Synopsis:
A new phenomenon has appeared among mankind. 80 percent of the population possess superpowers known as “Quirks”, and this gave birth to the rise of heroes and villains. Being a hero has always been high school student Midoriya Izuku’s dream, and All Might, the greatest hero of all, is his all-time inspiration. Unfortunately, Midoriya learns that he possesses no Quirks and is fated never to become a hero at all. One day, he gets rescued by none other than All Might himself after being attacked by a villain. Little did he know that on that fateful day, he learned All Might’s deepest secret, one
...
that would change his life forever and what it means to follow All Might’s footsteps.
Pros:
I. The characters are earnest, down to earth, and lovable.
A. Midoriya
Midoriya is one character who shows what being a hero really means. Born without any Quirks, he gets a opportunity of a lifetime. With hardwork and dedication he his able to achieve his childhood dream of becoming a recognized hero, like his idol All Might. Literally brought me to tears watching him grow as a character. He deserves respect.
B. Bakago
Bakago is not a one dimensional rival. The relationship between Midoriya and him is explored; from childhood to the present.
II. Nobody is overpowered
When I say nobody I mean nobody, not even the super beast All Might.
III. Emotion
The reason why the characters are likable is because their personalities are explained, which makes them feel genuine.
Cons:
I. Cast size/Screen time
Character development is the anime's greatest strength but just for a few a them. Not everyone is fully developed, even important characters like the main villain. Simply put there too many characters and just too little episodes.
II. Weird pacing
The first half is kind of slow being all about Midoriya training and trying to become a hero. While the second half is high paced action, fighting real villains. Would have been better if it was maybe 26 episodes but it did officially get a 2nd season in 2017 which I am hype to see.
III. Cliche-ish
The story is the basic herose versus villians.

Synopsis:
Ippo Makunouchi is nice gentle kid who always get bullied because he smells like fish from working at his family’s fishing boat rental business, with no father at home Ippo tries his to help his mom. One day a middleweight boxer saves Ippo from the bullies and takes him to Kamogawa boxing gym where he realizes that all the manual labor he did made him stronger than he thought. With this Ippo sets his goal on becoming a professional boxer.
Pros:
The fight scenes are amazing, they are filled with good strategy and have intense drama that keep you at the edge of your seat.
The show is
...
very funny with lighthearted gags that repeat throughout the show.
The show doesn't just focus on Ippo which great because it gives you a chance view the life of the fighters in the gym and gives them all a chance to shine.
The animation and art style work perfectly for this show.
125 episodes of pure amazement.
Cons:
Sadly they only ever adapted 1/2 of the manga if you want check out the manga after all 3 seasons start at chapter 557.
Final Recommendation:
With the rise of all the hype of sports anime in the recent years (Kuroko no Basket, Haikyuu, and Diamond no Ace) many people look pass Hajime no Ippo. So any sports anime fan I'd highly recommend you watch Hajime no Ippo and check out the manga after. It's roughly about 125 episodes( +/- a few episodes) with amazing action, quality drama, giggly comedy, and even a little bit of romance. Even if you aren't a sport anime fan I'd still recommend this. It always great to see how hard work and dedication will take you places. Hajime no Ippo is the definition of a underdog story and it just an amazing ride to see.

Synopsis:
Ichigo Kurosaki seems to be a regular highschool student, except for the fact that he has been able to see and talk to ghosts since he was a kid. One day, his house is attacked by a malevolent spirit, known as a hollow. He’s saved by Rukia Kuchiki a shinigami sent to kill the hollow and protect the living. Rukia fails to defeat the Hollow, and instead places her hopes on Ichigo, to whom she transfers her powers. After defeating the beast, Ichigo is saddled with the responsibility of protecting his town from evil spirits with Rukia as his mentor.
Pros:
Amazing fight scenes with cool
...
powers and villains.
The characters are amazingly well done in terms of character design.
There is a variety of powers and abilities.
And all around just a badass show.
Cons:
1/3 of the 366 episodes are fillers albeit not all were bad.
The fact that the anime got cancelled and never decided to animate that last arc of the story.(If you want to check out the manga after the you finish the anime read chapter from 479)
Bleach has in my opinion the 2nd highest amount of plot armor in anime, losing 1st to Fairy Tail.
There are 3 worlds and yet there is hardly any world building.
Ichigo actually only has one move :/ (Getsugaaaaaa Tenshooooo)
Weird pacing issues, mainly due to the fact that Shounen Jump was rushing Tite Kubo to finish.
And oh God that fucking ending!!!!(Referring to the manga)
So I'd still recommend Bleach to anyone who is trying to get into anime or to someone who likes action/shounen battle anime. Bleach does have 336 epsiodes so it is a bit time consuming. But if you skip all the filler it's only 200 episodes.

Synopsis:
Alchemy is the art of transforming matter. However in order to create something, the alchemist has to present something of equal value; this is the golden rule of alchemy. Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood is the story of two brothers Edward and Alphonse Elric who are in search of a philosopher's stone, so that they can get back their bodies after a botched experiment with alchemy, in which Edward loses his arm and his leg and has to transmute Alphonse’s soul (which lost its body,) to a suit of armor when they tried to resurrect their mother after she died from a disease.
Pros:
Brilliantly highlight the characteristics
...
of the main characters.
The visuals are stunning, with beautiful character designs and animation.
The music for the most part good; in some instances beautiful.
The characters are always true to their personalities and characteristic.
Action scenes: Masterful; the cherry on top of all the other great qualities.
The symbolism makes you wonder if this is anime or poetry?
Cons:
For fans of the manga, the anime doesn't follow it 1:1 and left out a few characters.
Has a different ending than ending than the FMA (2003) of you prefered that one.
