Asper Kanojo is one of the few manga I'll happily call a masterpiece. I actually forwarded the joy and pain of it to my recipient in Secret Santa 2023 and they enjoyed it too. Secret Santa is probably my favorite MAL event – the joy of cooking up a heartfelt recommendation for a good story just can't be beat! How about you? Which events do you like the most?

I see you like Bokuyaba as well. I recently watched it to satiate a wholesome romance fix and it was very sweet! Character depth is a big factor when it comes to my enjoyment of a story, so I always appreciate when love interests have their own quirks, struggles and traits besides just good looks. I especially liked how the story emphasized the change in Kyōtarō's view (gradually overcoming his prejudice) and emotions upon actually getting to know Anna beyond the surface.

Hmm...well let me know what you think of Basilisk when you watch more of it. That one was under my radar (mostly for the art) since I've seen it around MAL and some manga websites.
I'm surprised that Taishou Otome Otogibanashi got that high of a score, considering it's not some mainstream anime. This might be something I'd watch just based on the score alone (ik the scoring is meh, but I use it when I'm indecisive), but it's something I wouldn't add or watch right away since I have over 100+ anime I need to watch...
I started Nami yo Kiitekure yesterday and I like it so far, based on a couple of episodes. It's definitely eccentric, but I do like unconventional anime like that which challenges viewers on what anime can provide and convey. The only thing that bothers me is the grey circles in their eyes xD (I'll get used to it)
Tbh I didn't expect to know someone else that thought Vinland Saga, Bakemonogatari, and Neon Genesis were unfavorable. I never got into the hype of those shows. I could prob talk a bit more about why I didn't like Vinland Saga and Neon Genesis that much, but I do want to point out that Bakemonogatari is one of those unconventional anime I don't like and is too "inhuman"/abstract/random for me to resonate with it.
Which ones are your general favorites but doesn't fit my preferences?

I was pretty invested in the characters and storyline in Romeo x Juliet; that's how I was able to finish it quickly. Also wanted to complete one of your recs so I can give some feedback. Didn't end up being difficult to accomplish. xD
I am also impressed how you were able to find the anime without using the user recommendations so I commend you for that.
