This anime changed my life.

I had always thought: "Female authors don't really understand how to write realistic, believable male (especially main) characters."

Oh boy how wrong I was.

The author of Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu does an astonishing job at conveying every emotion that the main character, Ichikawa, feels since the very beginning, during his entire transformation, and until the very end of this anime adaptation. This second season focuses on the development of the unusual relationship between Ichikawa Kyotaro and Yamada Anna, as well as Ichikawa's view of the world around him, and Yamada's struggle between her professional and personal life. We ... are introduced new characters, and we get to know more about former characters in the show and the relationships between them.

If you already watched the first season or are unsure whether to jump into BokuYaba, I can only tell this to you: If you like the overall genres (romcom, scchool, slice of life), then I totally recommended that you give it a chance. I rarely put a 10/10 score but this series deserve it all the way.

I'll be looking forward to the third season of Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu with great interest.

A lovely anime. What can I say?

As a genre I am not quite used to watch, it was interesting to see the differences between life being a boy vs life being a girl and all the funny situations that happened due to this.

Music and overall OST is pretty enjoyable. Art and animation were colorful and bright, which combined with a fast-paced narrative, made it very enjoyable to watch. I surely enjoyed every minute of it.

This however might not be an anime suited for all. You like it or you don't, and that's fine. I'd definitely recommend that you give it a try ... and watch at least the 3 first episodes.

As for me... Give me 3 more seasons and I'll be sure to devour them!

Platinum End, the next work from the creators of Death Note and Bakuman! Only by hearing this, you would definitely think this will be a masterpiece! Or at least worth watching.

It is not.

Story: 2/10. Spoilers ahead.

The main character is God Candidate Kakehashi Mirai, the opposite of Yagami Light from Death Note which, far from wanting to become the God of the New World, just wants... everyone to be happy. How does he achieve this? Will he become God? Does he desire this? What is his master plan? He doesn't have any plan at all. He just plain says 'I want everybody to be happy' ... from time to time. That's all the character.

Hanakago Saki, Mirai's childhood friend and love interest, is a one-dimensional girl that doesn't have any development at all besides being sorry for Kakehashi-kun, which led her to a severe depression until she met her angel, Revel, at the moment of her suicide attempt. She likes flowers, hence the misterious flower shots during the opening.

The main (first arc) enemy, Uryuu Kanade (or Metropoliman) is a hollow copy of Yagami Light; he is a guy who wants to rule the world because he thinks he is better than everyone else, period. He was obsessed over her sister, which caused her death, but that doesn't matter, since this will never have any impact on the story whatsoever. Just another useless fact among many others. The only good character is later introduced: Mukaido Nanato. A middle-aged salaryman who has terminal cancer and wants to protect and make his family happy. This is the character that meets Mirai and Saki and tells them how to be useful throughout the series.

The story setting is very basic-minded, full of useless rules (999 days limit to choose a new God or there will be, uh, consequences? angels being promoted/demoted because, uh, reasons?) and back stories that never have any impact at any point in the entire story. God and his angels are extremely one-dimensional, basic-minded -sometimes selfish- beings. Heaven is... white, empty and boring. Souls of those who die just go to the trash can, because they do.

The end of the story is -far from unexpected- pathetic, at best.

Art: 7/10.

Takeshi Obata delivers, although the 'battle suits' designs are plain, bland.

Sound: 7/10.

BAND-MAID performs a great rock song for the opening theme. The OST isn't particularly outstanding but fulfills its purpose. The arrows sound effects are very good, although overly loud sometimes. The rest is just good enough. The ending is good, but nothing memorable.

Enjoyment: 4/10.

I still watch this after I finish watching all my other weekly anime episodes. Since I've read the manga, I just want to experience the whole thing animated. After I've read a manga, I look forward to the anime adaptation. I'm a simple person: I like anime, I watch anime.

Overall: 4.2

The story is really, really bad. The characters are one-dimensional. World building is non-existent. No new rules, enemies, concepts, anything, are introduced throughout the series. After episode 1, it is what it is.

Sadly, this is not the Death Note successor you were hoping for.

Did I enjoy Platinum End? To some extent, I did.
Would I drop it? No.
Is it bearable? Up to you.
