This is a somewhat content based review. You should have at least some knowledge before reading my review. *there are some slight spoilers in it*
STORY: 8
The story at first seemed to start off rather weak, but became very interesting later. It's about two slaves who are as close as brothers; they are always fighting and training against themselves to become stronger. They have a dream to escape slavery and become great generals. their ambition is what fuels them to advance and work hard. At first I didn't understand why they were so eager to become warriors from them just seeing a battle, but it later
...
became clear as we find out that that is how they intend to escape their current social stature as slaves. They are orphans who were taken in as slaves, they have a dream and they train tirelessly to achieve it. Later Hyou dies and that's where things get serious. When he died, I have to admit it gave me goosebumps and really made me empathize with Shin and the pain that he felt. An anime that can make me feel something emotionally is certainly a well done anime. That what I have to say about that.
ART: 6
I give the art a six because it really throws me off. The animation is far different from traditional animes. I don't know if it's something new, or if they purposely wanted to make it this way, but is almost feels like a poorly developed 3D game if you know what I'm getting at. I personally think that the animation could have been better.
SOUND: 8
I give the sound a 8 because the voices are certainly awesome. They main character's voice is actually Ichigo's from bleach. Hyou is also some famous voice, but I don't quite recall what it is. And the guy that narrates for background information is the same guy who does it for one piece. I personally really liked the voices and I think that they fit quite well. The only thing that threw me off a little is Shin's and Hyou's voices. the voices seemed a bit too mature for their age, they're like kids or mid-teens yet they have grown up voices; It throws you off a little. That's the only thing I don't like about it. But other than that, I'd say well done on the sound.
CHARACTERS: 9
I don't know why but apparently, Hyou, the more outgoing of the two is favored more by others more than Shin is. The family who he is enslaved to treats him better and even the old royal guy who offered him to come with him to be an officer seemed to want him more. I suppose it makes sense though because Shin is more rough around the edges than Hyou (more rude and upfront). But I personally like Shin more, I feel like he has a stronger personality than Hyou. Their relationship is as strong as brothers and they are easy to like. I also feel like the kid's strength is greatly exaggerated for their sizes. They carried a basket that was like 4 times their size. And shin plowed through a huge group of strong bandits.I get that they are strong, but it makes no sense how they can do all that with their size and proportion...
The Characters I don't like is that old royal asshole who only offered a position for Hyou and wouldn't take Shin when its clear they would both make excellent soldiers. I also hate the family that the two of them are enslaved to. They are spoiled little pricks who deserve to die, or at least in my opinion. And lastly, the King's little brother really pisses me off. He's jealous of his brother who is the king and starts a revolt because of it. He is the most spoiled little bitch I have ever seen. My anger towards him only show how good of a job this anime did in making a decent supporting side character. I also think it's stupid that anyone would follow a little midget who has no power and thinks he's something special. It never does make any sense to me why people would follow such a pathetic excuse of a human being.
Overall though, I like the characters introduced thus far, and It certainly makes me think more of this anime for it.
ENJOYMENT: 9
My enjoyment to this point is fairly high and I'm interested in what's going on. I feel like this is going to be a successful anime based on what I saw so far to this point.
OVERALL: 8
I give this an 8 total because of the average of all the scores, and I feel that it describes my thoughts on it quite well. I would definitely recommend this anime. At the very least it is worth seeing yourself.

This was an awesome anime that really had some class to it.
To start off, I'd like to say that there really isn't much of a story to it. I guess there's the beginning of how The main character Okajima Rokuro later nicknamed Rock, joins the group Black Lagoon, but that's as much of a story as there is to it. It doesn't have any one thing about it to make it a complete story. It's more of just random missions and run of the mill jobs that the company Black Lagoon takes
...
on. It's one of those types of stories that can go in just about any direction depending on the random missions. Although there isn't a preset story, it doesn't really need one in order to make an enjoyable anime.
Next, the characters. I find that the characters are really unique and individualistic. You have the big black dude, Dutch, who acts as the boss in the group; he's often serious about his work but he can also be a pretty cool relaxing guy. Then you have the crazy physco chick, Revy, in the group that is hot-headed and is more of the type of person to talk with her guns rather than with words. She definitely has a few screws loose as you'll find out later on, but though she acts tough and crude, she really grows on you after a while. Then there is also Benny, who is the computer nerd of the group. He doesn't really do much action wise, he's more of the guy who acts as support for the group. He does his computer stuff and fixes things and what not. He's the most normal person in the group aside from Rock. Lastly, there is Rock, just a regular Japanese business guy who unfortunately got mixed in with the wrong crowd. He doesn't really do much in the group either, he's more of support for Revy than anything else. He also isn't bad with plans and negotiations at times. He also has a wide variety of knowledge that comes in handy. It would be nice if he had more of an action role, but I suppose he's fine without it as well. He would also make a good romantic interest for Revy as she is often influenced by him. but as a matter of fact, that hasn't quite happened in this first season. still I would keep an open mind with it.
The characters are all fascinating and each have their own story as you figure out along the way. Revy has had a tough blood stained life since childhood, Benny got caught up in it as he was just a normal guy like Rock. Rock was just an average dispensable guy in his company who took a lot of shit from his superiors until he joined Black Lagoon. And so far, we haven't learned much about Dutch yet, but maybe we will in the second season. You also meet some other interesting side characters along the way like Balalaika, the boss of Hotel Moscow, Bao, the bar tender who constantly has his shop destroyed, Roberta, the crazy terminator like maid who is nearly invincible, and many more.
This has a lot of action and blood in it. It's pretty hardcore, I feel like it really nailed the sense of realism and intensity of real life crime. It's pretty exciting and interesting to watch, the senseless violence just adds to the awesomeness as well.
Though it also has it's faults as some of the characters appear to be invincible at times. Certainly not realistic by and stretch of imagination. The way the characters always dominate without ever getting seriously injured or killed and so on. That one terminator like maid who I swear is the terminator as she is way to overpowered. though it can be unrealistic, it's an anime, so what do you expect? No anime ever has perfect realism in it.
with everything said, this is definitely an anime to check out if your into this type of genre. I certainly didn't think much of it at first but trust me you will get hooked after a few episodes. I certainly did. It's worth the watch, so give it a chance.

Review: Code Geass
First off, this review is for the entire code geass series, meaning both seasons. I see no point in separating them. *Also Beware of Spoilers*
This was a breathe taking spectacular anime that doesn’t disappoint. Right from the start, you get foreshadowing of what the story will be about. Lelouch sitting in rubble from a war stricken country, tells his friend Suzaku that he will obliterate Britannia. From there, you know what the story will be about. A beginning is set with an end goal in mind, and then
...
the story is told of how it all happens from then on.
It jumps right into the story; Lelouch is thrown right into action as he accidentally gets involved in an incident between terrorists and the Britannian army. He meets his friend underground in the stolen terrorist truck and C2 from the capsule; from there on he is forced to run in mortal danger as his life is at risk. He is put into a life or death situation where he is helpless. Then C2 jumps in and grants him an amazing power which saves his life and consequentially speeds up his initial plans. He has gained the magnificent power which allows him to compel others to do his bidding.
This story is one that is filled with action and all sorts of drama that will leave you wanting more. There is little to almost no filler as almost everything has a significant role to play throughout the story.
All sorts of characters are brought to life that all have their own significant history and purpose in some way. The characters are introduced one at a time. Kallen whose mother was an “eleven” and her father who is Britannian has her story and her reasons why she joined and fights with the terrorists. Nunnally who is blinded and crippled has her story of hardship as she endured what Lelouch has and stayed with him the whole time. Suzaku who killed his father when he was young, endures the torture of living as he wants to die but can’t die due to the geass Lelouch put on him telling him to live. He joins the army and does whatever he can as a sort of way to repent for his previous mistake, which in the end is what he ends up doing as he gives up his life to serve as the icon of zero for the rest of his life. C2 who is immortal and cannot die is burdened with living for eternity as she struggles through points in time that she would not otherwise wanted to live through. Her tale is a tragic one and explains much about her and her nature. Euphy, who is much like a princess, cannot escape her child like state where she is constantly guarded and used as a figure head as she is protected and binded down. Shirley who is in love with Lelouch would even give her life for him despite the fact that he killed her father; she dies a very tragic death as she killed by Rolo. Rolo was also an interesting character who loves Lelouch as a brother and ends up giving his life to protect him as the only time that felt real to him was when he was with Lelouch despite it being fake. All the characters portrayed were simply all amazing in their own way and truly added to the story in one way or another.
The way that Lelouch and Suzaku both take opposing sides and have different views of justice really adds to the action and drama. Two best friends that cannot agree with each other destined to clash at some point. Though it’s slightly tragic, it certainly adds to the overall appeal. It’s also quite unexpected that they ended up working together in the end to realize their plan for the world.
Lelouch’s goal is a farfetched one as taking down such a predominant country is very unlikely, this one goal that starts it all is brought into a real perspective as Lelouch gets the power of Geass and slowly gains more power with his group/ allies/connections. It’s quite interesting to see how his complicated and ornate plans will turn out and what sort of plot twists will come up next.
This anime introduces and combines all sorts of popular aspects that can be found from other relevant material; Gundam like robots, Death Note like properties, 13 Knights of the Round Table, The Order of the Black Knights , Romeo and Juliet, etc. If you look hard enough you can find a lot of reference material that you wouldn’t think about at first. It’s all brilliantly meshed together in one awesome anime.
The anime truly keeps you guessing and on edge wanting more as you progress further into it. The battles are fantastic and action packed filled with excitement. The ways Lelouch uses his Geass power in very intricate ways to get his plans to work is quite fascinating as well. As things progress, it gets more serious, the whole slip up with using Geass on Euphy, then the huge battle afterword. Nunnally getting kidnapped, the cliffhanger mid-way through with Suzaku and Lelouch, then the events that follow, all the people escaping out of Japan, the china forces joining Lelouch, King Charles being betrayed by his country and Schneizel. Everything sort of builds up you could say. Throughout the story, all the plot twists really take you for a spin but will leave you wanting more. When I think about this anime, I think that I couldn’t have made it better myself even if I wanted to.
Lelouch’s goals initially included getting revenge on Britannia, his father, and making a better world for his sister Nunnally. Once he got his revenge, he then decided to follow through with his decision to improve the world for the better for his sister’s sake.
The ending was also quite significant as Lelouch was killed by zero, the hero he invented at the beginning. He formed his plan with the symbol of zero in mind. Zero stood for freedom and prosperity and it served as a icon for the people from the start. Zero wasn’t necessarily represented as one person. Anyone can be zero so long as they represent what he stands for. That idea and thought was shown as the end as that’s what occurred. Lelouch allowed himself to be killed by zero as zero was their icon that brought the people hope from the start.
The ending, as tragic as it was, you have to admit, there could have been no better ending. It fits perfectly and really goes with the story quite well. The ending really gets to you as well.Whether or not you’re the emotional type, you have to admit the ending was extremely sad and emotional. I personally cried at the end, and I’ve never really done that over any anime before. But it was also a quite fair anime with a brilliant ending that gave you a choice on how you chose to perceive it. You could think that Lelouch died or that he somehow survived and was there at the end with C2 on the carriage. An ending that gives you that kind of choice is certainly a well thought out one that deserves its credit. If anything, it was a certainly different perspective compared to those generic endings which all end up happy.
No matter how you look at this anime, it is one of a kind. Whether you do or don’t agree with some certain aspects about it, you cannot deny that it is one of the best out there. I don’t really see much wrong with it. I give it a 10/10. I would even go as far as to put this in my top 10 anime list as it was an amazing anime that left an impression on me. If this isn’t a 10, then I don’t know what is. Others that would give this a 9 are just buttheads because they don’t really know what an amazing anime really is; on their scale no anime is perfect, so screw them. Anyways, that about sums it up, hope you liked my review.

Review: Hero Tales
Could have been good, but turned out bad. It had potential, but it was wasted unfortunately.
*WIN
Started off with a good idea/plot.
...
~but then turned it into something completely stupid with out of proportion power and not much logical understanding or explanation behind the back-story and background of the story.
(Ex. Karma of the stars) (Ex. over exaggerated strength of the bad guy at the end)
*WIN
Decent fairly well developed characters.
*FAIL
Karma of the stars/ Alkaid concept makes no fucking sense at all. It’s basically saying that this and that are destined to happen but its total B.S. because the people themselves decide what to do, not some fucking stupid destiny karma of the stars garbage.
*FAIL
The anime failed to truly make sense of the forced karma of the stars destiny, never thoroughly explained how they are forced or why…
*FAIL
Main character is forced to put up with his very annoying bitch sister at the beginning and being called “dumb” by everyone for no reason.
*FAIL
Main character keeps getting beat up by stupid side characters all the time.
~the main character should be the one kicking ass, not getting his ass kicked.
*FAIL
Weird psycho ending that is completely blown out of proportion from what is already established. The big bad boss at the end turns into a complete monster. Doesn’t make sense how the main character won at the end since he hasn’t really done anything special that warrants victory, no training, no prophecy, nothing that would make logically be able to explain why he won at the end.
*FAIL
It was a lame, happy and sappy ending which I predicted and just about expected. I saw it coming a mile away. This was one of the worst ways to end it or at least in my opinion.
This is definitely not an anime I recommend watching unless you're really really bored and have absolutely nothing better to do with your time, in which case enjoy.
