"Pretty Good" Would probably be the way this anime can be described, its your typical harem drama anime and it works well in my opinion as someone who have read the manga. So to those who plan to only watch the anime take my review with a grain of salt in mind.
The story itself starts with the main character returning back to his grandmother's house to find 5 girls with already an unimaginable amount of fan service which should just be ignored. The introduction of the heroines are understandably annoying to anyone well except
for those to are up to date in the manga.

Plot:
Cafe Familia an old cafe by the seaside run by Kusakabe Hayato's grandparents, After the accident that killed both of his parents the only person alive left to care for him is his grandmother. He would soon move to tokyo and be accepted in Tokyo University but would return after the death of his grandmother. To his surprise to find 5 random woman in his home. Only to find out they were his "family" whom his grandmother took in the time that he left.
Characters (Major Spoilers):
"Don't Judge A Book By It's Cover"
Not really a good way to introduce the characters this reminded me of how pissed off and annoyed at Nino Nakano before she became one of my favorites in 5-tobun. Other than the introductions the characters are well rounded as long as the viewer understands their backstory. The characters are made well so that there are "drama" and comedy to be made out. Another thing to like in this anime is how its not oblivious to dirty jokes its not your typical cartoon things flying around after seeing someone naked. Its taken well as the characters are well matured enough since the youngest is Ami at 19 while most of them are 20+.
Hayato Kusakabe
Is probably one of the harem protagonists who actually have a brain and not your typical dense beta character. How so? Knows how to defuse a tense situation specially since he knows that the girls are in love with him, Knows when the girls have a problem, Has morals enough to accept when he is the wrong and apologize, stand up for what he thinks is wrong.
Ouka Makuzawa
The one who designed the uniforms as she dreams to be a fashion designer, The first one out of her family to not graduate in tokyo university, Absolutely hates dirty jokes to the point where she actually collapse after waking up hayato in a hotspring trip by removing his futon and being the first to see his private part. She takes care of her new family and looks out for them. Soon she would fly to France in order to continue her studies in fashion before returning after failing.
Akane Hououji
Your cool girl who came from the Hououji Family lead by her grandmother. Her family is your typical oujo sama type like marika from nisekoi. Where she could be forced to marry someone else by her family of course this was solved by hayato since her grandmother actually worked in the familia and actually fell in love with hayato grandfather before being rejected.
She absolutely hates ghost and would ask hayato to go with her to the bathroom of she feels afraid. For now she does band is pretty well known in their town.
Riho Tsukishima
People who hated Nino Nakano would probably hate her but for those who loved Nino would probably love her as well. She is a child of an actress. At a young age she starred in some films and movies in order to be appreciated by her mother who only saw her as a replica of herself.
Abused by her mother and forcibly banned her father in a court from meeting her until she became 20. She would not meet her father until she became 21 only to be delivered a news that her mother only have 3 months to live.
Shigariku Ono
Hayato's childhood friend they first met when her father brought her to meet Sachiko. She held secrets of Kusakabe Sachiko from Hayato. After revealing these secrets to him she would reveal to the familia that she also likes Hayato and would pursue becoming his wife. Her father is a 3 star michelin chef.
Ami Tsuruga
She may seem as a idiotic airhead but don't be fooled she is fluent in French. The protector of the familia her strength cannot be underestimated as she pulls up weights almost 24/7. Her parents died in an accident making her situation the same as Hayato, Only difference being that her grandmother is still alive but suffers in some sort of dementia/alzheimers as she forgotten everything about her granddaughter. She's the first one to sleep beside hayato and bath with him in the mixed bath in a hotspring.
Overall the anime captured and conveyed the aspects of the manga really well. Enjoyed it really well. One suggestion would probably be to read the manga.

If there's anything i think that this season is good why?
probably because its progressive development of characters that you can see starting from episode 1. some parts may have been bland but i think its a good way of continuing a story unlike in season 1 where we can almost see godsuya is every episode doing amazing things and being a god in this season we see him in the kinda below the belt of gods Story: (Spoiler kinda?) Starting from season 1 we can 100% conclude that miyuki will fall in love with his brother so its not really a surprise that in a episode we ... |
