When I read the synopsis of Kare Kano, I wasn't expecting much, if anything at all, from it: Anno was the director, so I wanted to see it. What I got was a lovely story that, unfortunately, wasn't allowed to reach its full potential due to outside interference.
Kare Kano is a story about two teenagers who are living a fake life, and how they lean on each other to, gradually, start showing more of their true selves. Arima and Yukino are a lovely couple, their interactions are always a delight to watch (I'd say there aren't enough), and the evolution of their relationship is done
...
in a respectful and interesting way. We also get to know many different and enjoyable characters, making this show in particular a joy to watch.
However, the use (and abuse) of recaps is the worst part of this show: it semmed that we got a recap of the story each different episode. All these recaps lead to a lack of time, and we are left with a downright terrible ending.
The OST, done by Shiro Sagusi, is great as expected, and the voice acting is also good, though sometimes annoying.
If you are a fan of the journey (and like some romance), Kare Kano is the show for you

Once again, Tatsuki Fujimoto shows why he is one of manga's most promising mangakas. Chainsaw Man is a joy to read, with beautiful art, and a good enough story, that will make you want to keep reading chapter after chapter.
We follow the story of Denji, a boy who has to carry the burden of his dead father's debts to the Yakuza. To pay them, he became a Devil Hunter, and has is own pet devil, Pochita. After being betrayed by the Yakuza, Pochita becomes Denji's heart, giving birth to Chainsaw Man.
After this, Denji joins a group of Devil Hunters, and we get a lot of
...
fun, heartwarming, disgusting and even sexual scenes among his new group of friends. There are some great characters in this group, like Power and Aki, however the most interesting is Makima: every scene she's in is a big deal, be it plot-wise or about her relationship with Denji. Also, the suspense leading up to chapter 82 is amazingly done.
The only thing I don't like is how rushed the ending is: we have the big climax, and one chapter later, it's over. To me, there needed to be something more.
In conclusion, if you are looking for an amazing story, CSM is not your manga; however, if you are looking to have fun, and watch some great fights, Chainsaw Man is exactly what you want

In my review of Wonder Egg Priority, I expressed my doubts about the show's direction after episode 8: a radical shift, with a bunch of new and interesting concepts that never got explained, because the show was about to end. I hoped this special could answer the questions I, and the fandom, had. And boy, oh boy, this special did not do that.
Let's start with the positives: we found out how Koito died.
Now the negatives:
We were promised a one hour special. However, the episode was 46 minutes long, of which 25 MINUTES AND 30 SECONDS were a recap. That's an absolute
...
disgrace;
The questions we had about what happened to Frill, what were Hyphen and Dot, how was Ai going to fight as a Warrior of Eros, what even is a Warrior of Eros, how did Rika and Momoe came to terms with what happened inside the egg world, the parallel worlds, all of these questions are all left unanswered, and some of them aren't even brought up the entire episode;
The remaining 20 minutes were very subpar, even by WEP standards: a nonsensical story, that introduces more ideas that are, obviously, never explained, ending in an absurd ending, that makes no sense since, in theory, this special should be the end of the story. However, we are left with an open ending that, once again, leaves us with more questions than answers;
And last but not least, the animation was so poor, I couldn't help but feel distracted by it: the amount of zooming in and people running in place were way too much.
As much as it pains me to say, WEP was an absolute flop. I do not recommend you to watch this special at all.

Wonder Egg Priority is a tale of two halves: before and after episode 8, the recap episode. (I could go on and on about how putting a recap episode in a 12-episode show is idiotic, but that's not the point.)
Before episode 8, we have a show whose focus is the life of the girls: their fears, their family life, their backstory, their hopes, and so on. It's a show about normal people, with a sprinkle of sci-fi, allowing us to connect to the characters, while giving us something out of the ordinary to look forward to.
This part of Wonder Egg is pretty good, a light-hearted
...
story of friendship and camaraderie, introducing different characters and themes to the story, without going overboard with it, and keeping it simple, with the suspense surrounding Mr.Sawaki being the best part of the story, leaving the audience on it's toes every time he appeared on screen.
And now, we have the after: it felt like I was watching a different show. All of sudden, sci.fi took over, and the down to earth story became... I don't really understand what it was. An AI experiment gone bad? Some mad scientist stuff? If we wanted an explanation, we wouldn't have gotten it, because the show was about to finish.
This stretch of episodes was both the best and worst part, giving us episodes like 10 and 11, but introducing new elements to the story in a frenetic pace, without giving the viewer the time to process what was going on, and leaving many questions unanswered.
The voice acting and animation were very good, especially the latter, but it lacked a memorable soundtrack outside of the OP and ED, both highly enjoyable .
Overall, however, I liked it, and if you haven't seen it, you should give it a try. But if I were you, I'd wait for the OVA to be released.

Angel Beats! has to be one of the most interesting, fun, suspenseful and frustrating shows I've ever seen in anime.
What seems to be, at first, a generic concept, ends up being a story about coming to terms with your past, and feeling at peace with oneself.
There are only two major flaws in this show: first, the comedy is dowriight awful, falling flat most of the time, and ruining moments that could be used for anything useful; second, and it hurts to type, it's just too short. 13 episodes isn't enough for a show with so many interesting characters and plotlines, which makes me wonder why
...
was there filler in episodes.
However, the positives far outweigh the negatives: the soundtrack is great, wirh many memorable and enjoyable songs, and the animation is beautiful.
The characters are also a strong suit, especially the MC, Otonashi: early on, I empathised with him, because he was made to be, to put it simply, a great guy: nice, thoughtful and caring. Also Yurippe, the leader of the Battlefront, is a very enjoyable character.
But the best part of Angel Beats! is it's story: every time the episode ended, I wanted to see the next right away. In the midst of all the comedy and shenanigans, there is an interesting and suspenseful story being told, that culminates in one of the most memorable endings in Anime.
Overall, I loved this show. I had a blast watching it, the story, characters, sooundtrack, you name it, were great. Highly recommend.
I just wish there had been more episodes...

20th Century Boys, basically, is a story of the dreams and hopes of a group of friends going very, very wrong.
The short number of pages per chapter allow the reader to devour a chunk of them everytime you read it, and the great story helps too: the plot is well laid out, the suspense is beautifully done, the world building is wonderfully done and extremely detailed, and the characters are great, especially Kenji: is struggle to fight the future he created is touching, and you can't help but root for his success. The art, of course, is top notch, as expected from Naoki Urasawa.
My
...
main criticism of 20thCB is the amount of loose ends that never get addressed, and characters that vanish out of thin air.
The ending, while great, felt rushed, some chapters feeling like filler and there were a few unneeded clichés.
Overall, 20th Century Boys is a compelling manga, that I recomend every fan to give a shot.

Warning: if you intend on playing the VN, you will find spoilers
If all the S;G mangas were this good.
When I first heard of the existance of this manga, I had some mixed feelings about it.
At the time, I was reading the Steins;Gate manga, and the art was so bad, at times I couldn't focus on the story. My fear was that Braunian Motion of Love and Hate would suffer form the same problem.
On the other hand, although the main character of this manga is none other than Tennouji Yugo, a.k.a Mr.Braun, the story of Amane Suzuha's life after she travelled back to 1975, and her
...
influence on the events of that summer of 2010, was imperative to read.
And the first volume confirmed my fears, when I couldn't help but feel like Tennouji had Kurisu's hair for the entire chapter, distracting me from the story that was being told (chapter 2, page 11 being the biggest culprit).
However, the story is quite interesting, and offers us a diffent perspective on Tennouji. From how long he had been looking for the IBN 5100, to his relationship with Suzuha.
Despite my initial uneasiness, the first volume is quite enjoyable, keeping a balance between serious and more light hearted moments (which were a given, since this is Suzuha we are talking about)
However, volume two is a different story. The art is absolutely incredible, with a major improvement in Tennouji's face and hair, and the resemblance to former football player Emmanuel Petit is uncanny. Look no further than the first chapter to confirm it. Kudos to the artist.
The story keeps being as engaging and interesting up until the very end, which speaks volumes about the quality of this manga, since the reader knows how this story is going to end.
In conclusion, Braunian Motion of Love and Hate achieves it's purpose: gives the fans another chance to see the always fun Amane Suzuha; gives Mr.Braun a great backstory, that I'm sure would change some people's opinion of him; and gives us more Steins;Gate, which is always a good thing.
(English is my second language, so sorry in advance for grammatical mistakes or weird sentences.)
