1st episode was amazing. interesting story, and ai was really interesting and likeable. her passing, while it serves as great shock value, also ends the episode on a high note, and leaves an interesting set-up for the future. who killed ai? why did they kill her? what was ai really like? all interesting questions that are mostly ignored for .. reincarnation BS. yeah, that set the show up to fail for me. i find the idea of some grown ahh man who crushed on a 16 y/o teen idol being reincarnated as her baby while retaining his memories to be not only just.. gross, but
...
also pointless. like i said, the story was already looking interesting, and you couldve easily done your "exposé" on the 'truth of the music industry' (which is just saying the same thing people have been saying and have known for decades but still forget and act like its a brand new, shocking, dark secret .. but i digress). the story instead focuses on this unlikeable creep and his annoying twin sister, who is another ai fan who got reincarnated.
we then spend some episodes on some new characters which i frankly could not care about— the show tries to pull at your heartstrings and make you feel bad for these characters, but i just cant bring myself to. they get introduced, get little characterisation, but oh no im supposed to feel pity for them :( i dont.. really .. care?
overall, couldve been interesting but all the potential went down the drain after ep 1 in my opinion. shame.
