"that was uncomfortable to watch, in fact, it was frustrating" As a story skipper all of the contents they presented to me was new content to me so that means i went in with zero expectations and knowledge about the how the plot was gonna be.
the things i mentioned about this being such a frustrating and uncomfortable show to watch was not the animations, in fact, the animations was good. the pacing of the plot, the voice acting every technical things they did were also fine.
what made this such an uncomfortable show was the fact that we have to watch the entire plot in
...
the perspective of children. i knew for a fact that amiya is only a kid, misha and skullshiretta (as the Japanese VA said lol) were also a kid. of course they would be prone to mistakes and naive choices nontheless that doesn't mean that evey mistakes and choice they made was still enjoyable to watch. it actually frustrate me when they made such mistakes that when you view them from outsider pov all of them would look so silly.
especially the relationship between the three i mentioned, that was so stupid that if they were perhaps a bit more mature. all of that conflict could have been avoided or even if it's inevitable. at least the reason they have such conflict won't be as stupid as what was shown. tbh i could not bear to watch their stupidity.
and the adults being a passive watcher or whatever you call it doesn't really help either. they only step in when things are done or way too late.
conclusion, i don't know wether they faitfully adapt the game plot or not as i am a storry skipper but all i can say is as a set up for future content (which they announce immediately at the end) this was decent. albeit frustrating to watch because all the kids are being a brats, naive and stupid brats. all living in a dream la la land with their ideals.
