Both stories revolves around the concept that its the journey, not the destination that matters the most. In both series we meet and fall in love with a unique and complex cast, that grows as the story progresses. Revealing the truth about the past is a big plot-point in both series. FMA:B focused more on the adventure aspect with political conflicts, while Pandora Hearts is more of a mystery with lots of plot twists and has a overall darker setting. Neither is afraid of killing off characters that have been built up thoroughly. The anime for PH did not finish off the story and barely scratched on the good parts, therefore the manga is the way to go. As a sidenote the authors have been following eachothers works and even made a crossover drawing.

Both series show the progression of the characters during many years and how their dreams change. In both series art is a big part (manga in Bakuman. and sculptures/painting in Honey and Clover) as well as romance.
