Yasuke: A different work.

Well, at the end of April we had a somewhat… different work… Yasuke is based on the story of the First, and only, African samurai in the Japanese feudal era, Yasuke, yet told in a more playful way, with magic and ... Mechas... The story begins in 1582, during the episode known as the “Honnoji Incident”, in thelast moments of the first unifier, Lord Nobunaga, but because it begins in the end of an era? Because the story is not from his point of view but from one of his samurai, Yasuke, a slave who became a samurai, with land and title. ...

From that point on, the story begins to alternate from 1602, where the story takes place, and between1579-1581, for flashbacks from the time that Yasuke served Lord Nobunaga, exploring aof the clan's bloodiest periods.

Story: Take the anime “Sengoku Musou”, based on the same period, but I divide itat different times, you can distinguish the characters, it's playful in itself, but thehistory is there, the history of japan. In Yasuke… well… apart from the protagonists (Yasuke and Saki), all the other characters are unforgettable, from Saki’s little friend to the generic villains with generic mentalities. The footless and headless plot is another that the satisfaction in watching the work decreases, Hanzo Hattori did not participate in the conflict of Iga already that he was loyal to Tokugawa Ieyasu, Nobunaga's greatest ally, the greatest villain in history is only mentioned until the 3rd episode, the other two Unifiers are only mentioned in the first 10 seconds of the anime, but even so it seems that they erased the existence of them in history, it is most striking being after the Sekigahara war.

Another work that managed to do something similar but that was totally well done was Capcom with Onimusha, I watched it thinking that it was possible to have an anime about this series of games.

It is worth noting that prior knowledge of the Oda period is recommended, in order to nuances that is done in the flashbacks, be it from Lord Nobunaga's relationship with Yasuke, in the view of satisfaction, of a perfect son, Mitsuhide Akechi's dissatisfaction about his lord's progressive position, even about the cruelty to the Nobunaga's enemies, or even rumors, that were later dealt with in the literature of Edo period, about Nobunaga's homosexual interaction with his bodyguard, Ranmaru Mõri.

Characters: Yasuke is a well-made character, he has his motivations and is still pursued by his memories of the past, about his actions. Saki on the other hand, is generic, is the child character with powers that she cannot control and that is consuming little by little, but out of nowhere she learns to control without any training or effort, this is kind of ... Meh.

The Mercenaries is the icing on the cake, the randomness is incredible, we have since a Japanese who uses a Harpe, a robot with artificial intelligence, an African with spiritual powers and even a Russian who turns into a bear. And well they are mercenaries, however someone paying them ... it would be nice if there was a little story behind them, something like what was done in Samurai 7 by Mizutaka Suhou, like I just went to find out their name in the last two episodes, it’s ridiculous, before that I was calling “Woman with Sickle Sword, Robotic Joke, Russian Bear-Woman and African Wizard.”

Villains is a little difficult to quantify: We have Daimyo Hojõ, Priest, General Sombrio, and another general from Daimyo, the only two that have something “concrete” are Daimyo and Priest, both with their own motives, however it is worth noting that the priest’s plot does not add in no way, it is simply a plot situation for Saki to use its powers.

Historical characters are complicated, just Yasuke, Mitsuhide, Nobunaga and Ranmaru are painstakingly portrayed, the rest is expendable. The anime puts a mess of OC characters to supply the main plot, Morisuke and Matsumaru are an example addition, one serves for Saki and Yasuke’s story while the other serves only for one Redemption pseudo-bow for Yasuke.

Animation: Estudio Mappa did a great job animating this, from fighting one against one of swords since the spells, a few moments I saw a half-mouthed CGI but I can be mistaking. It has similarity to the Castlevania anime in graphic terms.

Music: It was cool to mix Japanese classical music with Western techno, contrast for work to be different from others.

In short, the Work is good as well as fictional but we cannot say that it is the story about the Yasuke's life, as the story was sold, there are still three versions to find out, Samurai Warriors 5 (Game), Yasuke from Lionsgate (Movie) and the Brazilian Comic “Yasuke, O Samurai Africano ”by Isaac Santos”

Aggressive Retsuko or simply Aggretsuko, comes again to shine in this season of animes with his new second season. Continuing to address the life of our beloved lil'Red Panda in addition to addressing serious issues like Harassment at Work, Employed mother's life, arranged marriage services and the importance of marriage these days, especially in Japanese society.

The second season began with the first challenge that our protagonist should overcome, his mother. A mother who is 100% preoccupied with her daughter, from factors of living alone, such as "Are you eating well?" "Are ... you cleaning the house?" To her relationships, where she wants her daughter to have a marriage arranged for get married soon

Relationships is the key word of this season, be it the relationships in the workplace as well as the loving relationships, we see very well in this in the three counterparts: Anai, Retsuko's temperamental beginner, the relationship in danger of Mrs. Gori's with Washimi and Tadano , the new boyfriend of Retsuko.

The first part of the anime revolves around the arrival of Anai in the company of the protagonist, who after some "Suggestions" of Retsuko, Anai get in a state of Fury, discounting with those who caught his attention, in a socially weird way. but it was in this first part that we had a deeper view of the Hippopotamus Mrs. Kaba, where she was the only one who managed to "tame" the vengeful spirit of Anai, where the same being the opposite of Retsuko, using electronic rap music as a valve of escape.

In this part we understand more about the difficulty of creating a family in modern times, whether in Japan or in the world, both through Mrs. Kaba and Supervisor Ton. beyond the question of understanding how the minds of our fellow workers work, to approach them and try to help them, of course in a polite way.

The second part has a point of ignition the fact that Retsuko, after being pressured by his mother (of course, wanting too), take the driver's license, knowing in the process the lazy Tadano. In the advance of the episodes we see that she ends up feeling attracted to him, but soon her world collapses when she that not that who does not seem to be, from a lazy unemployed to a Company President of super-famous Start-up.

Tadano in History was "The Rider on White Horse" to Retsuko, she saw that she wanted to stay with him forever, not because of her money but rather to really like him. The point of rupture was when everyone discovered their relationship, where Tadano himself makes a comment about not wanting to get married, because it did not make sense to him, the complete opposite to her.

Here we are introduced to the importance of marriage, something shown in five ways: By Retsuko's mother, a lady who is already entering the third age where for her daughter has to get married fast to start his wife life (I almost heard a "I WANT GRANDCHILDREN "); By Mrs. Kaba, a mother who works by day but when she comes home, takes care of her children and husband, acting as an example of a family-driven wife, by the Washimi, a divorced woman who believes that after marrying the person who love, love is slowly going away; For Gori, a woman of forty who is still looking for her soul mate; And even Supervisor Ton, who uses marriage and family as a way to continue following "Tedious" life according to his words.

Summing up: Retsuko ends up forming her own vision of what marriage would be, the vision she so dearly wanted to marry the person she loves so much, not to run away from a bad job or the approval of others, but to have something to follow your life, giving you your motivation to keep moving forward.

Regarding this season, let's say it was really fun to watch, not just for comedy or fun moments, but for Retsuko's daily life, wondering how she'll react the next day, or how she's going to get around the situation. It was very cool for them to implement other types of music besides Heavy Metal, especially for key moments such as Retsuko and Tadano Duet or Anai's Escape Valve.

Something that was missing in my opinion was more of Retsuko's mother's scenes during the final episodes, perhaps an apology coming from her (mother) or even an advice about the situation that was forming with the relationship with Tadano. Not to mention a more present participation of the friend of childhood of the protagonist, that only had three moments in the history, where two form characteristics of the personage and the third one is a comic relief.

But something that shines always is the sermon of Supervisor Ton, and with this he managed to overcome the sermon of the first season, not for being more radical as first, but pulled to a more sentimental side, causing Retsuko to wake up from his fantasy that would never be done that way.

In conclusion, the second season did not fall into the curse of being a continuation, she managed to make me more excited to watch the following episodes, even missing out on a bigger performance of Fenneko and Haida, the story delivered a fun, exciting ending and leaving open for a possible third season.

Highscore Girl, I never thought that an anime about videogame could so well engage the genres of Romance and Drama from the making of the universe to its protagonists and Secondary Characters.
I'm crying.

Story: We know the story of Haruo Yakult, I mean, Yaguchi, an Otaku-type Videogame, fascinated in arcade and especially fighting games.
Until one day, he is beaten by a girl from his room, Akira Oona, the only problem was that she was his counterpart: Rich, Intelligent and educated.
From this, history is advancing in the 90's, with their rivalry.

When we think of an anime of this genre some (like me) will think of the Anime ... of 2017, Gamers !, which ended up taking the sub genre of Romance a bit seriously and transformed the anime into a Romance Comedy, somewhat forgetting the initial plot, the video game and the relationship it can bring.

The Anime was totally faithful to the behavior of the protagonist and to their lifestyle, it is as if you were watching a history lesson about the explosion of video games in the early 90's.

In some moments the anime impresses with the plot, in others they end up sinning, but this comes from the manga and the own conception of the Yaguchi and the Oona, as for example the behaviors.

Art: This is an area to be debated, the anime was mounted in CGI, which ended up combining in some comic situations of the work. However from time to time the CGI seems a bit different in some scenes, but it does not compromise the rest of the anime.

Sound: The opening fit correctly with the story, but something that caught my attention was definitely Ending, because it shows the essence of the 90's, especially in the beats, of course taking a little of the new of our time from now.

Characters: Haruo Yaguchi, Akira Oona and Koharu Hidaka, each of them has a depth set throughout the anime, not to mention much of the story, Haruo ends up discovering that life is more than just Video Games, even though sometimes it ends up being a asshole with your friends and colleagues.

However we have the girls of the story, Akira and Koharu, they have a gigantic change during the years of the anime, especially Koharu. One of the most shocking scenes of the anime is that of Akira, but I will not say in which episode, being his criterion to discover;)

The secondary characters are unique as well, each one has a characteristic that differentiates them from the others around them, such as Onizuka's look, Doi's player way, Yaguchi's Mother's novels vice plus her wrestling skills, her attentive eyes of the Miyao.

Overall: It's an anime to have fun, it still uses a lot of the sentimental appeal of the one who is watching, I've watched a lot over the course of my life but it was the first time I was sad, I even cry in some scenes, tried to understand the side of the character in question.

It's a faithful anime for people who love classic video game, romance and school life, remembering what happens in the 90's, it's rare to see an anime that decided to focus on the past instead of the future. But Warn, Watch with a clean mind.
