Basically, Mad Bull 34 is the best anime ever. The characters are likable, the voice-acting is stupendous, and the thrills never stop. I could not recommend this more to a prospective viewer.
Make sure you pick up the dub version; the accents are unbelievably well-done. They also preserved the original soundtrack, which really heightened the atmosphere of the entire piece.
Trying to keep this short since no one likes slogging through a gas-bagging review, but I really can't praise this show enough. It is a sure-to-please hit.

Quite simply, Togainu no Chi is the kind of awful show that you just keep on watching. The animation is awful, the direction is sloppy, and the whole thing is just kind of trashy. It also takes itself way too seriously. And, yet, I love it. It's just so bad it's good.
My only real criticism, since all my other criticisms are really just part of why I love this piece of crap, is that the BL is really light. But, hey, maybe it'll get better in that regard. Oct 25, 2010

I have to be honest - I don't understand why this has such a high rating. I'm hard-pressed to think of a show with poorer execution than this one, which managed to take some decent elements and squander them utterly by being one of the dullest shows I've ever watched.
And, really, that's the problem - this show is obscenely boring. Yes, the planes are really cool, yes, the politics should be interesting, but the pace is awful and the main character, Agate, is rendered about as well as a 4 year old's self-portrait. Its really quite mind-numbing. A big disappointment. I really wanted to ... Jun 12, 2010
This is going to be a very blunt, very short review.
UraBoku = Blue Seed. The only difference is that UraBoku has a hint of BL to its proceedings, and its animation is better. UraBoku isn't bad exactly - its just not even slightly original. The first five episodes or so are boring as hell, though. I've read most of the manga, so it should improve, but don't go into this expecting something fresh and amazing. This is purely disposable entertainment, the kind of thing you watch to kill time. Not awful, but certainly nothing to write home about. It does have a good soundtrack, though. |
