Just a quick review since no one else has made one yet.

Pros: Interesting idea/concept for the story
Decent execution on said story
Decent gore scenes

Cons: Art overall is a bit sub-par
Way too many characters for only 3 volumes/17 chapters. Hard to get attached to really any of them.
Pace can be a bit too quick (a reason why the number of characters is a detriment).

... Overall a mildly interesting read. Would recommend for something to pass the time, but shouldn't really be a priority.

Now, I give Tokyo Ghoul an 8, yet it is a very weak 8 due to some glaring issues with pacing and the characters. Now, let me start off by saying that I have not read the manga and I did enjoy the show to a degree.

Let's start with the good of the show. Aside from censorship, the art is very nice with interesting visuals and decent animation. I have no complaints about the music, not my favorite, but not bad. The story is pretty engaging and keeps you interested.

Now, onto the bad and why I consider the show a weak 8 ... at best. The pacing in this show is really bad. some things you just have to accept that they happened without them actually being shown, like Kaneki's fighting training. I believe that they show him training once, during which he doesn't exactly do well, and then later, he remarks how his fighting training has really helped. So you just assume that he has been training, without actually seeing it. Since everything happens pretty quickly, you never really gain any attachment to the vast majority of the characters. Most of which get very little backstory, if any, and are easy to forget. Finally the ending is basically saying "now wait for season two", The main fight in the end takes only a few minutes, due to some pacing issues in the last episode, but this time, they drew everything out in the last episode and leave no time for conclusion and rush the moment you were waiting for.

If the show was, say, 24 episodes, they could have avoided these issues and my grade and overall feel on the show would be better. Take the issues with a grain of salt and enjoy what's there, which kept my grade at an 8, although a very weak one at that. Just have to sit back and wait for a second season for (hopefully) a conclusion.

This show reminded me alot of Akuma no Riddle for one reason: I was on board with the plot for most of the show, but then the last episode(s) end up leaving a sour taste in my mouth.

Plot: Pertaining to the speed at which the plot progresses, most of the show was a decent pace, easy to follow and enjoyable. Then, the last few episodes decided to hop onto a military fighter jet and move at mach 1. The ending is a bit of an anti-climax and made all the build-up seem pointless.

Art: The art was nice for the most part, except for all the ... censorship. It's an R rated show, show the violence.

Sound: Liked the first intro, not the second. Insert songs were decent.

Characters: I did enjoy most of the characters, but there weren't really anything special about them.

Enjoyment: Enjoyed the show for the most part, but like I said, the ending leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

Overall: I honestly would have given this show an 8 if it didn't mess up the ending so badly. I do plan on reading the manga to see what the original was like and to see how the story was supposed to be.

*Keep in mind, I've never played the game(s) before and this is solely based on the anime itself* Now, to the review.

Easily the Goriest bit of anime that I have ever seen.

Normally, I can handle gore pretty well, but this show just made my blood run cold. Very detailed and graphic in all of the deaths.

Anyway, Positives: Creepy atmosphere, gruesome deaths, gore, gore, did I mention gore, and also, gore. This show also had one of my favorite voice acting performances I've heard in a while: The voice of Sachiko Shinozaki, done by Ikue Ootani. Just beautifully done in my opinion.

Negatives: Basic ... story that I didn't really care about and you never really build attachments to any of the characters. other than that, nothing stood out to me as negative.

Overall: Extremely graphic, but highly interesting. Would recommend.

Here we go, a short review for a short show. The good in this show is that it has 2 likable main characters in the two sisters and an episodic and enjoyable plot. The one thing that is a bit annoying about the show is that it seems like they try to inject feeling into it. The moments that are supposed to be sad or tense(ish) tend to feel forced and plain weird, the exception is the last episode, but I digress.

Overall a decent show, would be better if some moments didn't feel forced.

Well, what to say about Mars of Destruction. Having not seen a lot of bad anime, I decided to watch this to see what that looks like, and it did not disappoint. The animation is incredibly lazy, hardly showing any movement at all. The plot is nearly incomprehensible. The music, either non-existent or orchestra music that just doesn't fit. They probably found what was free and went with that. They barely even try to introduce characters to you, they're just there.

The only positive thing I can say is that it is unintentionally funny just from sheer stupidity.

Overall, 1/10. This show is an example ... of what happens when you try to condense a plot that could go at least 12 episodes into a 19 min OVA, nothing good can come from that.
