School Days is unironically an incredibly good anime. Viewers may miss it, but it must be kept in mind this anime is about abuse. It is an incredibly realistic psychological anime about romantic abuse. It is certainly an anime to experience. Everything about this anime is psychological, suspenseful, and perfectly shows that no matter how good a person seems to others, they may be absolutely despicable with romance.
Featured themes include gaslighting, before it became a popular term, and many other terrible acts. School Days is a very deep show and can certainly be described as a trainwreck. However it is a near perfect and
...
very deep trainwreck that makes one unable to turn away.

This is seriously one of the most underrated anime of all time. I give it a 10/10, from beautiful art to a great and large cast all with personality despite only having 12 episodes, this is truly a hidden gem.
The story is isekai but unusual in that the main character did not die, when he is transported to the new world he is leaving behind people he cares about. Into a world of old technology and magic, he uses his knowledge of modern technology with internet searches to improve the society he lands in and ends up a benevolent dictator. This then leads to
...
various wars with other nations.
The art throughout is truly incredible. By the end of the series I had my jaw drop from how good the scenes were, this is just truly an unexpected underrated anime. There are some parts that I personally didn't like but overall it was a great watch and the final episode is what raised my score to 10/10, it is very special.
I wish to see more series like this in the future, it was truly great.

A dark storyline in a rich world filled with strong women?
If that sounds like something you'd enjoy, just watch this now, it is so good. It starts off interesting but takes a few episodes to really dig into the world and develop, at that point it becomes excellent. This is a journey through a dark fantasy world and deconstruction of the Isekai genre. Shokei Shoujo no Virgin Road, which I would translate more directly as The Executioner Girl's Pure Way of Life, is a journey through one of the richest and most interesting worlds I've seen in a long time. A world still reeling
...
from major disasters that took place around 1000 years ago, called the four human errors. The human errors are some of the most creative and interesting world disasters I have ever seen in a plotline and I hope they will be explored more in the future. The details given in this anime make one want to see more of the world.
The story centers around a priestess who carries a dark burden, a tradition ever since the four human errors, to ensure they never happen again. The characters in this show are fantastic and varied greatly. The main characters are awesome and play off eachother so well, it is super fun to see them interact.
Overall I'd highly recommend this show if like my first line, a dark storyline in a dark fantasy world filled with strong women sounds awesome to you. The only reason I haven't rated it higher is that the ending leaves much more to be desired, I hope one day it'll be fulfilled.

Kaijin Kaihatsu is a good show. It is solid in all respects with above average animation and a fun plot. Overall this is a slice of life seinen comedy with workplace and super hero humor. It seems they included a lot of existing Super Sentai/Power Rangers heroes into the series which I found to be quite endearing. Kaijin Kaihatsu focuses on the villains however, and it does a great job in doing so. To be more precise it focuses on developing all the strange monsters normally featured in Super Sentai type shows. It also includes power ups, giant robots, all the usual Japanese Super Hero
...
stuff. It is a great series to watch and fun to see the villain side and efforts put in to create their "evil" monsters.
The workplace humor is quite great and had many amusing moments. The titular character Kuroitsu is also a great character. There's a lot of modern humor featured as well but with the Japanese anime style comedy. Basically if you like anime style comedy, this show is likely for you. The modern gags I personally believe were well done and achieved creating a fun modern comedy show. There's also little bits of lore here and there for many of the characters. The entire evil company featured in the show was completely filled with great characters too.
Overall this show is very good in general to relax to. It is a modern Super Sentai from the point of view of the evil side, endearing characters all over, and it is a show that is also mostly a comedy anime.

This is a deeply flawed show filled with inconsistencies and plot holes, but you know what? Despite all that, it's still fun. In fact it's one of the few shows that despite the plot holes, the ideas are very fun. There's plenty to enjoy here from animation to characters to a suspenseful plot. The horror elements early on are particularly the best part of the show. Overall the show is like a classic horror movie but more complete and with the greatness of anime. That being said, there are many plot holes and then rules established that the show consistently breaks (in a weak
...
writing sense). The writer clearly has good ideas and tries to explain what is going on but trips up over forgetting what they wrote in earlier parts of the series for rules of what can happen in the world they make. Enjoyment of this show relies on overlooking these flaws and enjoying the random creative ideas. It is still an exciting and fun show to watch overall.

For those who may not have been fans of Overlord's previous seasons, rejoice, for this season makes it all worthwhile. A culmination of everything that been built up so far, and actual plot progression is what this season entails. It is sublime.
Story
While previous seasons were focused on world and character building, this season is focused on plot. Everything that has happened so far feels like it is finally given purpose beyond raw enjoyment of the world and characters. I can confidently say anyone that had this problem with past seasons will enjoy this. It feels like the series is all coming together now.
Characters
The characters
...
seem more charismatic this season, however if one's problem with Overlord's past seasons are about the characters, then this probably won't be a selling point. In short, the characters are mostly the same as ever but better than they've ever been.
Art and sound are excellent as well, this season has been a step up in all regards.
Overlord season 4 has turned me from finding the series boring, into a huge fan. I believe anyone that had a problem with the series being slow and not having enough plot progression will find Overlord now to be worthwhile with this latest installment.

Homunculus is a dark seinen manga that tells a story that has a message. There is a lot of symbolism throughout and it may seem pretentious to some, however I finished this manga many years ago, and, over time, it has become a manga I think about almost every day.
What follows, contains spoilers, but only of the backstory to give perspective:
The story is fantastic. Some of the themes may be difficult to discern at first so I will be clear here my take on it. Homunculus is a story about a man that was ugly and ended up getting plastic surgery to better his life.
...
This theme has been explored many times, but nothing like Homunculus. Homunculus deals with the mental breakdown of everything feeling fake. Nakoshi, the main character, achieved the great riches and the status he wanted, but he was never satisfied. Everything he had, had felt built up on how differently people treated him after he became better looking. It felt like nobody loved or cared about him for what he really is. This brings him eventually to a mental breakdown, and he throws everything away and becomes homeless. This brings us to the start of the manga, with this perspective in mind, the themes are much more clear. The trepanation is used to explore various themes surrounding the other characters and himself, it is also a form of escapism from Nakoshi's own problems. Despite being homeless for instance, he can't bring himself to make a decision of what he truly wants, he lives between his ultra wealthy past and a homeless encampment physically.
I greatly enjoyed symbolism with this and believe the work is by far best enjoyed viewing it as a whole instead of its parts. The themes were excellent and have stuck with me for many years, making this truly one of my favorite manga of all time. The difficulties we deal with in day to day life, would it be worth not being ourselves any more if we could artificially solve them all?
Overall this is a timeless manga. It provides many themes for the reader to think about. I just gave my example of what was most meaningful to me, but there are plenty other themes to discover throughout this brilliant work.

"History is written by the victor"
What does it mean to be good? What does it mean to be evil? Is there an objective way based in humanity to measure what is good and what is evil? Babylon is a psychological thriller set in modern day that centers around a philosophical debate about a very taboo subject.
The story is utterly thrilling to the end, an easy show to marathon and think about. The story is definitely the biggest strength of Babylon, especially in terms of making one think about things, which is always excellent to see. Stories that challenge what we know and our views that
...
can breach taboo and make you wonder are among the most meaningful one can find.
The art is excellent as well but nothing memorable, just fitting for the show, so I would say the art is good but nothing special or spectacular.
The soundtrack was fantastic and mood setting and very unique.
The characterization was excellent as well, everyone was at least somewhat developed and grew throughout the series and most characters were somewhat likable which is unusual for this type of show.
The enjoyment is absolutely outstanding, this show is a thrill ride and keeps you thinking, even after the finale you will be kept thinking or dismiss it as pretentious depending on how you look at things.
Overall I highly recommend Babylon to anyone that is looking for something different or unique and thought provoking in story.

Well it's finally over, Happy Sugar Life was quite a ride. A story of a love the world would never accept, and doing anything to protect that love.
The story was very well done, particularly the unique writing style for character's feelings and actions which leads to the absolute best part of the manga in my personal opinion (though it would still be nothing without the story). I'll get to that next.
The art is nothing short of spectacular, memorable, aesthetic, the greatest manga art I personally have ever seen. The character's emotions and feelings are put on display so perfectly that you can feel a
...
tiny bit of what they feel as the story progresses, it is a powerful thing to do in a story and I attribute it mostly to this unbelievable art. I cannot praise it enough and the art will stick with me for years to come.
The characters were all "interesting." The main couple was the most interesting as one might expect. There isn't much I can say without giving away plot details but the characters were fun all around.
Overall Happy Sugar Life is a ride, that's the best way to describe it, if you're in the mood for a love story filled with drama, I'd highly recommend it. I can say without a doubt it was worth it.

Stranded in one of the worst ways possible, Hajime Nagumo experiences a last spurt of life, a desire to live at all costs. This experience erodes his otherwise somewhat passive personality as he fights for his survival. Arifureta quickly delves into this and delivers itself as a somewhat unique action series. A lot of information early on is done in a "show don't tell" process which may confuse viewers that aren't paying attention but is actually quite simple.
The story is done in a zero to hero format like the title suggests (from commonplace to world's strongest), and it does this in a fun game-like way
...
as the main character struggles to survive in a labyrinth under very harsh circumstances. The main character uses his support type abilities to deal with his circumstances and will attempt to kill anything that gets in his way.
The art is really good for the most part, the monsters are mostly if not all cgi which although not exactly desirable doesnt ruin the experience. All the other art is great and the action scenes are well done.
The voice acting and music are good. I would say the voice acting is somewhat memorable even.
The characters are all fun and the main character himself is an excellent unconventional character. He's somewhat of a softie yet will not hesitate to kill, he doesn't care about the world but cares for those around him that he gets to know and likes the company of, he wouldn't hesitate to fight anyone even a god if they're in his way, he is decisive in romance, and is all around a great main character with an amusing edge. The side characters have weaker characterization but are definitely still fun however mostly only shine with their interactions with the main character.
Overall Arifureta is an excellent survival/hype show with some comedic moments and an unconventional main character.
