NOTE: TL;DR for a quick summary at bottom | I keep my reviews SHORT
I give Kimi no Na Wa a 9.8/10 (10)
(May contain spoilers) WOW! Shinkai Makoto does it again. First it was with '5cm per second', then with 'Garden of words' and now 'Kimi no Na Wa. This is an absolute masterpiece. The whole feeling of this anime immerses you into an extraordinary scenes of wishes as dramatic feelings.
Story:
The story follows 2 high school students. Taki and Mitsuha. Taki is from Tokyo, who is aspiring to be an architect whilst also working at an italian restaurant. Mitsuha is from the countryside in an
...
small town with great tradition and culture. Mitsuha is fed up of her life in the country side so she wants to move to Tokyo as soon as she graduates. They both start swapping day-to-day lives when a comet is sighted in Japan. In order to help each other out, they leave memos and drawings on each other so the other person understands when they make up from each other bodies. This comet changes the lives of each other when Taki finds out that the Mitsuha he knew existed 3 years ago. Desperately in search for her, Taki would do anything to be re-united with her.
The story is very beautiful and emotional. Its a journey of where love wants them to be together but fate can't. I have to admit, this is one of the most unique and metaphorical stories i've seen.
Art:
Art is mind-blowing as always. You'd expect that from a Shinkai movie. The art was so immersive and good-looking that I don't think I've ever seen an anime as good as this since 'Garden of words' which was of course, another Shinkai movie. Everything looked beautiful, from the shadow reflections, to the depth of field that was shown in this movie.
Sound:
This is not your ordinary, piano-slash-violin melodic tune that you'd expect from previous Shinkai movies. It's more J-Rock than classical. Although, I'm not a huge J-Rock fan, I really didn't mind it. In fact, I enjoyed the music that was played throughout this movie. The OST was very well-done and beautiful.
Character:
There isn't really a lot of cast but the story develops on 2 main characters. We share their feelings and dreams as they both try to help each other out in daily life and then eventually try to meet up with each other. But then again, 2 characters from different backgrounds, different timelines made this movie really impressive. The voice acting was done superb for both of them. They both showed their feelings in an not so over-the-top dramatic way which made it feel so real.
Enjoyment:
I enjoyed the movie VERY MUCH. I enjoyed it so much that It's now added to my top 10 list at 2nd place. I really didn't want this movie to end. But we all know, good things must come to an end. The ending played out perfectly. (5 cm spoiler) I seriously thought they were going to play the ending like how they did in 5cm per second. THANK GOD they didn't.
Overall:
Overall this is a masterpiece. Enough said. If you haven't seen it, you must watch it when it releases on DVD. I would gladly say that this deserves its number 1 rank on MyAnimeList (As of 19/09/2016) and should continue to stay there. It beats all the other movies such as spirited away simply by how amazing this story was. If I could ask for something to be improved, I'd say add more detail to the minor characters but nonetheless, this was an awesome movie.

I give NAME a 7/10
(May contain minor spoilers) Do you have what it takes to be a school Idol? What is your purpose in doing so? Do you you wish to pursue stardom? or is there another motive towards your goal? School Idol project shows us the the foundation steps of what it's like to become a school Idol.
This anime in not mediocre as some may say it is, but it's not a masterpiece either. This anime has its flaws but also has its strong points in which it makes it
...
standout.
Story:
The story follows three aspiring girls in a mission to save their high school from closing down. These three girls have came up with an solution to save their school and that is to form a school Idol club together as they're the most trendiest thing in Japan right now. They will use this idea in hope to bring a new wave of students who then will hopefully apply to this high school which will then prevent it from closing down. Along the way, they find new talents within their own high school which extenders their talent range, from great dancers to great singers.
The story itself is another "Oh I must do THIS to prevent THIS from happening" and after a while I was contemplating if I should continue on to season 2 or just leave off after season 1 ends. Surprisingly enough, the story isn't half bad. The two main focus of this entire story is that it is essentially a MUSIC genred anime with SLICE OF LIFE. Some may argue that Drama is also a part of this story but I disagree as the anime portrays a happy mood all throughout the anime, even when times go tough. I wasn't dissapointed with the story, infact I found it rather enjoyable.
Art:
The art in this anime reminded me a lot of Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso which is a compliment as both animes are music. Back to the topic of Love live, the art was really mind blowing at times. We had scenes where the characters were portrayed beautifully with the surroundings which made them standout a lot. The character design was very well done as well as the scenery for the school.
Apart from the compliments that I'm giving for the art style, there was sometimes really random and unprofessional looking CGI scenes. That made the score the art drop by A LOT. If a show has a great art style that shows scenes with amazement, then it should stay consistent instead of doing a lazy CGI to cover up the 'hard' scenes like the dances.
Sound:
It's a music anime, so you should expect the music to sound good otherwise it just defeats its whole purpose. The music was decent, it wasn't something to be amazed by. After all, some may like it more than I would. Don't get me wrong, I loved some of the songs that were shown in Love Live, and some of the OST's as well. It didn't really create the immersion of pop which is what it's supposed to do. But it didn't give a song that I could be attached to. Even after finishing the anime.
Character:
The strongest point of this anime is the characters. Each character has their own unique traits and personalities which makes them stand out. I really loved this show for the characters they showed as I liked them all. I especially like the characters such as Umi, Niko, Maki, Eri and Hanayo. Some may liked the others more than I did but hey, didn't I say I liked all the characters? This anime is a prime example of how characters should be portrayed. Instead of having same recycled looking characters, have different characters with different personalities. That is what makes a show stand out.
Enjoyment:
I can say I'm somewhat satisfied with this anime. I could have enjoyed it much more than I thought I could but it definitely beat my expectations. I'm usually not the type to watch anime's with strictly 'girls' protagonists only but this anime took me into a whole new side for that. My love for the characters is what amazes me the most, as that's the strongest suit for this anime. I enjoyed most of the animes, but some scenes (especially the CGI and pointless drama scenes can be taken out).
Overall:
My overall opinion of this anime is that it's an anime that is fun, which portays happy looking girls having a fun time at what they're doing. It's essentially not ideal for everyone as some don't like female ONLY animes or pop music animes but you need to take into consideration that the character development for this anime is a job well done.
In my opinion, the things that this anime should focus on improving is the CGI scenes because they just simply look disgusting and unprofessional and also fix up the story so it flows smoothly without these random events occurring. Nevertheless, it's a happy anime to watch.

I give Boku dake ga Inai Machi a 9/10
(May contain minor spoilers) Wow, Just wow. Erased took winter by storm. It showed to viewers that it can be one of the greatest anime ever made. It gives us a sense of mystery as well as a sense of love towards others such as our friends. It gives us hope of what may come in the future and ways to prevent it. Erased is an outstanding anime that I have seen. I especially love how this anime has portrayed the whole memory
...
subject in a movie metaphor. You can tell we are going through time by looking at the memories just by the OP.
Erased teaches us many form of things. From caring about the less fortunate, and to caring for your friends. Friends are what are made from childhood, so its only important to cherish them forever. TRUST is a big issue that has played in this anime. The anime has taught us that with trust, you can defeat a single battle with ease, even when it almost looks like the bad guy is about to win.
Story:
The story follows Satoru, a aspiring mana artist who is once had this ability to "reel" back in time. Once, a close relative of Satorus' is murdered by an unknown killer. This unknown killer is the same killer who killed 3 children, back in 1988, 18 years in the past. Satoru is sent back in time (Very similar to Stiens;Gate concept of time travel), and is where he has 18 years ago with everyone alive. Satoru now must live a life of finding out who this killer is. What is his motive? Why did he kill those children?
Satoru believes is he saves Kayo, he will change the future but it isn't just that simple. The process of trail and error is what keeps him going, having hope in what he is doing and becoming the hero that he has set out to become. We live the life of Satoru as a child as he finds to uncover the killer.
The story itself is really ORIGINAL and unique. Not many anime's do originally stories such as Erased has shown us. I really liked the concept of time travel to find the killer back in time rather than the present. The only thing that I find really annoying is the fact that the killer is too predictable later on in the middle half of the anime.
Art:
The art is mind-blowing. The art really represents the atmosphere of whats going on and which timeline Satoru is in. The anime used clear, vibrant colours to show the anime is an amazing way like no one has ever seen before. Everything from the scenery to the character design was very well presented. This is an prime example of how a mystery anime should look.
I especially like how the darkness and colours represented the mood. I noticed that it didn't snow when Satoru was in a coma but soon after it started snowing when he was able to be himself again.
Sound:
The sound is a very well produced masterpiece in my opinion. I really liked how the OP was shown. It was metaphorically shown to show Satoru and his life throughout the cinema reel. I liked the OST that were presented in the background.
The sound just made the anime feel a lot more immersive and made the viewer feel a lot more engaged with the anime. Therefore the viewer will emotionally be attached to the anime that they just have witnessed right before there very own eyes.
Character:
The characters played a big part in the anime. Apart from Satoru viewpoint, a lot of the characters played a big part in the mystery of the story. Popular characters such as Satoru and Kayo were immediately loved by people simply because of their unique personalities. Each character had their own personality, for example Kenya was the thinker, he would always think about whats going on and what doesn't seem ordinary.
Personally I loved the characters, I really liked how they all played a part in Satoru's investigation to saving the children and to uncover the killer.
Enjoyment:
Personally, I really enjoyed this anime. Each episode had me wanting more and sometimes it did end will really big cliff hangers which made me die. I had to wait a week just to watch the next episode which just comes to show how brilliant this anime was. I really liked how everything was portrayed.
However, in my opinion, I didn't like the fact that the killer was too easy to predict which made me hate the story a little bit because I wanted to be someone who no one would ever suspect.
Overall:
Overall this anime is a brilliant show. It makes the viewer denote everything that the producers have encoded in the show. It makes them wonder who is the killer and what are his motives. I like how everything was shown, slowly at a time. Sometimes I did feel like the anime was rushed (especially near the end), but it didn't take my mind of the story. It was the ending that I deserved. My only remark on this anime is the killer was to predictable.

I give Nagi no Asukara a 9/10
What an emotional journey this has been. Nagi no Asukara has shown us the ups and downs of a healthy friendship. The fear of change, and moving on. The fear of loving someone and not knowing if they love you back. Where two social societies meet and can't work together hand in hand.
This anime teaches us to love our friends, no matter how far we may drift apart. Change will always happen as it is destined, so make the most of your time together as friends to create memories that you will cherish forever.
Story:
The story follows 4 main characters
...
on their journey throughout high school in a society where land and sea people don't mix together. The character's who which are from the sea have been friends forever, ever since they were born. The story is really unique because it binds the viewer in a series of love triangles, almost making this anime look like a harem. the most unique point is that there is no lead protagonist, as each character has their own feelings that they express throughout the progression of the story. These friends try to live their lives out together, to support each other as they grow. My only problem is characters such as Hikari, got ALOT of screentime compared to characters such as Kaname. Also no one really listened to kanames feelings which I feel like he was left out of the group of friends,
Art:
The art has to be one of the most amazing and mind-blowing art styles I have ever seen in an anime. The scenery is breath-taking and makes the viewer really engaged with every little detail that this anime has shown. Each transition is fluid and smooth, with correct smoothness across all scenes. This is a prime example on how art should look. Not only is it beautiful, but its immersive.
Sound:
I love both the OD's and ED's for this anime, especially the first OP. This anime has one of the best soundtracks, both background music and the OP's and ED's. It represents the anime as really cheerful, and gives us a glimpse of their childhood as well as reminding us of ours. It really engaged me into watching the anime.
Character:
We follow 4 characters by the names of Hikari, Manaka, Chisaki and Kaname. The character development was done perfectly for this anime. Each character got their own back story on how they feel. As I said before, there is no main character in this anime, each character gets their own spotlight. Each character has their own unique personality that makes them stand out of the crowd. These characters, have traits and feelings for other characters in this anime. Apart from the main 4, side characters (or some can be considered main such as Miuana and Tsumugu) also get to express their feelings.
Enjoyment:
I really enjoyed every single moment of this anime. I loved watching every episode as it always had something new to show. I love animes where characters grow up, with a love story and comedy behind it to back it all up. I truly will miss this anime now that it's over, with no hopes for another season or an OVA (as of right now).
Overall:
Overall I give this anime a 9. It COULD have been a masterpiece but there were some problems that made this anime a 9. The first is that throughout the second half, the anime felt like it was rushed, like as if the creators wanted to cram the story all in 26 episodes. Another is the lack of screen time on the main characters (Kanames in particular). He wasn't my favourite character but he felt left out, both in terms of screentime and feelings wise. He was the only one that actually didn't get his feelings touched on by the others. The ending wasn't really in my favour either, that too felt it was rushed. There was no 'real' ending because their was no confession. (Maybe it could be hopes for season 2) There could have been so much room for improvement but I guess they didn't look at it. However, this anime is definitely one of my favourites and I will cherish it forever.

I give Owari No Seraph as a whole a total rating of 6/10
Owari no Seraph: Nagoya Kessen-Hen or better Owari no Seraph: "Battle of the Cliches" is an anime literally about vampire's vs humans in this post-apocalyptic world where all adults above the age of 13 have died. This anime could have been something really special but it has so many flaws that I wouldn't recommend this anime.
Let's start with the good points about this anime (so we can get them out of the way):
- The art in the anime wasn't really bad. I liked it as it gave us this classical but a modern
...
vibe which I was really impressed from. I liked how the settings were shown as well as how the art showed the characters.
- The action scenes were good...well most of them. I really enjoyed when they had team fights and I was really impressed by the art that was done within these fights.
Now, the bad points about this anime:
- THE BIGGEST PROBLEM with this anime is character development. Literally, I feel like the makers of this anime hardly put any emotions or screen time from the secondary characters such as Kimizuki, Yoichi and Mitsu. Sure they got like an episode dedicated to them each, but after that we hardly EVER saw them, especially Mitsu. Now i'm not a die-hard Mitsu fan, but she hardly appeared when the characters had a dialogue to speak. All she was there for was the combat. I feel this should have been improved to get a better feeling of other characters, and to be much more immersive. Other loved characters such as Krul and Yu's demon hardly got screentime as well.
- Another problem about the character development and some people may get mad at me for this is they put in some romance and then poof, it disappeared? I love romance, and when Guren asked Shinoa if she had feelings for Yu, after she said she didn't know IT JUST DISSAPEARED. Where did the slight chance of romance go? I'm not going to lie but I was hoping for a couple to develop and it looks like it never did. They tried to put in "Romance" but it didn't work.
- Yu's and Mika's relationship was nothing more that fan service. It first started of as brotherly love and then turned into some gay "I want you with me always" relationship. I have nothing against gay people or gay animes but the way the creators produces these characters relationships was way over the top. Every "love" story has it's limits.
- The story was full of cliches. The story wasn't really original, its pretty much like every other action anime out there. Do this, do that, save the world blah blah blah nothing unique in this anime. I didn't hate the story myself, it just could have been developed into something better.
- The Crowly fights were always boring in my opinion. Everytime they gained "power" they always got stopped on, and it became really repetitive and got boring. The ending wasn't really good either as the epic fight lasted only a total of 20 seconds.
- The soundtrack wasn't really amazing either. It didn't really pump me up or made me feel sad. Neither was it immersive.
Overall I did like this anime but it needs ALOT of improving. Especially on the characters.

I give Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo a 8/10
This anime is very inspirational! I first found out about this anime through a top 10 video on youtube. For some reason, the person placed it higher than Clannad and to my amazement, I decided to watch it to see if it beats the cake. I was impressed.
The moral of this anime is that no matter how much hard work you put in, failure is a thing. You will not always get everything you want. Jealousy can occur to those who are talented but you should develop your own talents instead of envying over it.
Story: -
...
9/10 -
The story follows 5 main characters that live in Sakurasou, a door for the problem children of sui high school. We follow one of them by the name of Sorata Kanda, as he tries to live out his high school life with these people. Sorata becomes changed when he first meet Shiina, a talented artist and shows him a whole new world of trying again and again.
The story shows us that in life, trail and error is a thing. That you shouldn't give up and you should always peruse your dream.
Art: - 8/10 -
The art in this anime is amazing. It shows the colours very well and overall gives a great feeling for the anime. The colours in the anime are bright so you can tell that this anime shows happiness.
Sound: -9/10-
I love both the OD's and ED's for this anime, especially the first OP. It shows them as being very happy at Sakurasou which is expressed in a good way. Each OST matches the appropriate scene and scenario which is very immersive.
Character: -10/10-
Character development for this anime was very important. I found each character to be unique with their own trait and talent. We have Sorata who is the only "ordinary" kid at sakurasou but that soon changes. Each character has their own emotions which is constantly showed throughout the anime and as well as their own personalities.
Enjoyment: -9/10-
I really enjoyed this anime. In my opinion, I think there should be a second season as the ending was really an ending. It should continue on to show the third year of the high school life. But, I really enjoyed this anime and will miss watching it.
Overall: -9/10-
Overall I give this anime a 9 because it teaches us a valuable lesson about not giving up. Do everything you can whilst you still are young as you have so many opportunities open to you. You should never give up in what you do. It also taught me a lesson to never give up on your natural talents and should further develop them instead of giving them up.
TL;DR - Watch this anime if you want to be inspired to do something with your life as you may be at a point of not knowing what to do.
Feel free to add me.

I give Oreshura a 8/10
Oreshura is a unique anime. It's one of those animes where the main protagonist isn't chancing love, but instead trying to fulfill another purpose even though it is an harem.
Story: - 7/10 -
The story follows a highschool boy named Eita, who wants to do something with his life. He wants to be a doctor so he can pay back his aunt who is his current guardian and to help a childhood friend. Everything starts of like a normal slice of life series however, he is one day met by the most beautiful girl in school. Masuzu, who blackmails him by using
...
his embarrassing notebook into being his boyfriend so the other boys can stop asking her out.
The story itself isn't so bad and you may think it isn't unique but using blackmail for love is interesting and I like that because it's funny to see how things work out.
Art: - 8/10 -
Of course, the art is amazing. This kind of art is used for anyone who has been down lately and want themselves to cheer up. The artwork that has been done in this anime is a job well done.
Sound: -8/10-
The sound in this anime is good. Depending on the mood of the scenario, each soundtrack hasn't failed to impress. Other sound effects in the background such as crickets or the waves of the ocean also create an immersive effect but it's not consistently heard throughout the show.
Character: -8/10-
Characters in this anime were very interesting as they all had their own unique personalities. Masuzu was the serious fake, A-Chan the tsundere love crazy type, Chiwa the annoying one (Literally) and Himeka the weird one. Each one of them have their own backstories on why they're in love with Eita and it's pretty interesting. Each character has a unique voice to reprsent who they are and I guess that really pulled me into the show.
Enjoyment: -9/10-
I thoroughly enjoyed this anime. I really liked how clean and refreshing it was and how It prevented itself from not copying other harems (Although some scenes were cliche). If a season 2 was going to come out, I would definitely watch it. The comedy in this show made me laugh a lot as it captured some really funny moments.
Overall: -8/10-
Overall I give this show a 8/10. I would have maybe gave it a 9 if the show didn't have so many obvious cliches. I wonder if they did 25 episodes instead of 13, it could have been interesting and it would make a much more impact on the viewer.
TL;DR - Watch this anime if you've been down as it will lift your spirits up!
Feel free to add me.

How to define a masterpiece. What is the difference between an ordinary anime and a masterpiece? An ordinary anime entertains you, however a masterpiece changes you in a way word's can't describe. It makes you re-evaluate the decisions you make, and the dictates how you make look into the future.
Clannad has brought me this sensational feeling. No other series has ever feel me this way, this powerful way that Clannad did. Everything is nothing but pure perfection by being simple to its core. The build ups, the tensions, the sound, the visuals and the characters make you feel as you're part of this long journey.
Firstly,
...
i'd like to say the most influential of this entire series has to be Akio-san and sanae-san. Without their presence and guidance throughout the series, this would have just been another kid trying to grow up on his own type of anime.
Story:
10/10
The story is complete perfection. It tells us the moral of living as a human being. The way we interact with others and how we create a bond with them. Clannad shows us how hard it can be to grow up, and what hardship may wait ahead but to never get down and continue living. Life isn't a miracle like in Clannad, but it gives us a reason to make our decisions now before it's too late.
Art:
10/10
At first, I really didn't like the art. I watched the first episode a long time ago, but stopped it 10 minutes after because I really hated the huge eyes. After ignoring that, I got used to it and it didn't really look as bad I thought it would. I actually like this are style as it showed a lot of emotions through their eyes as well as displaying characteristics. I really loved the colour corrections that were constantly used throughout the entire series.
Sound:
10/10
The sound is one of the best in any anime series ever. The music can be shown in two ways, either being sad or happy. Take the 'Dango' song as an example, it can be shown in a happy way but also in a sad way by simply taking out the singing and using the piano instrument only. Every soundtrack makes you emotional and it clings in your mind and heart whenever you hear the name Clannad.
Character:
10/10
Best character development ever. They used the first season to build up the characters, and in AS they implemented the characters as being supporting models for the main protagonists. Even if they were a supporting character instead of main, you can describe them really well and be really close to them. I especially liked the character Kyou because she made a better appearance later on in the season. It just goes to show that both Tomoya and Kyou were destined to be good friends.
Enjoyment:
10/10
Every episode was jaw-dropping and interesting. It always made me excited to see the next episode. None of the episodes failed in not entertaining me. I loved everything about the series. This anime will make you laugh, as well as cry!
Overall:
10/10
Hands down my favourite anime so far. It changed me in many ways on how I see myself growing up and the future in which lies ahead. I appreciate everything this anime has done, as Im sure it changed a lot of people to respond in different ways. I did cry on occasions, but that just goes to show how impact this anime was.
Thank you for reading my first review.
