I have decided to write a very honest review on Shinsekai yori which to be honest I had really mixed feelings about it.
And I am pretty sure I am going to get hate just because I stated my opinion.
In my opinion Shinsekai yori is a fantastic series that was very very badly executed and you will get what I mean as I go more through the details.
Story 9/10
After a millennium , Humans believe to have found their Utopian world , built on the remains of the dark history that humans made. The Story follows Watanabe Saki and her friends who are students at Sage
...
Academy which is a school that teaches students how to control their Cantus , a psychic power humans use to make their lives easier. Well but that's just essentially the beginning as this is a very very dark show which I won't speak of since I would like to keep it as a surprise . Problem is the transitions were really bad and there were some unnecessary moments that were nothing but a waste of time.
Art 8/10
The Art is very good and is an eye-candy to the viewer , the animation is absolutely bad , this is one of the laziest shows in the terms of animation I have ever seen , the blood split is PG-3 :/ . too much CG too that I was utterly disappointed .
Sound 9/10
The Soundtracks are absolutely masterful and very memorable , this is one of the finer points in the show , but the problem lies in how utterly small the used soundtracks are.
The Voice acting is not that special but not bad at all.
Characters 7/10
Human characters are very meh , Saki is a Melodramatic character that bore the heck out of me at some point , Satoru and the tertiary characters were the characters I really cared about , The homo scenes were unnecessary , a lot of characters were unnecessary to the story , and they got a lot of screentime .
Enjoyement 8/10
It would have been a 7/10 but let me just say that the final episode was what changed my mind to an 8 , maybe because I am stupid , even though I expected the ending I was very glad that that good ending was the one that concluded the story . This show is a rare case of the ending changes everything even though I didn't believe in this case once.
Overall (9 + 8 + 9 + 7 + 8) /5 = 8.2
Ceiling 8.2 is a 9
so Overall it is a 9/10 (Great)

For an Anime that seemingly does everything right, I just can't give lower than a 10, This is a top tier anime by every standard. This is the anime that shows us how a shounen anime should be done!!!
Story 10/10
The Story is amazing, the series de-constructs all the boring and repetitive shounen tropes and change it into something exciting and breath-whelming, Its different , it has variety, Each arc is fresh and it never feels repetitive , No two arcs are the same, It has its share of light arcs, and the pretty dark and gruesome ones, and when it gets dark it gets really
...
dark, no Nakama powers , no resurrection bullshit, the events are always unpredictable and each arc has something new to offer.
Art 10/10
Seriously this has got to be one of the best drawings and animation I have ever seen, and to come from an ongoing series, the characters and backgrounds are drawn well, the art is consistent and some episodes are just above awesome with their drawings and animation, let's just say that a series like that is worth watching in HD more than SD , The animation is pretty smooth when it need it too.
Sound 10/10
The voice acting is amazing, the voices are powerful and they are consistent with their characters and characteristics, the soundtrack is absolutely amazing and the variety of soundtracks helps them a lot in choosing them in the series, there are sad OSTs , epic ones, the oh shit ones , strategic ones, happy ones, you just find a variety of everything you can think of and they are amazing, I also have to applaud for the two masterpiece OST's Riot and The Last Mission.
Character 10/10
I just have to say that this is by far one of the few anime series that actually develop every character whether it is a villain or a protagonist a companion it is or not, all the characters get developed , we all hear their line of thoughts in this death note style , the characters are not stupid, a lot of mind games are played between characters, and the characters cannot be loved or hated based on who is the strongest , but in fact they are loved for what they are and what they do. Characters develop emotionally and experience wise which is a big plus to this anime
Enjoyment 10/10
the first two episodes were not that enjoyable but when it started in episode 3 I watched a real adventure before my eyes, an adventure where you feel its dangers and you understand its risks and it's unpredictability , It's cruelty too, I just can't say more than that.
Overall 10 + 10 + 10 + 10 + 10 / 5 = 10
so it is 10/10 (Masterpiece)

Just when I thought there couldn't exist something better than Monster, I was surprised by how far superior Naoki Urasawa's 20th Century Boys is. Sadly no anime adaptation exists for this manga yet. And I could only hope that in the current era where old works are being revived , this may get an anime adaptation soon.
The Plot : 10/10
Just Perfect ! Multi-layered stories with a switch back and forth through timelines without ever feeling out of place , This is a story that is perfectly executed with lots of suspense and intense to the fullest. The childish cover may dismiss a lot of people
...
from reading it , but the content is very very mature. I have never seen such a perfectly executed story in a manga before, I am still quite surprised that this is a manga not a story in 3-part book for example, also another thing that I adored is the variety this manga offered , which I think is the key to success to any long running manga. It is true that the last third is a little weaker than the the first two thirds , but let me say that these first two thirds are just way out of league .
The Characters 10/10:
Loads of characters have been introduced and all of them made an impact in this manga, also about 95% of these characters have been fleshed out fully. It's very easy to relate to them and their characters. and I liked them all . Kenji , Kanna , Yoshitsune , Otcho , Fukubei , Mon-chan , Yukiji , Kami , Manjoume, Donkey , Keroyon . just a few off my mind right now but I didn't really hate any characters. I also liked how he introduced a lot of characters and he made it work and gave them their own personalities with their own way of thinking.
The Art 9/10
Naoki Urasawa's distinctive art strikes again , which is very useful in drawing the facial expressions and unlike with Monster this time character designs do not look recycled at all. And there is a big improvement in the art style in this manga over Monster.
Also check out the Reception this manga got.
Reception :
20th Century Boys has 36 million tankōbon copies in circulation, was the third top-selling manga series of 2008, and the ninth top-selling of 2009. The series has also won numerous awards, including the 2001 Kodansha Manga Award in the General category, an Excellence Prize at the 2002 Japan Media Arts Festival, the 2003 Shogakukan Manga Award in the General category, and the first ever Angoulême International Comics Festival Prize for a Series in 2004. It also won the Grand Prize at the 37th Japan Cartoonists Association Awards, and the Seiun Award in the Comic category at the 46th Japan Science Fiction Convention, both in 2008. The series won the 2011 Eisner Award for Best U.S. Edition of International Material in the Asia category for Viz Media's English releases, and won the same award again in 2013. It was nominated twice, 2010 and 2013, for the Harvey Award in the Best American Edition of Foreign Material category, and three years in a row, 2010-2012, for the Eisner Award for Best Continuing Series.
Manga critic Jason Thompson called 20th Century Boys "an epic saga of nostalgia, middle age, rock n' roll, and a struggle against an evil conspiracy." He compared the story to several novels by Stephen King, such as It, where "a group of childhood friends who reunite as adults to deal with leftover issues from their childhood manifested in monstrous form." Thompson wrote that despite being a seinen manga aimed at an older audience, the series gained fans of all ages for its great premise, storytelling and the mystery behind Friend.
Carlo Santos of Anime News Network felt the pacing of the series should have been quicker, but praised the intricate and interconnecting plot and its twists, as well as the well-developed characters. He also noted Urasawa's art and dialogue, saying "it takes real skill to build a story as multi-layered as this one and still have it make sense as the characters explain things".
Overall 9.7 /10
Ceiling 9.7 is 10
So it is a 10/10(Masterpiece)

This review will cover up all the 26 episodes from the TV series + the movie sequel End of Evangelion , because the movie itself is needed to explain a lot of stuff that you won't get by the end of the last two episodes + a real ending to the series.
Story 9/10
Now the real deal in this show is its story , while it begins with the angel of the week formula which is done nicely but not good enough to invest you to the show at first , but as it gets to its complex side of the story , you will realise
...
that it is nothing generic as its first 13 episodes suggest, but this is the point where people do decide if this show is genius or is it bad? , I would have to say genius , one of the problems of the story is that it always half feeds the watchers , which makes us not knowing of what is happening next and we have to rely on our own assumption , luckily the movie feeds the other half , and given they had a bigger budget than what they had to start this series would have given it way greater potential. but at least I can say that the story is its strongest points.
Art 7/10
Well the series suffers from its unappealing art , and while the art is OK, it does not give an appeal to the series , of course I do understand the problem with the tight budget but it is fair to include this point , the art in the movie was amazing and superb.
Sounds 7/10
The voices are great , the opening and ending too , I just had one question in my mind , Is there really any BGM's running in the background , I do not remember listening to any BGM. and this is funny considering that I found OSTs released. Yet most of the show had no music just dialogue. In the movie there were a handful ones but I can't remember them clearly.
Characters 9/10
If I stopped at the first 13 episodes the characters side would have got a 6 or a 7 , the next 13 episodes showed that this was just the beginning and it got an 8 from my personal view and the movie makes it a 9 , because the characters are generic at first glance, because as I heard they created the generic term. Rei Ayanami's character has been copied so much to death that when I saw it at first glance I was bound to reject the character. and so is Shinji's character , but you do realise how genuine their character is unlike the shows that copied it. and the show is strong at character development, and it is the core in which how the show progresses within.
Enjoyment 9/10
I did enjoy the show at most times , its misses weren't that much , but it could have had a better start and more importantly if they used background music to all its defining moments the show could have been way better. With that said , The story and the characters are amazing and this definitely needs a remake with the same story in my opinion.
Overall (9 + 7 + 7 + 9 + 9)/5 = 8.2
Ceiling 8.2 is 9
so it is a 9/10 (Excellent)
Note : This is by far the only mecha series that I have gotten along with and enjoyed everything including the mecha battles

I will start this review while saying that I haven't read the manga , and this is just my impression from the first season of magi which I have yet to watch its second season. Which I constantly heard that it was adapted badly with missing chapters but after all I am just giving my impression about the anime itself.
Story 8/10
OK in short , the Dungeon stuff is really good , this series needs more dungeon exploring , I like how creative it could get , and the whole fight through the dungeon to get treasure and Djinn power , The conflict concerning Kou empire
...
and other cities such as Balbadd and Sindria is totally good , however it failed twice to give me hype concerning the real main fights which I am really concerned of , the reason of that is how the character development goes, and a story which runs at a global scale is affected by someone's development which was pretty generic. The Mysterious organization failed to give me any hype because I am only seeing people overcome their odds with things I have heard time and time again , I may be a little harsh though.
Art 8/10
OK during the first 10 episodes where the story was golden , it wasn't the same animation wise , a lot of lazy drawings were noticed during its first run , in the last 15 episodes the art became a lot better , and was an eye candy to me.
Sound 7/10
The Openings are pretty good , and the Voice actors are good , the Soundtracks in this season are dull.
Character 7/10
Morgiana is decent , Aladdin is great , Alibaba is too cliché that his development isn't investing me in it. But characters Like Sinbad are amazing enough to invest me into him, Judal's character too , It is more of a mixed bag to me.
Enjoyment 8/10
OK in short I enjoyed episodes 1-10 at the fullest , 11-14 were slow but had a lot of hype which ended up being for nothing , the show picks up again when it goes for the second dungeon and invests me again into it.
Overall (8 + 8 + 7 + 7 + 8)/5 = 7.6
Ceiling 7.6 is 8
so it is an 8/10 (Very Good)

Ookami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki (A.K.A Wolf Children) is a masterpiece movie that while I am not a fan of the slice of life genre (This is the first time I watch a slice of life anime) , I was so touched by this piece of work.
*This review is not spoilerish*
Story 10/10
The Story is heart-warming, It is a mixture of fantasy and a slice of life , yet the fantasy side felt like a plus to the story not a minus , the events that the story goes through does not feel forced or stupid , the story feels so lively and the
...
interactions feel real , and with it you find yourself riding an emotional roller-coaster. Also the movie conveys a message. the social and environmental problems are portrayed successfully. I can't go on to describe how beautiful the story is without spoiling the events as I am not a very good person at noting what each slice of life anime should need. But whatever you are looking for is there.
Art 9/10
The Backgrounds are outstandingly beautiful , and so is how the character art was designed to look , but they are having a bit of contrast that they don't really fit perfectly with each other. but rather than that I absolutely love the art.
Sound 10/10
I was touched ! The voice acting, the emotions portrayed and the really outstanding music are perfect ,The Sounds are bone chilling ,not out of excitement , but out of beauty, It touched my heart with loads of feels.
Character 10/10
This will be short but you will come to love every character in this show, you will end up caring for everyone , you will feel their tears and troubles , you will be delighted when you see them happy, and you will be sad when you see them troubled. When some characters can only be there for 10 minutes and and yet you care deeply for them.
Enjoyment 10/10
I cried the whole movie , now don't get me wrong the anime is not sadistic , I did not cry because of sadness or joy , I cried because of the beauty this movie holds. Because everything in this movie is in harmony whether it is the story , the art , the music , the characters , Everything was nailed perfectly.
Overall 10 + 9 + 10 + 10 + 10 / 5 = 9.8
Ceiling 9.8 will be a 10
so its a 10/10 (Masterpiece)

This will be a review of Baccano! + its specials because they don't feel that much apart , the review will be seen as what I see in the anime as pros and cons from my own point of view.
Story 10/10
Unconventional writing of a story , first time I got impressed by a 13 episodic series , This series does not seem rushed , the deconstruction of the storytelling method appealed to me that much, the only con that you can face is that you may feel that you may miss some stuff because tying all events happening feels impossible , the story is shown
...
from several perspectives , with each one with his own goal and may be related or not to other characters in the show , yet the nice part is when the paths intertwine with each other as things that seem as unexplainable events are explained later from the other people's perspectives, and that's the best of the show , the show keeps the story interesting by having short events then changing to another character perspective while providing you with a cliffhanger , I also recommend watching the specials because they are basically what I could say filling of some gaps left after watching the show. I also applaud the series for the creativity in the method of writing.
Art 7/10
The Art sometimes looks like a candy eye to the viewer and sometimes it looks as a product of laziness from the artists, the gore scenes though are handled really well , the animation sometimes gets fluid but other times there are some choppy scenes. I was not impressed with the art.
Sound 10/10
The Opening , The Ending , The Music , The Voices , Everything in it is just perfect , A plus for the dub version is for using Slang terms that fit within character but I overall prefer the subs because it is livelier and gives a better attachment to the characters. the music perfectly fits within the show.
Characters 9/10
A series with such an unconventional storytelling must have an unconventional way for introducing the characters , and that is the next best thing in this series , with an equal love to each character , you don't get to follow one character but many, you get to experience every character's experience from their own perspective. I couldn't root for any character to be honest, the downsides is that I felt that the characters didn't get enough development and a feeling of emptiness that you want to see more but that is not a con , the only con I see is its hard to keep track of who the characters are. you will find yourself forgetting the characters names a lot and even though the opening helps you remember them , you feel like needing to memorize them.
Enjoyment 10/10
Well , It was hell of a ride *Literally* , even when I didn't like the art I didn't seem bothered by it , Especially with a cliffhanger at every turn , I doubt it won't be enjoyable by anyone.
Overall (10 + 7 + 10 + 9 + 10) /5 = 9.2
Ceiling 9.2 = 10
so its a 10/10 (Masterpiece)

This thing a series that started mediocre just to end up being fantastically better than most shows out there!!!!
Without Spoilers I will be talking about JoJo's Bizarre Adventure(2012) adaptation which covers Parts Phantom Blood and Battle Tendency from the original manga.
Story 8/10
This Series is a series that never takes itself seriously its over the top ,its too ridiculous it is full of plot holes its the characters are freaking melodramatic but that is what makes it so good. Seriously I enjoyed the hell out of myself during part 2 but the same cannot be said in part 1 till the its last episodes.
The Series feature
...
a lot of cliche troupes with a series so expected but using unexpected events even if it is over the top , The use of speed chess gambit in the series was pretty good considering its time (It's pretty pretty old btw)!! even if things don't make sense ,Nice Factions appear It's really strong point is the variety of its fights. with every fight being completely different from before and memorable *Again not the phantom blood part*, So in short this series is too strong in part 2 but pretty weak in part 1 that I almost dropped it. I also like how it doesn't drag on the fights like most shounen do , and the danger feels real.
Art 9/10
I used to hate the art style at first but then you get used to those Bulky art style and its pretty good in the series though, the fights are well executed and I absolutely loved the art later on the animation is quite good, I can't believe this is low budget animation.
Sound 8/10
The Soundtracks in the first part were bland and not memorable, the Second part however was EPIC!!!, especially the pillar men's theme and the lots of DubStep soundtracks used in part 2. The Voice acting is ridiculous but its exactly what the series need, the series is not serious and so should the Voice acting be.
Character 8/10
Well again the same problem happens many characters that I used to hate got redeemed in part 2, in part 1 the main character is not cool , but that is changed for the better in part 2, the villains are wonderful and even the allies are , I also like how they don't ditch most characters just for the main character to do his job.
Enjoyment 8/10
Excluding part 1 that is a must watch that I nearly dropped the series because of it, The Enjoyment of part 2 was a 10/10 experience and I am now Thrilled with more Jojo that I am already watching Part 3 Stardust Crusaders by now. Now I can understand why the series is so hyped for
Note: Part 1 is 9 episodes long only and it episode 3 and 4 is why it was bad.
Overall (8 + 9 + 8 + 8 + 8) /5 = 8.2
Ceiling 8.2 gives a 9.
so its a 9/10 (Great)

*This is a review concerning the first season of Kaiji ,This review only reflects my personal opinion*
Kaiji Ultimate Survivor is an anime that is about games with repercussions , It succeeded in many aspects Yu-gi-oh : The Shadow Games (A.K.A Yu-gi-oh Season 0) did not , while also failing on other aspects in which Yu-gi-oh succeeded.
Story 7/10
The Story is mostly about corruption , corruption of the mind , corruption of businessmen , corruption of the human desires , the setting is where Businessmen control the world via money, in other words were money is power. the realistic theme of course of this series was great
...
, the problem was that the story made little impact on how things go, and seemed to be forced just to create the games , The setting did not affect how the game flows and was just made to give a background story in which the games can progress , in short , the anime could easily be divided into 4 games , The first game was deeply thought of and was perfectly executed , the second game was just to show psychological nature of humans which was completely unnecessary *Nothing is added and the game didn't really have any thinking abilities*, The third game is completely unoriginal *An alternate state of the 1st game* but it was enjoyable till the writer took an unbelievable route. and the 4th game was too simple but it had a lot of intensity. All in all , it suffers from variety, But its main strength is in how psychological aspects in this series are easily explored with your own mind giving you a chance to get the idea before the main character does which is really enjoyable with the exception of the second game which has nothing of that.
Art 7/10
Now this is the first time where I can say its not Madhouse's fault as Madhouse did its best to make it look as good as possible, The animation is pretty good and the studio made it look as best as it can , the fault here lies on the mangaka for the bad art style which is perfectly uncomfortable and I don't even know why did he choose such a bad art style. Madhouse made it look as best as possible.
Sound 9/10
Not giving opinions on the (Chaba Chaba Chaba) fx thing , The Music is nice and blends with the scenes perfectly , The characters voices are nice and they fit their characters
Character 8/10
The Characters are admirable in most cases , One of the good parts that Kaiji emphasizes on is how it allows the exploration of each character's agenda which makes things interesting and makes the mind games played enjoyable , the bad parts in the characters is how anything outside the realm of the games makes any sense , for example *A kills B , C wants to avenge B , so C challenges A to a game* and there was one lunatic unbelievable point that was out of character completely. rather than that the mind games and the agendas make up for it.
Enjoyment 8/10
In the Enjoyment level I Enjoyed it pretty much , the use of Xanatos Gambit (Agenda exploring) in the games instead of Deus ex machina (Asspulls) makes the series much interesting , It maintains unpredictability in some times which was good and gave intensity as I watched it , One thing I didn't like in this series is when it came to using metaphors , a one and two could be enough , but you don't have to use up to 3 or 4 metaphors to explain one psychological state. It was used to kill time and to be honest it wasn't a good idea to excessively use them , Even though I stated a lot of flaws , The anime is really enjoyable and the good makes up a lot for the bad.
Overall (7 + 7 + 9 + 8 + 8)/5 = 7.8
Ceiling 7.8 is 8
So it is an 8/10 (Very Good)

*Once upon a time, in a land far away, there lived a nameless monster.*
Naoki Urasawa's Monster is a Masterpiece by every standard. It's One of the shows that you can feel that you got brainwashed when you watch it.
Story 10/10
This is the best plot I have ever seen, It's realistic and manages to be thrilling without the usage of plot devices and super powers, one of the things that I applaud the story for is its realistic nature. It's deep , it has a message, and knows how to thrill,It also reflects the bad nature of politicians and corruption, it also shows the after-effects of their
...
actions, Note : You may have to look up for different references on some important historical events that have happened to fully digest the plot. *Also there will be many times where you will feel like you are passing your way through a labyrinth to understand the story*
Art 8/10
The Art is not top notch , but it is pretty good the reason I gave it an 8/10 was because there are some characters that look like characters you have seen before which makes things a little bit confusing in the beginning.Especially that Monster relies on a lot characters instead of giving one character the center of attention.
Sound 10/10
The Voices are well done, The Music is one of the most emotionally scores I have ever heard, so kudos Madhouse for these wonderful pieces of soundtracks.
Character 9/10
I would have given the Characters a 10/10 but there were many characters that were introduced and they didn't do any purpose in the storyline so I give it a 9/10.
Enjoyment 9/10
I enjoyed Monster as an Irreplaceable experience that I have yet to experience better, the drawbacks to this adaptation is that it takes multiple episode build-ups to finally get to the main event you have been waiting for , rather than that I have enjoyed it a lot
Overall 10 + 8 + 10+ 9 + 8 / 5 = 9.2
Ceiling that gives us a 10
so its a 10/10 (Masterpiece)
