Nothing is perfect but a good ending can make a journey feel perfect as it can make everything make sense in the grand scheme. A great ending can make the whole feel better than it's parts and that's how I feel about Golden Wind.
The idea of fate and how everyone is a slave to it no matter what basically made everything in part 5 make sense. Giorno joining bucciartis gang and everything leading up to diavolos death was fated to happen from the beginning. The ones fated to die did die and the ones fated to survive carried on the will of the dead as
...
it's their duty to do so. Diavolo tried to change his fate, he tried to run away from past believing he was special and had overcome fate bcz of his stand but in the end he was fated to encounter Giorno and die over and over eternally. Giorno bcz of golden resolve grasped his fate to it's fullest extent and became the boss he wanted to be and ridding the country of drugs thus carrying out buccaratis will.
No one can change fate, all your actions are in accordance to what's been fated to happen and the last arc defines this. If u do try to change fate there will be repurcussions but thats not always a bad thing as mista prolonged bucciartis death by basically making it so abacchio and narncias died as well but they made the most of their fate by also taking down the boss.
As compared to part 4, I'd say it has a better Jojo(GioGio), better and more impactful deaths, a slightly more satisfying ending and a great overarching theme of fate whereas part 4 had better side characters, a better vilain, more consistent animation (but I did watch the Blu-ray version so..) and a great combination of fun, mystery and dread in the town of Morio.
Also a shout-out to Abbachios death for being truly incredible and my fav death in Jojo as it was completely unexpected and yet makes 100% sense for Diavolos perspective as he posed the biggest threat to revealing Diavolos indentity. Also the dance is single greatest scene in anime history (JK not really).
So part 5 has some drawbacks like poor animation in a few eps in the middle and narncias death was slightly butchered at the last moment but the ending made up for everything. The satisfaction and simulataneous longing for more I felt as I watched the last scene was truely a golden experience...
PS Animated part ranking 4>5>3>2>1
