Flicking through the summer anime announcements on AniChart was how I stumbled across Zankyou no Terror. After watching the PV and reading the synopsis, I was really interested. And so, I decided to watch it... and was enlightened.
Terrorism is a rare subject to see animes about, and hearing about ZnT's plot made me incredibly intrigued. I wasn't sure how they were going to do it. But, let me just say, the executed the plot beautifully. The story is interesting, and I was gripped the entire way through. The ending had me stunned. My gosh. This is one of the best animes, if not THE best I have ever seen. If you think this anime is a light-hearted, happy magical girl anime... it's the opposite.
Most magical girl animes show the lighter side of being a magical girl - the frilly costumes, power, working together with friends, ect. Madoka Magica, though? It shows the other side of it COMPLETELY - the truth behind the frilly costumes, the power, and all of that stuff. It also shows the consequences behind making a wish... ending in despair. I was really excited when this anime was announced, because I have a liking for the Kagerou Project series of songs - and I was one of those who actually liked the anime.
So, now to explain my ratings. Story 8 - The story was very well written, but I had to give it 8 because I thought the end was a bit rushed. Art 9 - The character designs and backgrounds are beautiful. There were some still shots where it didn't look like the character was moving when they were running, but it was really nice to watch.
