this show is so underwhelmingly boring. there is zero to little development in every episode even playing this in the background felt dull, it was like a goddamn ppt show. although the show's concept is quite the refresher compared to the rest of its kind (isekai), that's the only thing it offers, nothing else.
mitsuha aka the female lead aka the only lead aka the only person they want you to focus on, does not provide basic entertainment. she tries to conduct antics, but the execution is so overused it just makes you go: oh, okay. but if you do enjoy a witty, ambitious/imaginative lady (or
...
tries to be) just trying to do her own stuff, you could settle.
side characters were made like they're only here to make mitsuha glow and shine. people have random emotion breakouts and it's hard for others to empathize with the story because of how she came to be in this godforsaken world in the first place.
rating:
ok voice-acting, recycled trash op & ed, animation was fine, 0 side characters to like or pay attention to, mitsuha eh, bad-paced storyline
tldr; don't watch unless u wanna sleep (good f-ing night) or enjoy shows providing no emotional value

i really try to enjoy isekai animes as it's such a love-hate genre, especially with female mcs (gotta support my girlies), but one question that travels across my entire body as i endure this horrifying phase of my life, is: what is this show trying to appeal?
is it the fact that our female main is incredibly strong to the point she can conquer a kingdom single-handedly? or is it trying to say she's such a cool character to tag along with because she's so emotionless and unbothered? ooh or is it the interesting side characters that spice up the show a lot more?
neither. this
...
show fails vigorously to provide any sort of satisfaction for the viewer. nobody acknowledges this universe-level threat of a school girl, she shows no intelligence despite having played through the game in her past life, and the characters that circle her life are the ones i'd kick the moment i meet their eyes.
as far as the episode's going on, all they do is center around irritating side characters yapping about their intellectual disabilities while our girl watches and thinks about how to conduct more stupidity 24/7.
i've always anticipated for the show to do something to give the viewer something to latch onto as the story progresses, but in the end it's the same "u suck my love is hurting bcs u breathed" type of momentum. yeah you do what you want, i'm out and going back to bakarina.
edited: after months i gave this one a retry and it's not actually that bad, the points i hated on before progressively gets deteriorated

(Review contains spoilers up to Episode 4 of the series.)
It's a very typical Bakarina plot, a show similar which I fully enjoyed, yet I have no idea what I'm watching. Whether it's the emphasized contrast between good and evil on the Female Lead's part, or the obnoxious cries and drama she emits every single minute, I couldn't stand shit after girlie just threw herself over people to cry and tell them to kill her. I see the direction they're trying to head towards, and it is not a terrible presentation (yes it is), but the way it's shown to me is just plain bad. However,
...
I appreciate the logistics they try to put out (it's still poorly executed) and I enjoyed the few moments she obliterated and killed everyone as an 11-year-old girl like it was nothing!
If you're in for some weird dramatical shit where the lead collects play-toys of boys along her crying adventure, then you'd probably love this series to death. Otherwise, either never see this thing or just use it as a way to feed your Isekai Genre addiction. Perhaps it's just me who doesn't have the patience to see the "depth" the show offers, but who is able to stand a Female Lead complaining about her self-doom and bitter ending? Not me.
All in all:
- Predictable and typical plot
- Dramatic
- Badass MC who gives no shit about her enemies
- Side characters adapt to how she's feeling (she cry they cry she mad they maddd)
Won't rec to anyone, there are plenty of better options.

Uh so, I'm not good at review openings, so drum roll?
DISCLAIMER: If you haven't watched the anime, I recommend you not to read this review,as this contains major spoilers.
So, here goes. Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken or That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime is your typical isekai anime. It has all the basics, MC has an uneventful life, then goes on and dies from either a mistake, or to save someone. Becomes a overpowered char.
This the case for this anime, the MC-- thirty-seven-year-old Satoru Mikami is a typical corporate worker who has never had a girlfriend within his thirty seven years of living.
But
...
one day while meeting with his colleague,he saves his colleague and gets stabbed and die. But he of course doesn't die immediately, while waiting for his death, not only was his colleague crying, he heard a voice in his head that kept on saying commands that he couldn't understand, and loss consciousness.
After Satoru regained consciousness, he discovers that he has turned into a slime and is at a place he is not familiar with. While realizing he has actually reincarnated, he finds about skills that he has acquired-- a power to devour anything and mimic its appearance and abilities.
Whilst having nothing to do but just devouring herbs, he comes across Veldora, a storm dragon that is of catastrophe-level and finds out the dragon has been sealed away for 300 years. Feeling sympathy for the dragon, Satoru befriends him, promising to assist in destroying the seal. In return, Veldora bestows upon him the name Rimuru Tempest to grant him divine protection.
Now Rimuru (aka Satoru), goes on a journey with the promise he made in mind. While getting used to the environment there, he meets new allies and enemies.
Now the ratings:
Story: 7/10
What did you expect? The MC's OP, the outcome is pretty predictable (for me), and nobody really dies, just gets defeated and weirdly becomes allies with our MC. As the story goes on, it does get quite boring but once it's past an arc, it's okay. The best time for the story would probably be when Rimuru met the kids imo.
Art: 7/10
The graphics and art in episode 1 really stood out to me, it looked really amazing and pleasant to look at. My favorite scene would be when Rimuru was riding Ranga to defeat Ifrit, the fighting scenes in this anime is really cool to watch and it keeps you sucked in to the story.
Sound: 7/10
The OP and ED is great to listen to, but there's always music that isn't fit for the time of the scene, could've done better.
Character: 9/10
Despite all the bad things people say, I don't mind the OP chars and villains that join Rimuru's side, though it's as I said, weird. But aside from that, I really like the characters. My favorite character would be Milim, she didn't become a Demon Lord because she wanted to become evil or anything, she was just, well, bored. She visits Rimuru and eventually becomes his 'best friend' by Rimuru simply giviing her honey. Even though she leaves a few episodes later, she tells Rimuru that she will tell other Demon Lords to stay away from this place. Keep in mind, Milim is one of the oldest and strongest Demon Lords. I like how they didn't just make her have a pesty and childish side, but a strong and scary side too, much different than other/most anime girls.
Enjoyment:8/10
I think it's just really satisfying for me to see the enemies either get beaten up to a pulp or just get beaten easily.
EXTRA cuz why not:
Re watch Rate: 10/10
I've watched quite a lot of times and I don't regret it, it's bomb and gets better and better.
Overall: 8/10
Although I can't describe it in words, there is something I like about this anime that just stands out to me that other isekai animes don't have, thus making it one of my favorite isekai animes.
