Initially, i didn't wanted to watch Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san.
Mostly because i've already done the manga and even if i REALLY loved the reading, i didn't thought it was worth doing a redo by watching it.
The format by itself, i wasn't sure. The lack of "action", knowing where and what's going on in the manga... Yeah, i wasn't sure.
I've tried the first episode few months ago, and didn't get caught in it, the animation was not here (for my taste), the voice, laughs, everything was too placid, not like i was imaginating from the manga.
And i've
...
givin' a second chance recently.
Maybe because i was in another mood, or just because i've already tasted a little bit of the anime, my mind was prepared, i don't know. But i've done the whole thing in one shot.
And i was really really enjoyable this time.
It's the same feeling as the manga, even if you can almost anticipating everything, watching them is just.. damn too cute.
And the thing who strike me the most is the fact that there is NOT A SINGLE flashy-forceful visual effect or anything of that even if some action moment.
Everything is soft, tender, sweet.
It can be too much for some people, i can understand that, but damn, watching them, slowly movin' forward is really really heartwarming, and that's what Karakai is about.

Intro :
My way of rating stuff is quite simple :
I'm watching/reading stuff based of what i want to see/read at moment T (theme, genre).
If i'm ending the whole thing and get what i was expecting it's a 8/10.
If i get more/less of that, rating is going up or down by +1/-1.
If i get WAY more/less of that, it's +2/-X depends of how bad it is.
///////////////////////////////////
...
I'm usually very critical and don't care about hurting people or feelings when it tend to give my thoughts about something. Causing me sometimes some issues.
I've tried to found someting to tackle about Made in Abyss and i just can't. I can't find anything except "i want more".
Story : The potentiel given through the anime is here, we get a glimpse of it, and yet so much more to be told, it's dense and we have just scratched the surface of it, just enough for us to get hooked by the story.
Art : Gorgeous, a blast from start to finish, it's colorful, it's brilliant, it's sweet, it's violent, it's everything just as it should be. Transmiting every emotions needed at the right time.
Sound : For the first time since a LONG time, i've heard the soundtrack during the viewing. And by "hearing the soundtrack", i mean "there's more than just an opening" or any other huge track, hidding all of the others (like "You say run" for MHA for exemple). Many tracks are clearly here, you can hear them, you can feel them, and that's really something nowadays. They did a REALLY good job on that part too.
Character : It's a 13 episodes long. With everything compressed into it (storywise/narrative, advancement of the story, yada yada), having a really deep bound with each of the main characters, develop them and make us relate with them is really nice. And yet again, there's so much more to do. I'm thrilled to check the manga and LN right now.
Enjoyment & Overall : A blast, trully. Don't waste more time and enjoy yourself. :)
A must watch.

Ongoing viewing, 9 episodes in so far... Taking a break for writting this. Editing later prolly, but keeping that for now.
It's a total of 12 episodes, i understand the idea of "putting a story and stuff to fill the narrative and giving substance to the story and characters", but why i have the feeling of everything is WAY TOO EASY, flat, bland, tasteless.
Plot device, event, whatever..
Everything is dropped without setup, just for the sake of "having a situation" and used as plot device. It's just there and nobody seems to care or react to it, accepting everything right off the bat "Ok!", "Yes!". Quite
...
unrealistic.
The MC is a "god" into the story, making everything, planning everything, knowing everything, better at everything.. such a hero, yaay!
Every character seems to have their struggle/backstory.
Yet, again, why pushing so much of the "kid/parents" issue... At that point, it's 5 differents parent/kid drama (and prolly 6), just.. Wtf.
I can't perceive any form of "life" out of any of these characters. Their behavior seems pretty unatural and i just can't get into the story. I can't relate to any of them or make any connexion as it is right now.
The delivery is not here, and mixing everything don't give any form of unity to the story.

Started the manga, right after the anime. Here i am after 171 chapters.
To be honest, i didn't expected much.
I'm not a fan of the anime, yet, i've rated 7/10, just because "it bring what we expect to get" when you go for that type of anime.
Basically, when i'm choosing to watch something, i start with a 8/10 at the end if i'm satisfied with it, then depending of what i see and get, i rate it higher, or lower.
"Kaguya" in the anime and from the 12 episodes bothered me a little bit. The setup, the classic "comic", the
...
back and forth between both of them was way too repetitive. And slowly, the story start to evolve a bit, little by little.
But yet, 12 épisodes was too short.
So i was pretty curious to see how, and why people talk that much about "Kaguya". And started to read the manga. That was yesterday. Yes, 171 chapters since yesterday.
And oh god that was good. That was delicious, that was simply perfect.
The pace, the back and forth, the development of almost every character, the arts, the humor almost everytime on point, the feels too.
Even if it's heavily weighted toward humor, it's smooth AF, echoing just perfectly here, refreshing there...
171 chapter in, yet so much to cover in the story/narrative, and even after 171 chapters, i feel like there was not that much of a filler, maybe 10% through the whole story? It's magic how the author distilate everything so far, giving pieces of everything and mixing them together to give us that masterpiece that is "Kaguya".
I'm now sad, because i'm gonna need to wait each week. :)
A must read.

Spoiler below, but before, first impression right after the watching of all episodes.
6/10.
Maybe "Angel Beats!" was a huge hit back then, but in 2019, nope, nothing happened, not a single tear.
Too many genre in one thing, not enough space for everything sadly.
No development, no nothing to relate on each characters.
Visual and music are decent, sadly, they can't support the VA and the scene to generate enough emotions on my side.
During the watching, i took many breaks to do other stuff, just because i wasn't hooked by the story and the narrative, i never was totally IN.
...
Nowadays, there's many other anime/manga/story who approach some of theses themes way better, and deliver way more emotions than "A.B.!".
It's not a waste, you can do it for science and reference, but that's probably not gonna be the best ride of your life.
//////////// SPOILER ////////////
Talking about delivering of emotions and narrative...
How the viewer can relate, when you start the anime with "everyone is dead", ok, so no impact toward that, the only goal is atone ; solving regrets. Pretty simple and basic. Yet, everything goes by flashback, as everyone is dead, not the best way for us to feel anything... Especially some flashback take one episode, or half of it on a 13 episode anime.. Too many characters and not enough time.

2 part review here :
- First 11 episodes (aka the manga adaptation).
- The entire anime (below with spoilers)
Golden Time in two words? Rushed, gutted.
First part :
11 episodes in... Takin' a break to write a rapid review/feedback on it.
Right now, i don't rate the whole thing, and i'm probably not gonna rate it at the end.
...
I'm not gonna rate Art and Sound too, because i'm not judging them as i really don't care for a simple reason as i've come on Golden Time animated version for one thing :
- Getting more of the story compared to the manga (stoped at chap 30 as i can't find more online. Same for the LN)
Sadly, the anime is a really bad joke. The first 11 episodes cover the whole 30 chapters, yes, you read it right.
What does that mean? That mean they cut ~30% of the story out of it.
Most of the time, adaptations take 2 chaps for 1 episode when they stick to the narrative.
And not only fillers, but MANY short scenes and details and interactions between characters (very importantin my opinion).
They even readapted some scenes in order to make them shorter and/or easier/faster to draw and deliver.
Each of theses removed scenes give each time so much weight on some characters, deepers connexions and relations between them, that's a real shame. And loosing them cut so much of the impact and for us, so much of our capacity to relate to them.
Right now, i can't understand how people rate it so high except for one reason : they didn't saw the manga or the LN.
As it is right now, it's an insult toward the initial material.
Do you a favor, watch the 11 first episodes, take the manga on a side, and check every scene deleted or rearranged... and see how much you loose on the narrative.
Right now, i'm REALLY scared to pursue the anime, because i'm pretty sure i'm gonna be scammed on the story and missing so much.
The story and the char development of Golden Time was for me a VERY strong point, who's got me hooked, and after that, i'm not sure if it's worth watching anymore.
////////////////////////// 2nd part with SPOILERS //////////////////////////
2nd part : [SPOILERS]
Anime completed.
I'm really divided right now.
The art/animation didn't transmit enough of the emotions when it's needed, the music too.
It was a nice ride, yet i'm still thinking the whole story lost so much in is way, i keep thinking "if only we had more of theses moments showed in the manga in the second part of the anime, how "Golden Time" could have been..?
I had some feels, some chills but not a single tears, even during some huge moment.
When i've launch the last episode, i was "it's gonna be short to wrap everything up", and it was. The buildup is almost there, yet it's broken by some flashback of a memory-ghost not seen during X episodes.
It was presented early in the anime (not present in the manga...) in order to compensate the missing stuff of the manga as a plot device.. and out of nowhere he's back, yeaaah, but not, really, no.
Banri running to get Kouko was the huge moment for me on the last episode. Yet, their reunion didn't make me feel anything. Banri don't tell her any "i love you too" of any form don't return her "i love you" too, not even at the end.
Linda (VERY STRONG builded character) is totally out of the picture at the end, she don't have any closure.
This anime could have been WAY BETTER if only they decided to remove some "fun/light" moment of the story, to put more emphasis on some characters, show them struggling, getting hurts way more and such.
The whole story is about that, that's a miss right here in my opinion.
6 is my rating on "Golden Time", because it's worth watching, yet it could have been so much better if only it was not gutted like it was.
