Mindgame, I can say, has nothing to do with its name. You can sit back and relax while watching this. It doesn't make you struggle to understand, or it does not make you stop and watch like crazy as in the -monogatari series and call it art. When you watch this, you will understand that this piece was made without being worried about appreciation. There is no struggling to be sophisticated either.
The story, as I said, flows with no restrictions. It suddenly takes you in, you feel like you are one of them, you do not find anything odd in this strange plot.
The art is
...
excellent with the sound, character development is great, and I guarantee that you will enjoy this if you do not have any prejudices towards it.
I loved the god symbolism, pretty good.
Finally, it is quite amazing to witness how this anime describes life to you with tons of little views, tons of them. I don't want to give detail but you'll see, and understand.
9/10.

I've got my hands on this series because of the eye-patched girl. I think I got the wrong anime, or maybe the cute, eye-patched girl from that popular gif is the Misaki in the OVA, I didn't watch it yet.
I will write a really short review.
I think the intended horror-elements were almost not effective at all. They couldn't even establish the tension properly. I am not saying this because I am the "oo I'm not scared at all" guy, but I am really sensitive to horror elements -Actually, seeing tens of pages full of people who are talking about how horrified they were when watching,
...
I doubted myself-.
The whole mistery is established over the storyline, there is no mistery in the action-horror side what-so-ever.
Animation and the art is decent, but not particularly good; sound is the same too.
Character development was very good for one or two characters, the rest was just full of side-characters without any detailed character development at all.
But despite these, I didn't get bored even though I've maratoned it in one day. Overall, I would call it a good anime; I don't remember calling an anime actually bad, though, keep that in mind too.
As I said, it was decent, especially after seeing something heavy as Gits I feel refreshed somehow.

I loved the animation and music, I want to start by stating that.
We do not see much quality anime in psychology/philosophy kind. Ghost in the Shell movies are a very successful, but a little overrated example. I think most of the quotes, those which seem to be eccentric and meaningful, were not very appropriate for or synchronized with the story. It is not an easy thing to use those quotes effectively, I know, but if you're going to use tens of heavy and important quotes, you should do it right. Again, many of the quotes looked like they were added by some editor after the
...
movie was done, they don't look or sound like they belong to those conversations. I know many of you may think: "It is because you don't understand the meaning of them!" but I must disagree.
As I said, music was outstanding, it deserves a 10/10 easily. The artwork and animation is so, too.
There was not much, actually almost none, character development in this sequence movie.
Story was good, but I expected a wider story instead of this specific case. However, as I said, it was well.
"But", I think the story was not very well integrated to the anime. Overall, something is missing, that is what I feel. It feels like something is undone about this anime, and I am sure that it is not because I do not understand the content; even though they say "No one can ever know to understand".
In total, I give it a 8 out of 10. Despite all my negative critics above, Ghost in the Shell series as a whole with the idea behind it, deserves it.
