Kimi no Iru Machi. Where to start with this one... Well, for one, I did NOT enjoy this anime. I'm usually quick to drop series that I'm not into that much, but I wanted to try giving it more time to interest me. So, did this series interest me? Yes, in a way, it did. I wanted to know if the story goes further downhill or if it gets any better along the way.
For me personally it just got worse. I suppose that if I tried really hard, I could find some moments where the story had gotten little better for a moment here
...
and there or a character made a smart decision for once, but if you look at the bigger picture (like this anime overall), those little things are so insignificant, they‘re not even worth mentioning.
This anime tries to take a more realistic approach to relationships and love, and while I think it’s worth praising for that, I just can’t help but feel that it fails miserably.
To quickly go over the aspects of the anime:
Story: It had some potential, the idea wasn’t bad, though I feel the approach and execution of it was.
Art: Not the best I’ve seen, but not bad either. No complaints here.
Sound: The soundtrack was probably my favorite part of the show. The OP song stood out the most to me.
Character: Only 1 or 2 of the characters were at least ‘ok’ to me. Plus, the story didn’t favor them at all and they ended up… Well I can’t say, because I don’t want to spoil anything if you DO decide to watch this series.
Enjoyment: Can’t say that I completely despised watching this anime (wouldn’t have managed to finish it if I did), but I definitely can’t say that I had a good time watching this either.
Overall: Kimi no Iru Machi tried to do something different, but unfortunately, it failed. I would not recommend watching this anime.

Before I state my opinion about the show I‘d like to say that this is an anime that holds a special place in my heart, seeing as FMA (Fullmetal Alchemist), and FMAB (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood) were my very first anime series (well, not including the Pokemon, Naruto and etc. episodes I used to watch on TV as a kid). These were the series that first showed me how great the anime medium can be. That said, this review may or may not be a little biased because of how special the series are for me personally.
In short I would describe FMA as a great story
...
about the adventures of two brothers, their quest to achieving their goal, their hardships along the way and how their relationship grows stronger despite that. Throw in some likable characters they interact with while on their journey, great fight scenes, lighthearted comedy and a lot of alchemy and you got a general idea what FMA is about.
Story (10)
The story has a clear goal to move towards, but it doesn’t mean that it’s the only thing you’re going to see here. There are plenty of smaller segments, that are kind of short stories of their own, but they don’t go too far off the main story. Most tie into the main story in some way or another and I don’t think I’ve seen anything that felt like it could have been skipped or was unnecessary.
My main complaint with FMAB is that the first 12 or so episodes felt rushed, but if you’d like to watch the story unfold in more detail the first 30 or so episodes of the first anime adaptation of this series (in 2003) covers mostly the same story just in a slower pace.
The beginning aside, in my opinion, FMAB beats the first adaptation in the ending department by a mile. I won’t spoil it for you if you haven’t seen it yet, but because of this, if you only have the chance to watch one of the adaptations, I’d recommend watching brotherhood, even though both of the adaptations have their own different charms and are worth a watch.
Art (10)
The animation style isn’t overly cute or overly rough and the colors aren’t too bright nor are they too bland. The animation is fluid and I didn’t notice any major faults with it.
I think it’s also worth mentioning that this show has one of if not the best fight scenes, especially involving some sort of magic (in this case – alchemy) that I’ve seen so far in anime.
Sound (10)
The OPs ranged from ok to good, even thought I personally liked the first adaptation’s OP songs better.
I have no complaints about the sound effects. They aren’t out of place and work well.
Personally, I have seen the dubbed version of this anime, and I have to say, the DUB is really good. The voice actors did a good job and they fit their characters well. If you like myself don’t usually watch dubbed anime because a lot of the times it just doesn’t seem to work, but don’t mind it when the DUB is good, I’d recommend at least trying the dubbed version of FMA.
Character (10)
As I have mentioned earlier, I find the characters very likable. Let’s start with the main characters – Edward and Alphonse or Ed and Al for short. The two brothers and their relationship is one my favorite parts of this show. They are smart and capable, yet not perfect. Both of them make mistakes and learn from them. Even though they share a very strong sibling bond with each other, they still disagree and fight at times. These are all things that make them believable human characters and it brings me joy to watch them change and grow over the span of the story.
The brothers aren’t the only characters that change and grow over time, though. The more important supporting characters also develop quite a bit throughout the story, including the villains.
Speaking of villains, FMA has some really good ones. I unfortunately can’t go into much detail about them without spoiling the story, but I can say for sure that I rarely ever see anime villain characters that I love, or should I say love to hate as much as I do in this show. Their motives make sense and I was even able to sympathize with some of them to an extent. Perhaps most importantly, the villains aren’t villains just for the sake of the story having someone for the main characters to defeat, but instead they are actual characters with good reasons for acting the way they do.
Enjoyment (10)
It probably comes as no surprise, when I say that I enjoyed this anime to bits. It was the first anime (well the second if you count the first adaptation as a separate anime, which I personally do not) that I’ve ever seen from start to finish, it has what I consider to be a great story with some of the best characters I’ve ever seen and it probably helps that I am very fond of elements such as alchemy, strong sibling and/or friend relationships and action in not just anime, but other entertainment mediums as well. And to top it all off – a nice and clean animation style and a fitting soundtrack, what’s there not to love?
Overall (10)
Is this anime for everyone? Well, no, I doubt such an anime exists, but that aside I think this anime can be easily enjoyed by most anime viewers. It has a great story for those that want one, great action for those that enjoy shows better when there’s a lot of movement involved, characters that feel human for those that want to see characters change and grow, comedy for those that like to have a good laugh with their anime and etc.
Fullmetal Alchemist really is a great anime, and I think it’s one that you should at least give a try to. Who knows, maybe you’ll find something else it’s worth praising for? Or maybe you’ll find the exact opposite – a major fault that has escaped my attention? Either way, I hope you give it a try.

A fun, easy to watch and quite a refreshing comedy anime - is what I would say about Hoozuki no Reitetsu if I were asked to describe it in a single short sentence.
Story (7)
The story in Hoozuki no Reitetsu is really all about the characters and their interactions with each other. For the most part, their interactions don’t change much (if anything) in the grand scheme of things and the episodes aren’t really connected to each other, except some minor changes that happen along the way. Each episode is more or less its own, and that can be either a good or a bad thing,
...
depending on the person, but I personally think it’s an ok thing, seeing as the series doesn’t have a big goal to move towards, and nothing major changes from episode 1 to 13.
Art (8)
I don’t have much to say about the art style, other than: it looks different from the usual anime style and is pleasing to the eye.
Sound (8)
The OP song is pretty catchy and in fact it’s still stuck in my head as I’m writing this review. The sound effects throughout the show weren’t out of place and I found the voice acting to fit the show and its characters well.
Character (8)
Perhaps the part of the show that shines the brightest for me, the characters were interesting and I found quite a bit of enjoyment watching them interact with each other and the world around them. As far as I can tell, there were no characters that were annoying or brought the show down in my eyes for any reason.
Enjoyment (8)
No matter how good the story, art, soundtrack or the characters are, it would all be useless if the show just wasn’t enjoyable. Fortunately, Hoozuki no Reitetsu doesn’t have this problem and is a good time all the way.
Overall (8)
There’s not much else I can say about this show, other than: go try it if you’re a fan of the comedy genre in anime. I doubt this show will disappoint.
P.S. For those that like Japanese mythology, as a fan myself, I noticed a few bits of it here, but don’t go in expecting too much, it’s mostly just a few mentions here and there.

If you're looking for an anime to watch after a hard day (or in any other situation where you want to take it easy and relax), look no further than Isekai Shokudou.
This anime is extremely relaxing and easy to digest. The message here is simple - food brings people (and other anime creatures) together. Food that looks and tastes like an exquisite piece of art can be appreciated by all, no matter their race, background, views and etc.
The show has nice, clean animation, the soundtrack fits the show well and the vibes are warm and cozy.
If that sounds like your thing - definitely check
...
it out, if you don't know how you feel about this type of show - try it, it's a good one to start with.

When I was first introduced to STB (Strike the Blood) by someone whose taste in anime generally matches mine, I was a bit surprised. I didn't think that a show with tags like "ecchi" and "harem" could be what I consider a good show. My, was I wrong.
As you may have noticed from my rating for this show (8), I actually really enjoyed it. For me this is a very casual show, one that you can pick up or "pause" any time, as it doesn't have a very important story to follow or any details that you have to be careful not to miss if
...
you want to enjoy STB to it's fullest, because the show's strengths lie not in the story, but in the simple and fun stupidity accompanied by some pretty good action and of course don't forget the ecchi part of it (unless it's not a something you like at all, in which case, this show is probably not going to be all that enjoyable for you.)
Perhaps, what I like best about STB is that it doesn't pretend to be what it isn't. It doesn't pretend to have a complex story or deep character development. It's got simple fun, pretty action and it's perverted as hell. In other words, it doesn't do all that much, but what it does, it does great.
To summarize, this is a show that I enjoyed quite a bit and if you are looking for something "light" and easy to watch, you're probably going to enjoy it too.
