for what it is - comedy. It is by no means an endorsement or disapproval of any type of relationship, and it is stated over the show multiple times that the characters themselves don't even know if it's right or wrong, but they just go with what feels right and just to them.
Just make yourself some popcorn or open an ice cream tub and enjoy it for what it is. Don't go in all righteous and judgmental towards the characters, or you'll just suffer the whole time.

I would say, first and foremost, that if you like Slice of Life and Romance, this is definitely something that's worthwhile watching!
This anime has a surprisingly strong well-written story! Just like most harem shows, it gets a lot of uncalled for hate.
What I found really special, is that in this anime, teach is explicitly up for grabs! That's right, you read it! The super cute pink-haired young sensei is very much a part of the harem. In a lot of anime series out there, if you actually go read the manga or play the visual novel (if it even has one) having a teacher route
...
is actually quite common. But you don't see that a lot in anime, that's for sure!
By the end of season 1, it's pretty obvious that Uruka is the girl who's going to win. Which is precisely how the manga ended. I don't mind spoiling it, as I don't believe spoiler-protection should be applied to stories that ended years ago.
You see, Uruka very obviously got the best moments written for her with Yuiga. By the ending of episode 8, it became crystal clear that she's the one. Also, she's the only girl that Yuiga clearly caught the feels for, during this season.
Although Fumino Furuhashi definitely achieved some very tall peaks with our MC, in this season. It's actually quite a shame for Fumino, in my opinion. Her, and poor Kirisu-sensei, who really deserves some love :'(
As for Ogata and Asumi - who came last and kinda late - it was obvious that their routes are pretty much dead. Ogata had that one kiss in the mountain moment, and that's the last time we saw her doing anything. To the point that if you have two brain cells to rub together you get the clue that she fulfilled her role in the harem.

TL;DR this anime is a saint isekai.
In this anime, similarly to Slime 300, we have a 25-30 year old single woman who works hard in a corporate setting falling into an isekai (parallel universe). Both series were also broadcasted during the spring 2021 season, surprisingly enough.
Here we have Sei, who is both the hero and the heroine of our story. This is essentially a saint isekai - Sei got into this new world as one of the legendary Saints who appear once in a generation or so. She basically takes the role of being the Jesus of this world - going around healing people and
...
performing miracles.
This anime is labeled as Shoujo, but I would very much say that it's a Josei story. Because Sei is a mature woman in her late twenties and possibly her early thirties - we don't know her exact age, but we did get a hint during the series that she doesn't see herself as a "young girl" like the second girl who fell into this isekai from 2021 Japan, with her. There was a scene where Sei thought of what she could talk with the other girl about and she then thought to herself: "what do I even have in common to talk about with a young girl?". Meaning, that Sei's definitely not in her late teens nor early twenties. Also, she has a love interest in the new world, and their vibes definitely shout that it's a Josei romance, rather than a childish shoujo crush.
On a personal note, it makes me wonder if the isekai genre suddenly got popular with mature women in Japan, or something. We've also got Slime 300 in this season, after all, featuring a 27 year old woman falling into an isekai. I just think it's kinda funny that the focus is on this demographic and not teenage boys, in 2021. Not that I mind, because I'm 28 myself. So, I find stories like that to be much more relatable anyways.
I would also call it a Power Fantasy, as it is clear that no one can hope to surpass Sei in her role. She may not be much of a fighter, but her knowledge of herbs and ability to study and develop potions and magic, very much put her at a league of her own.

I watched Myself; Yourself twice. Once, back when it was new. I was in junior high, I believe. And a second time at 28, now in August 2021.
The story is very memorable. I pretty much recalled 90% of the plot, as I was watching. This story is very 2000s anime-like. It was clearly influenced by stuff like Elfen Lied, which was also roaring at the time, and perhaps even Kanon - with the whole "guy returns to his hometown and rekindles old friendships with nearly-forgotten people."
The most memorable plot-point to me, was the old lady with the animal and human sacrifice. I think that it's
...
actually important to bring the topic out to daylight. Sacrifice used to be a thing across the board in human societies. It's not just the Vikings and peoples from Mesopotamia who practiced it. As time moved on, humanity abandoned this practice in favor of animal sacrifice, and that was pretty much abandoned too, eventually. But, enough with the history...
Yes, this old piece is still worth a watch, I'd say. It's an adaptation of a light novel of 6 chapters (or volumes, not sure about the source's accuracy). It's one of those stories that are short enough to be told over 13 anime episodes.
BUT
The light novel was never translated to English. So, for non-Japanese speaking people, this anime is the only source we've got. Most of the media files out there, are 2000s-quality rips. So, it's also pretty low quality. Nonetheless, if you want a short story *that actually ends like in the source material*, go delve into it.

Getsuyoubi no Tawawa is a story about three heterosexual couples with a significant age gap where the guy is older than the girl and is in a superior position. The characters don't date each other, it's important to lay down. The women are primarily depicted flirting and teasing the men.
This is a repeating theme in this manga, but all three girls have extremely large boobs. As in H-I-J cup. I wouldn't have mentioned it had it not been such a significant plot point. Oppai humor and focus on them happens in every chapter. We don't know the guys' real names nor are their faces even
...
drawn with eyes.
The three stories happen in parallel, but there are points where they intersect. Needless to say, the main area of intersection is the high school where Ai-chan and Maegami-chan study and to which Kouhai-chan is affiliated.
There are two main couples, and a third one introduced later into the story. I'll present them by the order of their appearance:
First couple are Ai-chan (Ai as in I-cup bust size) who is a high school student, and "Onii-san" who is a young adult corporate drone. They met at the train station. Ai-chan accidentally caused Onii-san to get hospitalized, and that's how the two became acquainted. They meet each other every Monday while she's en route to school and he to his job.
Second couple are "Kouhai-chan" and "Senpai". This one is pretty straightforward by their "names" - they both work together in the same company. Senpai is Kouhai-chan's mentor at work, not her direct manager. I think this is kind of important to emphasize, because that's probably how the author wanted to avoid the problems of a relationship between direct-manager and employee. Senpai is clearly in the dominant position over here, but he's only her mentor, so it's less severe.
Third pair are Maegami-chan and "Sensei". Straightforward too - Maegami-chan is a top student at her school and a great athlete but she comes from an impoverished background and a single-mother household. Sensei is a teacher at her school and he's also a workaholic.
Judging by my experience, this story isn't going to be liked by western audiences much. But I want it to be clear - you shouldn't judge a story just because it's not inline with your value system. You can always just avoid it. Also, while it is a bit sketchy, the characters aren't depicted violating laws regarding age of consent or illegal work/school relationships.
Personally, I enjoy this story quite a lot and I think that it's great! Very decent art and writing. Might I suggest, you should read the Blue version - that's how this manga originally started.

It takes a while for this story to take off. Only after 9-10 chapters one can start to get a grip what this show is all about.
In short: Misunderstandings.
Long read: It's a romcom based on a growing house of cards made of misunderstandings. All the characters involved have a fundamentally flawed understanding of pretty much everything in this story. But that's what creates the humor around the sketchy situations they're in.
The story has also laid down early several plot points that will probably cause more interesting stuff ahead. Like both Mona and Medaka being from Japan's countryside but not being aware of it. Mona sometimes
...
blabs out things in her Osaka dialect which she's ashamed of. Nobody took notice so far, but it's one example where the story could take some turns.
That, and Medaka's bizarre cult that he grew up into. I'm sure the author has more ideas in mind as of how to utilize this for the sake of the plot and not just the already well-established misunderstanding that persists over him supposedly not being moved by Mona's charm.
Last but not least, the art in this one is just spectacular! They have very talented mangaka, over there, working on this. I really like it that they draw the girl's figures. Like, they always wear these baggy tops that make them appear slightly chubby. It just makes everything look much more realistic. And Mona's expressions are just priceless - both the positive and negative ones. State of the art!
