Well many things are different among these both, the main characters are widely different but when it comes to the relationship between the characters - there is an undeniable nostalgia. They kind of end up on similar positions on web of relationships. I might have been too cryptic but i was trying to avoid any kind of spoilers....just these shows a try.

Well Plot and Premises are quite different. The familiar feeling is with the characters, disposition of Orphen and Cleao is similar to Kazuma and Ayano, respectively. And of course the resulting interactions, between relevant couples, were alike too.

If you liked Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto add

...then you might like Tenpou Ibun: Ayakashi Ayashi add

Both are of-course historical anime. Both are based around in 'bakufu' period. While Irohanihoheto tries to retell history with a face of various supernatural occurrences, Tenpou finds itself meddling more with folklores.

...then you might like Tribe Cool Crew add

Both have short stature protagonist (Hinata/Haneru) chasing his passion (volleyball/Dancing) with great motivation. Both have great and similar supporting cast as well. Tribe Cool Crew is a Kids anime though but is a good watch.

...then you might like Garo: Vanishing Line add

Wendy-Van relationship chemistry is very much similar to that of Sophie-Sword. Both Wendy and Sophie are looking for their brothers and along the way they meet lonely figures of Van and Sword.
