If you want an art-house titles that's also bright and happy, I recommend these two series. Eizouken's inventive use of animation reminded me of the spirit of FLCL. In addition, both these series explore the hopefulness of youth in really moving and interesting ways

Jujutsu Kaisen

Jujutsu Kaisen sort of feels like a slightly more grown-up version of Soul Eater. Both have a fun cast of quirky characters and lots of funny dialogue. These series both also manage to incorporate their humor into a story with a lot of more serious action and horror elements, without sacrificing the drama of those more serious elements.

Yuru Camp△
|
Have you ever been reading the parts of Golden Kamuy where the main characters are roughing it in the woods and doing cute camping antics, and thought, I would read a whole manga of just these parts? Boy do I have the series for you! Yuru Camp is about camping and nothing else, and it’s really good at being about camping and nothing else. Both these manga are clearly written by a mangaka who’s done their research about the subject of outdoorsmanship, so you might even pick up some real-life camping tips!

Both these titles stand out to me for their compelling characters. Both series feature a large cast of characters (who manage to be bizarre in a way that feels totally believable) who are just a joy to read. If you're sick of action manga with bland dialogue scenes, give Golden Kamuy a try.

Dr. Stone
|
If you enjoyed Dr. Stone for its combination of dramatic tension, battles which are won out of cleverness, colorful characters, and highly informative coverage of real-world survival skills, then you can find all of those things in Golden Kamuy, albeit in a much more grounded and realistic portrayal of both conflict and of wilderness survival. Essentially, if you liked Dr. Stone but would like to see these concepts presented in a far more adult story, check out Golden Kamuy.

Made in Abyss

Made In Abyss deals with themes of loss, sacrifice, powerlessness, and tragedy in a way that reminded me of Neon Genesis Evangelion. If the emotional narrative of Evangelion speaks to you, you might find something to love in Made In Abyss.
