... I just finished watching this show, and... Well, no matter how much i try to translate what i feel into words, i can't. But i'll still try.
Story.
From the very start, if you have more than 5 braincells or are not completely hypnotised by the show, then you'll notice this one is one of those shows where you are given the strict minimum info right up until the end, where they'll dump a mountain of it on you. However, even if you do realise that, the show manages to tease you along the way regardless, making you feel like you're licking the plate after eating
...
your favourite food. Well, at least it made me feel like that. Well, i don't want to spoil any more, so i'll just add this: don't expect to understand anything until the last 2 episodes, but expect to be left utterly confused at the end of each episode.
Art.
Honestly, nothing to say here. I'm not picky about art'n stuff. Unless it's picasso and other abstract garbage. That's not art, that's making money off idiots. Anyone can throw a bucket on a wall and call it art.
Sound.
Amazing. Voice-acting is really good, feels real, and the music fits in perfectly. Amazing intros and outros too.
Characters.
Oh boy. First, there is our main character, Shu. He reminds me a lot of Shinji from Neon Genisis Evanghelion. They both isolate themselves, and because of their personality they harm not only themselves but also others around them, making stupid, if not the most stupid, decisions in the heat of things. However unlike Shinji, who victimizes himself and throws the blame on others, Shu takes almost all of it on himself, blaming himself for everything, rarely throwing the blame on someone else. He is a coward running away from everything not only so he doesn't hurt himself, but also because of fear of failure and incompetence. That makes him much more relatable than Shinji. He is also a human, not any kind of human, a cowardly one, as a result he makes choices that made me quit this anime for a few weeks several times. But this shows just how well the anime manages to put me in the MC's shoes and makes me feel just like the mc at that moment: like shit. There are many other characters, both unique and classics, but they all seem to have a place in this show. Well, except for one, but that's another talk.
Enjoyment.
At moments, i hated it.
At moments i loved it.
At moments... I just wanted to forget this anime exists.
Did i enjoy it? I don’t know. I have never felt this puzzled before at this question. I honestly have no idea at the time of writing. So why did i give it 10? I don’t know the exact reason myself.Gut feeling i guess. Or would that be called gut voting ?
All i can say is, watch it. You might hate it, you might love it, you might feel both, but what is sure is that this is a very interesting experience, and i reccomend it, to anyone and everyone.
