Hey there, so, I was a bit reluctant but I still decided to start writing a rewiew about this series, hoping it'll be of help to whoever's wondering what to do about it. After all we just hit the 5 released eps mark and I myself decided just this morning to give it a try.
STORY - 7.5/10 (particular, meaning very good or very bad depending on you):
well, I think the other guys who did their reviews did a good job in getting pretty well the main points across with just a few word.
The plot and setting are in fact very peculiar and so not
...
everyone is going to enjoy them, with a bunch of different thoughts that can come out from this. Personally, the setting is what from the beginning brought me here.
Already from the promotional videos and samples they present you the show as built around a strong contrast: firstly it comes its slice of life part with these alternative, but still someway moe(?), maids doing their supposed job, to then move into the action brought by the fights going on behind the scenes. If I had to pick a similar show, as I thought before even beginning this, probably I'd go with Princess Principal since they may also have based this on it, deciding to take the story into the modern era.
(Plot) Akiba really is pictured as a different world ran by its own rules, where criminality isn't left in the hands of Yakuzas but taken over by the most populars maids reuinited in their factions of maid cafès. Our two protagonist are newly employed in a rundown cafè owned by the Kemonomimi Maid Faction (I made up the name), while one of them is older and already knows what she's put into, the younger one is your country girl who dreamed to become a maid in Akiba knowing only of the front side of this type of work. Until now you are getting to see how the younger one is shown the ropes of both the roles she took on with the job she carelessly applied for, while the crew of the cafè is fighting (litterarly) together to avoid going bankrupt or face a bad ending.
ART - 8/10 (not bad at all):
Through the episodes, and also during the OP and ED of the show, you are able to see how the effects are used very well, while the camera remains classic, not assuming weird angles from now and then - different from ecchi anime and Monogatari like series - with the art itself of the drawings enjoyable and not excessive, as it should be expected from P.A. Works.
SOUND - 7/10 (pretty normal):
There aren't voices that doesn't fit the characters for now, even if personally I'd have Satou Rina not keeping a very low voice as in the OP or in a lot of Ranko's scenes; speaking of the OP, I find it great, while the ED is skippable in all honesty.
CHARACTERS - 7/10 (you could find some very common singurarly, but in this show even they'll become different):
There are seven frequent characters that correspond to each member of the cafè where our two MCs started working, them included, plus the "Debt Collector" who is a recurring character and shows up every time, while still being called only that. So, our particular kemonomimi cafè's theme is butas (pigs) which means that five of our seven frequent characters are maids (spoiler: no traps) that wear also pig ears, yeah, but there's also the manager girl and an unknown character wearing a panda suit.. yeah, the heck?
Entering into the details: the younger MC is an enjoyable character, she has yet to grow, and we are just shown how she's at least getting used to what happens around her, while slightly improving in the maid part and not doing so as a fighter; the oldest MC on the other side is still bad as a maid, even when we got to know from the first scene that in her past she used to work also for another maid cafè, but she's badass while fighting.. to the point of being idolized by a character she defeated, making that one girl become part of our cafè. Of the maid girls, apart the one who joins because of the MC, just two worked there prior the beginning of what we are shown: one is a gyaru who I think already had her shine moment for the series and for whom I don't hold particular feelings, the other is the cafè's star maid, meaning the best one at their front job; I really like this second maid, also taking into consideration that her VA is the same of Saotome Mary, who I in someway find very similar to her in their behavior pattern. You're then likely to dislike the manager and to be confused for the existence of the panda, which has managed to make me laught at least a couple of times so far even playing just a sideline role.
ENJOYMENT - ?/10 (we just started so idk, I'd wait to give this mark, but at least I don't think I waisted time watching this).
I made this way too long and I'm sorry for that, I hope you managed to skip until here.. and wheter you decided to give the show a try or not, I still whish you a good time, bye~

Hlo to you reading the reviews of this series..
I'll start this review by saying that I wouldn't have done this normally, if it wasn't for the fact that an anime adaptation will start soon and you can find only two negative opinions for now, made by people that didn't get past the first ten chapters. First of all, STORY - 6.5/10 (not that bad as you'd think reading the summary): it's true that it's not an original setting, but it's done better than 90% of the likes of it. (Plot) The main character is banished from the hero party because he's seen as useless, but in reality ... Jun 30, 2021

Just WOW..
It all had started with Kujira no Kora wa Sajou ni Utau, after quite enjoying it I watched its recommended anime and I luckily saw this one. /STORY/ 10 The story is something else compared to 99% of other series, it's extremely accurate and intriging, it only lacks a bit where there are the timeskips (2 out of 3), but that's also fine.. afterall who would watch an anime where he/she is capable of predicting all the future actions, without having even a little part to leave the immagination go? *I'll continue writing about the plot and my thoughts on it at the end in the ... As you can tell by watching at my profile, I'm not really the type of person that does reviews very often.. but after reading this manga, I though that the previous ones about it were pretty strict.
In fact compared to others manga of this period, or in general, it's not one of the worst. If you like thrillers, you may give it a check. STORY - 7/10 (It might makes some little spoilers, but only about the plot in general) I start saying that it's not that much original, but it isn't bad. It has the typical base plot that you could expect by ... Jun 30, 2019

Hi,
I saw that some people have done some reviews about this anime and so.. Two things that you must appreciate are the art and the characters of Black Bullet (very well made). Well, the anime story is great, it's original and for people who like it's rich in fan service. The story is only at the start, and you can understand it "easily". FROM NOW I SPOILER SOMETHING TO YOU: As you can read in the plot the story is about some events that interest the (hlf) hume Satomi Rentaro and the "special girl" Enju Aihara. The two protagonist in this series try to defeat one/two of the eleven ... |
